ridgeline2006 07-26-2009, 05:33 PM Cruisin the Coast will be Oct 4-11 this year and we would like to put something together for ROC on Saturday Oct 10th. It will give us a chance to get the ROC members together and allow us to see all the old car at the same time. There will be over 20,000 car register for the week. There will be lots of food and plenty of activity. Come join us for a day of fun and recreation. This will allow ROC to make there mark at Cruisin the Coast this year....:)
Here is the flyer: ROC and Cruisin the Coast 2009 (http://members.cox.net/hon-e/gulfcoastridgelinerally-cruisinthecoast2009.shtml)
Lex Luthor 07-26-2009, 06:04 PM I'm looking for a SELF CONTAINED TRAILER.:) I know djeaux will like this. I look forward to meeting more ROC enthusiast.:D
djeaux 07-26-2009, 08:27 PM Just to clarify a little, Cruisin' the Coast is a major street rod event that has been held annually on the Mississippi Coast for many years. As Tony's pointed out, there will be around 20,000 street rods of all types from classic '30s coupes to Cobra kit cars to old Nash Ramblers. You name it. There are "venues" all along the Coast with cars constantly on display, guys cruising Highway 90 (the beach road) between points, etc. At night, there are sock hops, drag races, and this year, drag boat races on Gulfport Lake.
Anyone cruisin' in for the ROC rally is just a spectator, and spectating is free. For the record, in order to officially register a vehicle made after 1981, there must be documentation of "major modifiications" in five of the following categories: wheels, paint, body, engine, exhaust, drive train, suspension (lower or raise), or interior. Frankly, I'm not sure more than a hand full of ROCsters would qualify. But that's not our plan.
Thousands of spectators turn out & anybody can "cruise." Which is our plan -- to have a good meal (as in crustaceans and molluscs), drive down the beach road & enjoy the scenery, and see some seriously tricked out rides.
This will be the 2nd Annual ROC Cruisin' the Coast rally, of course ;)

djeaux 07-26-2009, 08:33 PM And some more!
djeaux 07-26-2009, 08:35 PM And one for the weirdos (one of my personal faves)!
djeaux 08-01-2009, 04:43 PM Bump to get this to the top of the New Posts!
You guys in Mississippi, Alabama, and Lousiana -- this is a great event & a day trip for those along the Gulf Coast proper. There will be lodging available in spite of all the street rodders & you guys with casino comps can cash 'em in! (I can suggest camp grounds for those who are so inclined.)
djeaux 08-06-2009, 12:13 PM Special announcement!
There will be valuable door prizes! You must "preregister" using the survey above, and you must be present to win!
(Trailer not included. All models over 18. No animals harmed in production of the door prizes.)
ridgeline2006 08-17-2009, 08:51 AM Here's a bump, I can't wait to see what Joe is going to come up with for a door prize. He surprised me with this, but I think it is a great idea. There is still plenty of time to put us on your calendar in October. Try to fits us in, we would really like to have a great turnout.
Dnick 08-19-2009, 06:04 AM OK Fellas (& Gals),
I'll be there . . . I'm coming from sunny So Cal., and haven't been down your way since I was stationed at Biloxi way back when (1972). We'll probably be staying in a hotel/motel somewhere, but if you can recommend a good campground, that would be good backup info to have. I'll be on a multi-week road trip with my wife, and we'll be swinging down from up around Tennesee way. (did I spell that right?)
Hope to see you then, keep posting info on where & when for the ROC gathering. We don't have a fixed schedule for our whole trip yet, but I'm using the gulf coast ROC date as one of the guiding dates.
:o) Dnick
ridgeline2006 08-19-2009, 11:48 AM Well Dnick, I am surprised, but I am very happy that you will be spending time with us. I did send you a couple of PM and I await your reply. I'm sure you know cruisin the coast will have many many people on the coast so you might want to lock something in soon. You can always cancel if you find something better. On the link below the flyer will guide you to the link of hotels on the beach. I sure hope more local can get involved. This could be the best turn yet.

djeaux 08-20-2009, 11:40 AM Great photos!
Just a heads up -- you probably will want to make hotel reservations about now, because the street rodders really do fill the place up. When you have 10,000-20,000 cars (registered & just cruisin'), it means a pile of people!
