Overall, I found the Retrax pretty easy to install. The only issue I had was getting the tailgate cap back on right. I obviously didn't do it right, and have since had issues with the tailgate cap not wanting to stay on. When I took my RL in for the 15,000 mile service, I told the service tech that I was having problems with the tailgate cap, and he had a service technician fix it. Now it fits like it's supposed to. My bad for not getting it back on right. Just KNOW how it goes back on when you take it off! (Good instructions on the ROC forum.)
Even with the tailgate problems, I absolutely love my Retrax, and wouldn't hesitate to buy the same one again. And with the Pop 'n Lock, it's the perfect bed cover.

Yes, I can understand your frustration. However, when I installed the pop-n-lock we just made sure to install the plastic pieces into the cap before we put it back on. That made it a "snap" to reinstall, rather than trying to slide the cap onto the clips in the tailgate.

That's the way to do it, Brad. Sure wish I'd known that back when I was installing my Retrax. No harm done, but I sure didn't do it right.

Tom,
Are you referring to the Pop'N lock installation or the Retrax installation? When I installed my Retrax, there was no need to remove the tailgate cap.:)

Must be the Pop & Lock, Andy . Even if you install the dust gasket I don't think the Tailgate Cap needs to come off.

Andy, definitely the Pop 'n Lock install. No need at all to remove the tailgate cap with the Retrax installation....as you noted.
