I'm looking to update the NAVI in my 2007 Ridgeline. My fear is I'll buy today and then next week the next version will be released. So, anyone know what the release schedule is?

My fear is I'll buy today and then next week the next version will be released. So, anyone know what the release schedule is? As luck would have it, I got bitten by the release schedule. I knew updates were issued each fall, as stated on the navi web site. After trying to purchase the "fall update" unsuccessfully, it finally became available several months later. A matter of weeks after I purchased the latest update, another version became available, then yet another version was released ahead of schedule. Frustrating! The updates weren't noticeable to me and didn't affect my area, but the principle is what got me. Neither Honda nor Alpine was willing to offer any compensation. Just the way it goes! Moral of the story: Fall updates are the norm, but there are exceptions and unless you have internal knowledge of forthcoming releases then you just have to jump in and hope for the best. Good luck! BTW, I've successfully sold "old" versions on eBay and recovered 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of the newest version. Dnick 08-22-2009, 05:56 PM FYI, If you buy 4.73 from eBay, it won't load if you have 'older' SW on your truck now. By older, I believe it is pre-4.5 or so (need to research to be sure of the compatability cut-off). In any case, if you never updated for instance, and still have 4.13 or so, 4.73 won't load directly and needs a supplemental set-up disc that will be sent with the 4.73 disc if you order for the OEM. If you've kept up to date, and currently have 4.6x, you should be alright getting the 4.73 from eBay w/o the supplemental disc. I guess the OEM asks you what version you currently have when you order, because I know some folks with newer vehicles have ordered 4.73 from OEM & have received the 4.73 disc only (which loads just fine for them).