For a list of campgrounds in the vicinity, see this link (http://www.camping-usa.com/campgrounds/mississippi/biloxi/). Some are better than others, as you know. I live literally a couple hundred yards from the dam at Flint Creek Water Park in Wiggins (about 25 miles north of Biloxi). I don't recommend Bluff Creek due to the "redneck factor." Shepard State Park in Gautier is good. Gulf Islands National Seashore on Davis Bayou in Ocean Springs is excellent & features exhibits through the US Park Service & Gulf Coast Research Lab. Buccaneer State Park in Waveland is supposed to have some camper pads open (Katrina whacked them), but that is very close to one of the main "venues" for Cruisin' the Coast.
There is also a KOA-type campground right off I-10 at Highway 57 (Vancleave) that is literally in the backyard of The Shed, which is a finalist in the national BBQ competition sponsored by Good Morning America. The Shed is that has pretty heavy bar traffic until closing time on Friday & Saturday nights & will likely have a live band. (This can be either good or bad depending on how thirsty you are & how much you like blues music ;)) I suspect it will be packed during Cruisin', as it's only a few miles from the Ocean Springs venue.
For hotels, the "cheaper" places along US 49 into Gulfport (e.g., Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn, etc) are extremely popular with cruisers. You'd have to check on bookings. The casinos on the Biloxi strip are unlikely to fill up. Rates are variable, but if you're interested PM me & I can see what might be done on "comps" as I have contacts at the Beau Rivage (MGM/Mirage).
You will definitely win the Long Haul Trucker Award for this one, so it looks like my Uncle Lucco will have to lean on some "sponsors" for more prizes :D
Lookin' forward to meeting you in Octember!

Larry, see if there are rooms at the Best Western in Wiggins, MS. That's my hometown and it's about 30 min (easy) driving to either Gulfport or Biloxi. Wiggins is on US 49 between Hattiesburg & the coast.
I'd offer you a room, but frankly we don't have one to offer & the floor is, um, kinda funky. Dog, you know :D
Anyone interested in camping can try contacting Flint Creek Water Park in Wiggins. They have very nice cabins (3/2 on a 600 acre lake) for $75/nite.
djeaux 09-24-2009, 01:26 PM OPEN LETTER TO RIDGELINE2006:
Have you worked up an itinerary? Do we want to meet in Ocean Springs first & work westward to the venues -- Edgewater Mall & the old VA hospital on US 90 are known to me -- or do we want to meet west and work east toward Ocean Springs & the Shed?
I will be working on the door prizes next week, folks. That's right -- plural. We have some serious participation showing up (for a Southeastern meet) and I'm going to take it seriously. Hope everyone likes Hondas...
FLA-Vyk 09-25-2009, 08:09 AM I was able to get a single king room for $59 in Moss Point.
I will be driving up from FL on the 9th, are we going to have a central meeting point?
ridgeline2006 09-25-2009, 11:27 AM I am working on the itinerary right now. Soon as I run it by the committee I will post it. Thanks to all who has made the commitment. This should be a good time. Watch for new posting.
djeaux 09-25-2009, 12:16 PM I just checked with Flint Creek Water Park, which is located in Wiggins MS approximately 25 miles north of Gulfport/Biloxi. If you are traveling to the Coast from the north on U.S. 49, Wiggins is about midway between Hattiesburg and Gulfport. This park features a 600 acre lake. It is located inside the city limits. (For those who are interested & understand the mores of the Deep South, Wiggins is "wet for beer" but the county is "dry.")
At present, there are still two "camphouses" available for the October 9-10 weekend. They are $50/night but may be a little closer to "roughing it" than some of you might prefer. The are air conditioned and have cable TV.
"These cabins are ONE ROOM with 2 sets of full size bunk beds, a kitchenette that includes a “dorm” size refrigerator, small stove/oven, kitchen sink with some cabinet space. 1 bath w/shower only. Heat/air unit, coffee pot, 1 TV w/ Cable, picnic table with benches inside and out. BBQ Grill. These bunkhouses are waterfront C-1, C2, C3 are most popular because they sit on the point with the lake directly in front of them. Most bunkhouses have boat accessibility. Odd numbers on left – even numbers on right."
Park Website (http://www.phwd.net/parks/flint%20creek/default.asp) -- scroll down for reservation info. The park can take reservations for conventional trailer/tent camping directly, but there is a toll-free number for cabin rentals.
Oh, a final note... My house is located roughly 300 yards from the front gate of the park ;)
ridgeline2006 09-26-2009, 08:20 AM We are working on the Itinerary and we will post soon
ridgeline2006 09-26-2009, 08:39 AM Here is the plan and this may change but for now this is what we hope to do.....

