Anyone have an opinion on squaretrade warranties. They are very cheap vs store warranties. Many items purchased off ebay offer it.:confused:

I did a search but nothing came up, if someone finds please share.;)

SRQRIDGE, I recently bought a portable XM radio on eBay, and I got the SquareTrade warranty notice after I bought it. I'd never heard of SquareTrade, so I did a little research. From what I could find out, the ST warranty is a great deal. I got a 2-year warranty on my XM radio for just $8. My old portable XM unit lasted only about 2 years, and when I had to replace it, I spent about $75 for a new one....and that was by getting a great deal on eBay.

To me, spending $8 for a 2-year warranty is a good deal. Even if it doesn't work out at all, I haven't lost any major $$. I couldn't find anything negative about SquareTrade, so my thougths are it's a good deal. It's sure FAR cheaper than any manufacturer's extended warranty.

Hope others will chime in if their experience is negative.
