Fellow southern Californians, there has to be a bunch of us - let's get together!

The wife and I live in Fountain Valley, in the OC. I can see all those dots on the zipcode map thread - I know you are out there!

Me too. Maybe we could meet and caravan to Crestline, Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear Lake, Mount Palomar or Temecula wine country for some wine tasting.

Or any other ideas?

Coastline drive?

A southern california get together sounds good. I am in west Los Angeles. Let's try for something that let's people meet for lunch on a Saturday, and those that want to drive on after lunch in a caravan can if they want. Orange county for lunch may be central.

I have had my Ridgeline since July 1st and have been wanting to do a SoCal meet! There are lots of use here I chat with at least 2 or 3. I am always down from a coastal run but open to an inland one as well. Hopfully before I leave on vacation in December!

Sounds great - glad to know there are a lot of other SoCal ROC folk out there. If you SoCal ROC veterans have an idea of where and when to meet, the wife and I are all for it.

I've been in a owner's club before and we've used Fashion Island in Newport Beach as a meeting spot (lunch at one of the various restaurants followed by a drive or vice versa) - but always open to suggestions!

Because we stretch from deep into San Diego, the O.C. to The San Fernando Valley, We probably should meet in the center then caravan to a lunch spot, cruise the opposite direction, then go from there!

We can make it more structured if you wanted too. Drive lets say up the coast to Santa Maria for a movie and Santa Maria style barbecue in Guadalupe! If you have never had it, You are surely missing out!

My hubby is ready to buy his Ridge today or tomorrow. We live in San Jose and would like to get something going with Northern California Ridgeowners.
Napa wine tasting, local ball game (Giants?), any suggestions?
Also, how might we get a dealer involved with the club. We are having a very good interface with Anderson Honda in Menlo Park-total respect and a great 'internet' price for the vehicle. No game-playing.
I'd also like some input from anyone who has put in their own fog lights and drilling in the bumper. Liked the ones from HandA...as Xmas gifts for hubby. Anyone tackle this themselves with any issues?

I'm in Topanga (near Malibu)... I hope I'll be able to make it, although I'm horribly busy lately, what with the 67.5 Roadster rebuild project going on every weekend... we shall see! :D

Count me in. I can be in OC in 90 minutes if so motivated, I'll be in Irvine on 11/11. Just keep me informed, I'd even do a Vegas Run with anyone.....:)

I just think we should pick a "Ridgeline" Specific Drive and test these babies out....

It's a really fun project -- costly, as restorations usually are, but it will be worth it when we're done.

Here's before & after pics of the engine:

http://www.wheelshark.org/Roadster/engine_rebuild.htm

Here are some old pics (posted by the previous owner) of the car....

http://community.webshots.com/album/100253480MdzBoc

He painted it Datsun Orange, which is arguably a decent color for a sports car, but not an original Roadster color. We'll be restoring it back to the original white (http://community.webshots.com/photo/100253480/110023828WXpShf). It's a matching numbers car, although it is only a 1600 (the 2000 is more prized as a collector's car, but I think the 1600 will be plenty fast enough!).

I have my own pics of the car, but mostly of it in various states of disassembly. I'll post pics when it's all done, though, for the other roadster fans out there!

Very, very nice. I had two MGB/GT's, a '66 and a '67, and also a 1975 BMW 2002. I restored the '66 and the '75. It's fun when you have no kids and lots of time for toys. :)

Yep, and since I've decided that I'm entirely too selfish to devote 18+ years of my life to kids of my own, I can have lots of time for toys instead. :D :p

I'll post pics when the baby's all done... maybe we can start a thread for toys that we have or have had, cuz I've seen several other people on the ROC post that they have renovated their own classic cars before.

Very cool Fly! awesome project you've got going. My buddy had a car like that and I think it was called a Fairlady. It was right hand drive and we used to have a blast with the top down shifting with the "wrong hand" You gotta post photos when you get er done....Thanks!