ROC Rally Itinerary
10:30am - McElroy's on the Bayou Parking Lot
11:30 - 12:00 - McElroy's on the Bayou for Lunch
2:30pm - Ride to Gulf Islands National Seashore on Davis Bayou in Ocean Springs for ROC Photos
3:30pm - til - Edgewater Mall or somewhere we can park our Truck together and view Cruisin the Coast
larryr 09-26-2009, 01:03 PM The wife said I can go - So I will be attending.
djeaux 09-27-2009, 02:20 PM A couple of follow ups...
McElroy's On the Bayou is located right on Highway 90 in Ocean Springs. It is only a few blocks to walk to the downtown area, which is a major Cruisin' the Coast venue. McElroy's has very good po-boys -- I recommend the shrimp, oyster, or half-n-half myself. If you are a bigger eater, their fried or broiled flounder is always excellent, although it may be a bit much for lunch. The view of Fort Bayou from the back is very nice. Weather permitting, we can hope the deck is open!
For a map, see this link (http://local.yahoo.com/info-15221584-mc-elroy-s-on-the-bayou-ocean-springs).
McElroy's is on the north side of U.S. 90 on the Ocean Springs side of the Biloxi Bay Bridge, just before you reach Washington Ave (which is the road back north to I-10).
From the west (Biloxi direction), cross the bridge and follow U.S. 90 for about 3/8ths of a mile. When the road curves to the east, start looking on your left. If you reach the Washington Ave light, you need to turn around. I'm not sure about cross-overs any more.
From the east (Pascagoula/Mobile direction), when you reach Washington Ave (look for the I-10 signs), keep going straight another couple hundred yards. It will be on the right.
From I-10, east or west, take the Ocean Springs exit and head south. When you reach U.S. 90, hang a right & McElroy's will be on the right a couple hundred yards.
Anybody coming in from the north (via Jackson & US 49) can feel free to give me a PM to get my cell number. I live about 25 miles north of Gulfport right off US 49.

We had "rain" today -- very early -- and it was cloudy to partly cloudy the rest of the day. Worst case scenario, I hope that's what happens. Best case scenario would be like the "rain" we had yesterday -- clear blue skies with rain well after dark!
I will be participating in the ancient Biloxi Indian reverse rain dance daily for the rest of the week.

Of course. But it will be the Cherokee Indian reverse rain dance if I do it there.
(This isn't original. When I was in high school, I was staff at the Boy Scout summer camp. The camp director would dance an "authentic" rain dance backwards every Wednesday morning, Wednesdays being family visit day.)

FLA-Vyk 10-06-2009, 07:02 PM Hi all
Currently west of Monroe LA, heading home. Will drive up on Friday? Are there any plans for Friday evening?
djeaux 10-06-2009, 08:06 PM Vick, We can figure something out for Friday night, because there will be some folks already here. If you get the chance PM your cell number to me. And check your messages for mine :)
Dnick 10-06-2009, 08:12 PM Yep - you gotta love them Saints. You can Thank San Diego for giving away Drew Brees (sp?). Seems like I always live where the dumbest NFL owners are (was in Anaheim/LA area when Rams first let Eric Dickerson get away, and then moved out of town for St Louis!).
Soooo, we're in Nashville tonight. Will be spending Friday night in Pensacola, Fla. Anything interesting to do there??? Advice is welcome on how to spend the afternoon/evening. We'll probably have around 5 or 6000 miles behind us on this road trip by the time we roll into Biloxi. Have been pleasantly surprised by the over-the-road gas mileage. Has been reliably above 22 MPG for speeds below 70. Hasn't been below 18 1/2 MPG, even in the norther most states with 75mph limits (moving along about 80).
'Looking forward to meeting you all & getting a look at Biloxi, which I haven't seen since 1972, when I spent a few months there in the USAF. See you there!
Dan (Dnick) & Denise :)
djeaux 10-06-2009, 08:14 PM For the record, the Vicari Motorsports Auto Auction will be going on at the Coast Coliseum (on Highway 90). There will be a mega swap meet at the Coliseum as well.
There will be live music at the Downtown Ocean Springs, D'Iberville Municipal Complex, Edgewater Mall, and Bay St. Louis venues. Our meeting site for lunch is within walking distance of the O.S. downtown area & given parking that might be a thought...
I will be scouting a little either tomorrow or Thursday. More reports once the spies return. (One spy, my neighbor, stopped by today to show off his new "cruiser" -- a 2010 Camaro! :))
Dnick 10-06-2009, 08:29 PM BTW,
What do I get if I bring our San Diego weather with us???
Dnick :D
Dnick 10-06-2009, 08:32 PM So,
We're staying at the Best Western Cypress Creek in Ocean Springs on Saturday night. How close is that to where we'll be getting together?
