Installing PAC-SWI steering wheel control module along with a Kenwood 6140 in my 2009 ridgeline RTL. Followed all of the instructions but no luck with programming. PAC lists the instructions for the 09 RL seperately from 06-08, only difference I can see is that they omit the use of the resistor. Anybody have any luck in installing the PAC unit in an 09?

I just installed the 6140 and PAC interface in my 2006, the only difference I could see was that you didnt have to use the resistor, but you had to cut one of the brown looped wires on the interface for 2009. Did you ground the brown wire coming from the factory harness, thats what caused me a little grief, but once I did that if programmed fine.
There is also a flaw with some of the PAC Interface, one of the wires is soldered to the wrong terminal, if you go to there web site there is a fix for it. But if you call their TEch Line there is an easier fix, I cant remember what it was, I was lucky that mine was soldered correctly.........
I have installed three of these things in two GM vehicles and now a Honda, and all times I ran into minor difficulties, and it was always because I missed something in the instructions. So double check and contact PACs Tech Line about the soldering flaw.
It will work, you just got to figure out what u missed.

Thanks for the reply. Called tech support and they were able to help. I have verion 1.6.16. Tech had me cut the 3.5mm jack off the unit and use the red wire from that jack to connect to the blue and yellow wire on the head unit. Worked like a charm. Having problems getting the mode button to program, read something on one of the threads about getting this to work but can't find it. Any suggestions? Thanks

I have done 2 Ridgelines (2006 & 2008) with the Pac module. Both times I had an issue with the the mode function... The problem is as follows...
the resting voltage of the pulse wire from the steering wheel is very close to the MODE function voltage.. On the 2006, I had to use 8800 ohms of resistance in programing mode 3. The 2008 needed only 560 ohms in programming mode 9.
Your best bet is to call the tech service and have them walk you thru the wiring to make the MODE button work.
good luck !!!
