I carry a motorcycle on the bed and would need to take it out when needed. How long would it take? Is this going to be 1 hr operation every time?

Not to sound condescending, but all it takes is you, tools, and a watch. It's all about training and exercise. The more you exercise the less time it takes.

I installed my Retrax in a little over an hour...without having any idea about how to do it other than carefully reading the instructions. I would think that if you'd installed it a time or two, it wouldn't take more than 20-30 minutes. LOTS of trouble, but if that's what you want to do, it shouldn't be all that hard.

I have installed and removed my Retrax about 10-15 times since I have owned it. It should take you about ten to 15 minutes...tops...to remove your Retrax cover. You have 2 bolts and two screws to take out, you lift it out, and bada-boom bada-bing, you are done. Installation should be about the same...about 15 minutes to reinstall.

Thing is once it is assembled, it is pretty easy to remove/reinstall and, once you do it a couple times, it is a breeze. The only suggestion I would have is to have somebody help you lift it out of the bed and put it back in. I have done it myself a few times, and it can be done, but it is much easier to have somebody there to help. Cuts down on the f-bombs! :D