Dnick
djeaux 10-06-2009, 08:39 PM So,
We're staying at the Best Western Cypress Creek in Ocean Springs on Saturday night. How close is that to where we'll be getting together?
Dnick
Pretty close. That hotel is actually in North Biloxi (D'Iberville), if Google Maps is correct. You'll be about 2 miles north of the I-10/Hwy 67 interchange (which is I-110 to the south). Good area. From that exit to the Ocean Springs exit is about 2 miles & then it's another couple of miles from the interstate down to Highway 90. Alternatively, you can take I-110 straight down to Highway 90 & head east toward Ocean Springs.
ridgeline2006 10-07-2009, 01:39 PM Four more days
Its not to late
Lex Luthor 10-07-2009, 03:24 PM PLEASE PRAY THAT IT DOES NOT RAIN. TONY'S RIDGELINE HAS NEVER SEEN THE LIQUID STUFF THAT COMES FROM THE SKY. I'M looking forward to meeting you guy's. GO LSU.:)
djeaux 10-07-2009, 05:21 PM So far, I've had three out-of-staters contact me about getting together on Friday night. If you will be on the Coast Friday night, send me a PM with your cell number. I am thinking just some eatery like TGI Fridays (at the I-10/US 49 interchange in Gulfport or the I-10/I-110 interchange in North Biloxi). Another possibility would be either The Shed (BBQ) at I-10/Miss. 57 in Vancleave east of Ocean Springs or The Shed on Miss. 53 about 5 miles north of I-10 off Highway 49 in Gulfport.
But I'm open to suggestions & there will be some cool stuff at the casinos as well as big buffets. I think the Coasters are playing one night. Most of the C-the-C events are '50s style stuff... So if you PM me, state your preference for either easy access and low key or the bright lights on casino row.
djeaux 10-08-2009, 01:05 PM 2 DAYS AND COUNTING
One day if you're going to be at the pre-party.
djeaux 10-09-2009, 07:11 AM 26 ˝ hours!
Pre-pre-party planning to commence in about six hours ;)

Its Party Time Southern Style
Lets Roll
ROLLTIDE 10-09-2009, 01:09 PM Well it took me 6 1/2 hours to get here, just check in to my hotel and on my way to Biloxi.see ya soon.:D
larryr 10-09-2009, 04:48 PM Well there are six of us now. All at the red carpet inn in room 123. :D
4 White Ones
2 Blue Ones
larryr 10-09-2009, 04:58 PM Look at ths 51 Studebaker
25 Year Honda Owner 10-09-2009, 06:19 PM Look at ths 51 Studebaker
Neat, what about the bike trailer!! That has to be an original!!
djeaux 10-09-2009, 07:47 PM Neat, what about the bike trailer!! That has to be an original!!
Check the photo galleries I posted this morning. The car, bike & trailer were featured as a "best of" by the local newspaper. There were serious street rods everywhere, and we didn't go into the "ground zero" area this afternoon! There were also six pretty serious Ridgelines with more coming tomorrow!
djeaux 10-09-2009, 08:04 PM Some pics...
First the pre-pre-pre-party (aka lunch) at "New Orleans Grille" in D'Iberville, MS, followed by a caravan to scout the Gulf Islands National Seashore Park for our photo ops tomorrow... (Left to right: djeaux, larryr, Lex Luthor, and Ridgeline2006)
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02581.JPG
Back at El Ranko Motel, a couple more show up for the pre-pre-party (aka hanging around the motel). Fla-Vyk phoned me from the parking lot & said, I'm parked by three blue Ridgelines & a white one! Then the Tide rolled in & we had an SEC trifecta of LSU, Bama, and Ole Miss. (Left to right: Fla-Vyk, Lex Luthor, Ridgeline2006, larryr, djeaux, and Rolltide)
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02590.JPG
The obligatory nose shot, same line up as above. I should've taken one when all the hoods were open -- four of the six have painted engine covers.
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02591.JPG
Sorry about this last one. I was backed up to the wall of the motel next door & couldn't get a wider shot.
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02592.JPG
Larryr & I headed out because we had longer drives to our respective evening abodes. The others are heading to the Isle of Capri casino for the pre-party (aka casino buffet). We're expecting nine more Ridgelines tomorrow & I took a call from Starfixer, who was desperately waiting for parole, er, closing time at work! More pics tomorrow & there will be TONS of street rod pics, too. We haven't even gotten into "ground zero" for the Cruisin' the Coast festivities ... yet!
