I'm just curious about the factory stereo wiring, mainly in an RT (which has the base model 100 watt radio).
I assume the amplifier is built into the head unit, no external amp mounted somewhere else? If that's true than I could also assume the rear speakers are wired directly from the head unit?
So what about the front stage? How are the woofers in the doors and the tweeters in the dash wired? Did they go as far as to install a factory crossover? Or are the woofers and tweeters simply wired in parallel with a high pass filter protecting the tweeter?
If that's the case, does anyone know where the parallel splice is made (behind the radio, under the dash)? That would make inserting a crossover easy.

I did search but I did not find my answer so I figured I would start a new thread asking.
Someone e-mailed me the schematic which helped but opened up more questions. I need to know what "J/C C421" is.
Put it in the door before the woofer and simply disconnect the factory tweet That's not what I want to accomplish. I want to use the factory tweeter location and wiring if possible. That is why I need to know about the wiring.

could find this answer after a quick search. This may be an easy question but will the stereo from an 06 Rl fit in my 07? just standard 6 disc so cant imagine why. My CD changer is jammed up after my wreck.

On the drawing, it looks like a simple junction for the speaker wires. Where it is... ?
... beats me.
Maybe it's in the Electronics Service manual?

Some of the replies here are UNSAT. Someone new to the forum could use some help with finding there way around, instead of condescending sarcasm. That would be how you grow a forum community instead of chasing off newbies.

I must agree. When a subforum only gets 1-2 posts per day, I don't think it's necessary to tell someone to search, especially when they did search already and the questions they asked have not been answered.
If anyone has any knowledge on the location of the front stage wiring and filtering, please let me know.

Somewhere there is a splice where the dash mounted tweeters and the door mounted woofers are spliced. I assume there is some type of high pass filter or even a crossover at this point. Do you know where this is?
Thanks!

The "splice" is located in junction connector C452 which is a white, 22 pin connector located directly behind the head unit. The high pass filter is mounted to the tweeter. PM sent.
This information is from my 2006/2007 ETM, not sure if anything has changed for 2009.
