WATER_DOG007 06-09-2009, 01:52 PM Hi Everyone!
I'm Proud to say that I am a NEW Owner of a 2006 RTL. Now comes the Fun Stuff with adding the Accessories. Can Anyone what the Best (cost efficent) Moon Roof Visor to get?? Are they all adhesives?? Also, which brand of hood visor and door visors should I go with?? I was also wondering if it's possible to have both the Nose cover (Bra) and the Hood Visor? If so, I would absolutely love to see a pic of someones Ridgeline that has both.
Well, that's all for now, I'm sure I will be asking more questions later. THANKSto Everyone!!

Welcome to the ROC site!
There are TONS of things you can do mod wise. I've had my 06 RTL for almost two weeks.
As far as the moon roof visor I haven't thought about that (yet). However I installed my bug deflector and window vent/visors this weekend.
There are many types, from Honda, Lund, AVS (made by Lund), etc.
I went with AVS on mine, I like the style. The window trims are in-channel held in place by tape. They fit well and are doing fine. My last truck (01 Montero Sport) had the out of channel ones. They were nice but I like the in-channel ones.
Shop around and look at the different styles. Installation is pretty much the same for all. Prices vary too.
Can't offer advice on the bra, but do a thread search and you'll find opinions & ideas. The best thing to do is grab your favorite beverage and search the posts.
e_piph_a_ny 06-09-2009, 06:27 PM I was also wondering if it's possible to have both the Nose cover (Bra) and the Hood Visor?
Already discussed and not possible.
My question is why the bra? Ugly and damages the paint.
Stewie 06-09-2009, 06:53 PM I got the OEM hood deflector and like it, haven't gotten around to the door visors or sunroof ones yet, I think you'll like the deflector over the bra. If you do a search you come up with tons of threads on these
Welcome to the ROC.
ROLLTIDE 06-09-2009, 07:15 PM Welcome to the ROC!!First you can't use a bra and hood deflector,it one or the other.Second I got all of mine and my wife CRV from O'riely auto parts, all in stock and if they have to order no shipping cost.Have fun with your accessories.:)
rickjr007 06-09-2009, 09:08 PM Welcome to the ROC. I ended up going with the clear bra. I think it was worth the money to protect the front.
BIGGUY 06-10-2009, 07:45 AM Welcome to the ROC:cool:
5S Dude 06-10-2009, 08:02 AM Congrats on your new truck Water Dog. We had the OEM bra at first but it gets sand trapped between it and the black paint. Not Good!
I would go with Rick’s idea and get the 3M Clear Bra and then mount a hood visor. And a sunny SoCal welcome to this great club! ROC-On!
StoneRidge07 06-10-2009, 08:05 AM Congrats on the new Ridge. The best of luck to you with it. I have the Air Deflecter in the front (OEM) and I am nothing but satisfied with it. Remember it is a bare canvas that you can make your.:D:cool:
WATER_DOG007 06-21-2009, 10:48 AM Thanks to Everyone for the Great welcome.
I have decided to go with the Deflector over the Bra. I have already installed my moon roof visor (which looks Awesome!) and just bought the Door visors. I am very disappointed to see that the AVS are what appears to be called in channels. I was hoping to find some that are not in channel and actually stick on Top of door, like most of the others. Has Anyone found a company that has started making them yet?? Or do you guys think they will ever make them?? Getting ready to take mine back to the parts store for refund. I have also tried to order the Hood deflector from Pep boys
( AVS) and for the last 2 weeks they have been out of stock, in all of their warehouses around the country. Thanks again to everyone and PLMK if you know of the Ventshade question?
THANKS!
DAVID
p.s. I will Post pics later this week.
Cajun Country Ridgeline 06-21-2009, 10:57 AM I have had bad experiences with the Bra's in the past. When it rains really hard and you leave a very wet bra on for several days, as it drys it leaves a mark on the paint that is very hard to remove.
During the telephone/bug season I just spray with pam and clean off as I go on trips, they come off very easy.
I have the hood deflector on my Ridgeline so a bra would not fit at the moment.
I have the roof rack which prevents me from using the moon roof shield.
Welcome to ROC and enjoy your ride, it will be the best investment you have ever made. :D:D

Thanks for the Helpful info. Brother! I have decided to go with the Hood Deflector instead. Still looking for the EXTERIOR DOOR VENT COVERS. PLMK if you know where I can find them. I think the in channels look VERY SMALL and if you are not looking for them, you can't even tell they are installed (Especially if you have tinted windows). The front (in-channel version) can't be just about an inch wide. I want some that sticks a little out from the doors a little. If you are looking head on at vehicle, you can't even tell the front doors have covers. Just MO.
Thanks and Take Care,
DAVID
hopingforahonda 06-22-2009, 09:04 AM Check out Weathertech.com for the window visors, I purchased the AVS brand(cheaper and it shows) and returned them for the in-channel WT visors. Once you see the WT version, there is really no comparison to the AVS. I personally didnt want to stick anything to the paint with the ouside visors. And I've had no issues at all with the auto-up feature coming back down. gl

I agree compleatly with not wanting the stick-on's. I've seen truck's that they've come off of. And they can peel the paint and they leave a glue residue:eek: I have had the in-channel for four years and love them:cool: And any one can peel the stick-on's off
djeaux 06-22-2009, 10:55 AM I recommend checking with Jason at Burtman Industries (a ROC sponsor, so see that forum area) about the vent visors. I bought AVS from him -- the price was great, the shipping was fast, the install was drop-dead simple & the result has been top-notch & two years in, I have no complaints with the product. They are in-the-channel stick-ons and will not damage your paint!
And oh yeah, congrats on your new ride. I coached some kick-a$$ juco baseball players from Florence about 25 years ago & our next door neighbor retired from Miss'ippi back to the Florence area about 20 years back.
You need to fire up that new ride and get down to Pigeon Forge TN this weekend! :D
PalmettoRidgey 06-22-2009, 12:18 PM I rode beside a Mitsubishi Montero Sport with the out-of-channel vent visors yesterday ... with the rear driver's side flapping in the wind. I had to hurry up and get past him because I was afraid the thing would blow off and hit the Ridge. About two weeks ago, I drove past a Ford Taurus with out-of-channel visors who had the rear right one about to fly off.
You ought to think about why you want vent visors. Function or aesthetics? I think my AVS in-channel serves both purposes, but if you want something that's going to really stand off the vehicle, spend the money on the Honda OEM ones and you're not relying solely on adhesive to hold them on.
RustyH 06-22-2009, 03:53 PM I have decided to go with the Deflector over the Bra. I have already installed my moon roof visor (which looks Awesome!) and just bought the Door visors. Why would you want something that has to be stuck to your truck with double sided tape. The in channel visors are a much cleaner install and work just as well. I'm very happy with my in channel vent visors.
I've got the hood and moon roof deflector, which work very well and look good. I also have a full bra, but only use the bottom section when driving long distances as it helps cut down on bug and rock damage to the paint. The hood bra is completely useless and in fact can damage you paint as it will flap up and down on the hood at high speed. I had mine on for a drive across country and in the first days use, put a permament paint scrape across the entire hood that couldn't be buffed out.
Whobbins 07-04-2009, 08:54 AM I prefer the Honda OEM bug deflector, The vent visors I used the in channel from AVS and they work fine. As for the sun roof visor I don't use one because they intrude the opening.