READY TO ROC THE COAST!
djeaux 10-10-2009, 05:05 PM More pics. We ended up with nine trucks. I got individual photos of eight of them (sorry Tony). Here goes with those first...
(below left) FMS1 & Mrs. FMS1 came all the way from Shreveport LA in their new (Canadian-built) mocha metallic 2009 RTL Nav. (This is a sweet truck & a dead-on match for my Mrs. Djeaux's 2009 Pilot EX-L RES! She didn't attend, which probably saved me a cool $35K!) The FMS1's attended our Cruisin' the Coast mini-meet last year, so we had all of last years attendees returning!
(below right) Mr. & Mrs. Dnick won our long distance award (a plaque, BTW) for driving in from San Diego to represent the SoCal Chapter of ROC. If you want to know how much stuff you can cram in a Ridgeline bed, ask them!
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02596.JPG http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02605.JPG
(below left) Lex Luthor's "people's choice" award winner, sporting new Wet Okole headliner & armrests, which nobody else in the world has! (Note LSU Tiger doll on the dashboard!)
(below right) Rolltide rolled in from Warner-Robbins GA & raised the question whether steel blues come from the factory with hood scoops! This is a tricked out truck that gets driven in the woods huntin' & fishin'.
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02597.JPG http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02598.JPG
Cajun Country Ridgeline 10-10-2009, 05:06 PM Keep those posts and pictures coming. Have a blast on your trip.:D:D
djeaux 10-10-2009, 05:19 PM And now for the WHITE RIDGELINE OWNERS CLUB. I didn't get an individual pic of Ridgeline2006's truck, but it is white, too...
(below left) From Cajun Country in Lafayette LA, starfixer. This truck has a lighting system that will make any firefighter jealous. It is also very handy to have a "LEO" type vehicle in anybody's ROC caravan! The cab of this ride looks like a state trooper's vehicle. Starfixer has a cool little dragon chrome emblem that I thought Fla-Vyk was going to pry off the truck. After all, Vic has driven The Dragon!
(below right) Fla-Vyk drove in from Flagler Beach FL in his "farm truck" after making a solo run to Colorado in his S2000. Vic was at the 2009 Combo National in Pigeon Forge this summer & it was super to see him again! His truck now features chrome mirrors & door handles.
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02599.JPG http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02600.JPG
(below left) Coming in from Bentonville AR, the inimitable larryr was showing off his Alabama-built 2009 RTL. Larry & I split off the rest of the crew & headed north for home a little early. Another Pigeon Forge Combo Nationals attendee, even if he was driving a Civic Hybrid then. He had returned from the Dark Side!
(below right) Yours truly. The Great White Wonder. Also the only non-RTL in attendance. I have the nicest wheels, though!
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02601.JPG http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02603.JPG
I do apologize to Tony (Ridgeline2006) for not getting a shot of his truck while walking the line at the restaurant... Suffice to say, it is a WHITE Ridgeline with just about every Honda accessory known to humankind installed on it! A great truck & a great guy. Our organizer & instigator.
djeaux 10-10-2009, 05:29 PM Ridgeline2006 (Tony) was Mister Photography for this gathering. Here he is coordinating individual shots at the restaurant before lunch. He will be posting about 210,000 pictures when he gets home & douses Lex Luthor with ice water before the LSU-Florida game!

"Not a Ridgeline Owner"...
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02604.JPG
"Pagan Pride Day" (you go figure) kept us off the boat ramp at the Gulf Islands National Seashore park, but here's the line-up under the live oak trees. (left-to-right: Fla-Vyk, djeaux, FMS1, Lex Luthor, Dnick, Rolltide, Starfixer, Larryr & Ridgeline2006. The person driving the Ford in the background is a benighted soul, but his girlfriend looked cute in the bikini!)
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02607.JPG
djeaux 10-10-2009, 05:46 PM Some more pics from the Gulf Islands park. Evidently, Tony's trying to coordinate another set of pictures. Document this thing! Document this thing! (For the record, those chopped off looking trees are a legacy from Hurricane Katrina. There was 10-15 feet of storm surge in this area, along with 180-200 mph wind!)
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02608.JPG
Mrs. Dnick (far left) keeps an eagle eye on a bunch of trucks.
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02609.JPG
Starfixer (center) explains to FMS1 (right) why the factory cold intake scoop on Rolltide's (left) truck is essential to making an aftermarket intake work properly. Four of the five trucks had painted engine covers & Rolltide has gone the extra mile with the cold air scoop, fuse box cover & "secret" high performance mod. (If anything Ridgeline owners are innovative & inveterate DIYers!) And for the record, FMS1 is wearing one of djeaux's special door prizes -- a "Powered by Honda" cap!
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02612.JPG
Hoods up time! (Left-to-right: Fla-Vyk, djeaux, FMS1, Lex Luthor & a bunch of folks standing in front of Dnick's long-haul trucker.)
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02614.JPG
djeaux 10-10-2009, 06:00 PM Another line-up shot under the live oaks. Folks, we were parked about 100 yards from the Gulf of Mexico in an area with gorgeous salt marshes & probably the only place in the world with turtle-crossing warning signs! (Right-to-left: Fla-Vyk, djeaux, FMS1, Lex Luthor, Dnick, Rolltide, Starfixer, Larryr & Ridgeline2006)
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02617.JPG
Tony (Ridgeline2006) dashes to the line for the group shot. He'll have to post that ... he worked hard on it! This is "the man," even if Jimmy (Lex Luthor) got the best-in-show award.
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02618.JPG
Larryr does the honors in our "swap meet." FMS1 wanted "ole style" amber lights on his 2009 & Starfixer wanted "new style" all-red lights on his 2006, so... Larry got 'em all fixed up! Folks, Larryr is a certified (or "certifiable") genius. Such a great, great guy to have around!
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02619.JPG
The other half of the swap meet...
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RDSC02620.JPG
For the record, Larryr has also swapped out his "new style" 2009 all-red lights for "ole style" lights. So the big question of the afternoon was, "Who has a 10mm socket?"
25 Year Honda Owner 10-10-2009, 06:05 PM Great job Joe, you should be doing a syndicated column or at least have an anchor job on Fox News!!;) Keep the pics and info coming. Wife is going to live after a few doses of TAMIFLU and I am on 1 TAMIFLU a day for prevention.:) Say goodbye to $200 bucks for 20 pills!!!:(
djeaux 10-10-2009, 06:28 PM One last pic... As I posted early in this thread, there were door prizes. A cap, water bottle, some "cruiser" Hot Wheels & Ridgeline Hot Wheels were awarded. But Tony also had cool aluminum dash plaques for everyone & special awards for the long distance attendees (Mr. & Mrs. Dnick) & a "best in show" that was determined by popular vote.
Here's Tony (Ridgeline2006) on the right awarding the plaque to Jimmy (Lex Luthor)...
http://www.djeaux.com/images/2007_Ridgeline/2009_Cruisin_Meet/RSC02622.JPG
Now, from the park one contingent (Ridgeline2006, Lex Luthor, Rolltide & Starfixer) headed west into the heart of Cruisin' country on the Biloxi strip. Fla-Vyk headed east back to Florida & Larryr and I headed north for home. Tony has a ton more photos he'll post & I'm sure others will post theirs. This was a lot of fun & great fellowship.
THANKS TO THOSE
WHO MADE THE MEET!
For those of you who missed it, we are already planning Cruisin' the Coast 2010 & it will be bigger & better. The crew present included folks from the SoCal, Gulf Coast, Southeast, and Mid-South Chapters & everyone "represented" well! Fun weekend!
ridgeline2006 10-10-2009, 06:32 PM Well what can I say. What a nice turn out even with the threat of rain, and plenty rain. So many stories to tell, I will try to tell as many as I can. First I want to thank everyone for show up nine trucks out of thirteen expecting to be there. Special thanks to Joe (Djeaux) and Jimmy (Lex Luthor) for all their help. I couldn't have done it without you guys.
I have many pictures that I will put on a webpage link so everyone can see them. I just need a little time to put them together. All those who took pictures please email them to me so I can put together for the website. My email address is at the bottom of the page so please use it to get the pictures to me.
starfixer 10-10-2009, 08:07 PM Think the Meet went great, had a great time and was nice to see what the others have done to their ridge. Was a nice blend of the daily drivers and those whom until this meet had never, never ever even seen rain.:)
Think it turned out really good and am already looking forward to next years meet, and possibly mini meets in between....hint hint.:D
RustyH 10-10-2009, 09:11 PM WOW!!!!!! Awesome pics and it sounds like you guys had a great time. Although I have to question the legitimacy of this meet....not one Black Ridgeline!?!?!?! :D
Did anyone get any good pics of Lex Luthors interior. I'd love to see the Wet Okle headliner and arm rests.
I can only hope we get as many trucks to our upcoming Phoenix meet in November (Shameless plug here)
Anyway, keep the pics coming, it gives all of us who couldn't be there ourselves a chance to see what we're missing. :D
ridgeline2006 10-10-2009, 10:27 PM OK we will get some interior pictures of Lex Luthor as soon as we can. Here is one page of more to come. The faces that go with the Ridgelines. I will have more up tomorrow. Just the beginning.

I have added this to my favorites folder so I can keep checking back and put faces to names, ect... Thank you Tony! (see, it's helping already:D)
Lex Luthor 10-11-2009, 09:08 AM WOW, I HAD A BALL! I would like to thank Ridgeline2006, Tony and Djeaux, Joe for organizing this event. We had fun. I really tend to be shy at times but meeting people that enjoy thier Ridgelines is fun. I had an opportunity to have dialog with Dan & Denise from California who are getting ready to spend some time in the FRENCH QUARTER in New Orleans. I also had an opportunity to hook up my new buddy, VIC with some NEW ORLEANS RED BEANS and FRIED CATFISH :). Rolltide, Phil and I talked about Alabama football and LSU. Florida did dominate LSU and FLORIDA is a GREAT TEAM! LSU and ALABAMA will be another great match up. I would like to thank DJEAUX for adding my newest mod under my hood. I also enjoyed talking with Eddie and Karen, some Shreveport Louisiana homies. I also enjoyed talking with another home boy Starfixer, Robert and enjoyed watching him and Eddie with the SWAP SHOP on tail light exchange. I enjoyed meeting LarryR and finding out that he knows something about everything. LarryR is VERY knowledgeable about Honda products and computers. I am seeking advice and help for my good buddy TONY. I witnessed Tony speaking to his IMMACULATELY CLEAN 2006 RIDGELINE and saying " I'm SORRY YOU HAVE TO BE OUTSIDE IN THIS RAIN!" Yes, the ROC members that attended this event were witnesses to TONY'S RIDGELINE getting rained on for the first time! In conclusion, TONY YOU ARE REALLY DA MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
meanmachine19 10-11-2009, 09:46 AM Some really nice pics guys! Those trucks look fantastic and it's nice to put faces with the names. Looks like everyone had a great time and wish I could have been there! :p
djeaux 10-11-2009, 11:07 AM Thanks for posting the other photos, Tony! The "Spankie & the Gang" picture is great! I hope RustyH is drooling over those pics of Jimmy's Wet Okole custom upholstery! This was a memorable day & a lot of fun. (I still think we should've sicked Jimmy on the pagans, though ;))
oarnold 10-11-2009, 11:24 AM Looks like a lot of fun! Congrats on a successful meet. Thanks for posting all the photos so we can see the trucks together.
ridgeline2006 10-11-2009, 11:29 AM More pictures are posted with more to come. I need those who took pictures to send them to my email at the bottom of this page.
Just follow the links
I am working on the video taken which will be posted on youtube. I will post the link here and on the webpage

5S Dude 10-11-2009, 11:44 AM Wow! Those are some awesome shots Tony. It’s so great to see so many enthusiastic groups of Ridgeline owners from around the country getting together for a meet & greet.
Very well done, and we finally get to match faces to names! Keep those photos flowin……
djeaux 10-11-2009, 12:15 PM I might add that Fla-Vyk was proudly showing his new 5S door sills (not yet installed). Several other folks had 'em, too! Your work is truly "global" art!
5S Dude 10-11-2009, 12:20 PM Thank you kind sir! It's really the members of this great club that make this truck so special.
Looks like I'm gonna have to make the drive out there to install Lex's Cubby Cover for him though.......... Keep the meet alive with those awesome photos guys!!
starfixer 10-11-2009, 02:08 PM well while you are at it.... I am only a short drive on the way there or back ..:) i do need to get with you to finalize it though and after seeing the craftsmanship and look (and even touched them...lol). I cannot wait till get it worked out. Tony working on getting what few pics I took to you but are from my I Phone.
djeaux 10-11-2009, 02:15 PM I think you need to post a picture of your "Law Enforcement Officer" cab, starfixer. That is a bunch of lights, switches, ra-did-io equiment & all. Get a laptop mount & you're better equipped that the Miss'ippi Highway Patrol! :D
Cajun Country Ridgeline 10-11-2009, 03:18 PM That was some great pictures. Thanks for putting the faces with the Ridgelines. I also have saved the pictures. Glad everyone had a great time.
That was some really sharp looking Ridgelines.:D
ridgeline2006 10-11-2009, 04:32 PM That was some great pictures. Thanks for putting the faces with the Ridgelines. I also have saved the pictures. Glad everyone had a great time.
That was some really sharp looking Ridgelines.:D
We sure missed you be with us this year. I working on video so we can upload to youtube.
On another subject, does any member have the ROC Map for their region? Like the one I am using for my signature. If you do please email it to me.
LarryR, Fla-Vyk FMS1 and anyone else that took pictures, if you could please email some of them to me.. Thanks for all the help...
larryr 10-11-2009, 04:45 PM I just got home - I will upload all my pictures to Picassa when I get unpacked.
Man that is a long drive when it it raining.
What's left to say about our outing that hasn't already been said. Thanks to many for a great time. We always have a great time visiting and telling stories with each other. Talk about some nice trucks and mods. Too many to mention.
As Joe and Jimmy mentioned it was priceless to see Tonys face when he thought it would rain on his truck again. Karen thinks it's too funny that men put so much time and money in their trucks and then want to show them off.
Tony, I will email you pictures when we return home at the end of the week. Thanks again to all for a great time and to Joe and Tony for the awards they gave out. Hope to see ya soon.
ROLLTIDE 10-11-2009, 07:12 PM Well I got home about 6:30pm and man what a trip.1009.4 miles round trip and I would do it again in a heart beat. This was my first meet and I had a great time.It was great meeting every one, checking out all the trucks and the different ways every one as there trucks personalize.A special thank you to Joe and Jimmy for setting all this up.:):)
FLA-Vyk 10-11-2009, 10:50 PM Well I made it home approx 5:30p, great time guys. Waiting for the next one, hope to everyone soon. Vic

djeaux 10-12-2009, 12:10 PM There you have it, folks -- photographic proof that Tony's truck got rained on! :D
25 Year Honda Owner 10-12-2009, 12:48 PM There you have it, folks -- photographic proof that Tony's truck got rained on! :D
Wow, what a shame!! There has to always be a first time for everything. He probably has the in-bed trunk full of "sham wows" just for this type of emergency. BTW, what is it with all the tea drinking!!
ridgeline2006 10-12-2009, 01:10 PM Wow, what a shame!! There has to always be a first time for everything. He probably has the in-bed trunk full of "sham wows" just for this type of emergency. BTW, what is it with all the tea drinking!!
Jimmy said I cry to much. Go figure. That is not tea, that was Crown and Coke.
Lex Luthor 10-12-2009, 01:42 PM After much thought today, I will admit that Tony & Djeaux did a FANTASTIC job of organizing this meet at CRUISING THE COAST. The FOOD was GREAT, the CONVERSATION was GREAT, the ROC members that attended were GREAT. I realize this and I'm sure that KEITH would too if he was in town. I figure that KEITH MUST be AWOL because we have not heard from him. Maybe Keith went with Obama to get the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE in OSLO, NORWAY. I figured that since Chicago lost the olympics, they awarded OBAMA the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE! Afterall, KEITH was the FIRST ROC member to acknowledge that he could not attend the meet. TONY & DJEAUX , you deserve the ROC MEET AWARD. I can't wait until 2010. We WILL BE BIGGER and BETTER. We will try to book rooms across from the Beau Rivage along the beach. We will be able to watch the cars from the front yard of the hotel. Keith will be proud of TONY & DJEAUX!:):D:eek:We sure wish you could have made it KEITH. This could have been an opportunity to put some break in miles on your new car!
djeaux 10-12-2009, 03:01 PM Maybe Keith went with Obama to get the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE...
I think Keith is devastated that he didn't win the Nobel Peace Prize! :D But yeah, he could have gotten some break in miles on the Maxima ... or maybe some break down miles ;)
Folks, this was a great weekend event, and we're already talking about a bigger & better Crusin' the Coast III in October 2010. Tony did a helluva job organizing the meet. I just can't say that enough. He went the proverbial extra mile with very limited time & resources, and he "done good!"
djeaux 10-12-2009, 03:03 PM BTW, what is it with all the tea drinking!!
The guys with the 1957 Nomad drank the bar dry ;)

I will make it next year if I can get on the beach for 3 nights. Not driving that far for anyting less!! Great job with the meet and the pics! Great pics!!
djeaux 10-12-2009, 07:30 PM Just thought I'd link to one of Tony's pics for those of you who are too lazy to follow the link! (Tony is not in this photo...)

Lex Luthor 10-12-2009, 08:36 PM OK TONY, DUNCAN has drawn the line in the sand. Is there any other request? How about FLA-VYK?????????We will guarantee to supply you with some CAJUN STYLE NEW ORLEANS RED BEANS AND FRIED CAT FISH!!FMS1- Eddie & Karen, we will book close to Beau Rivage :) so that the slots will be close. RollTide, we do what it takes. DNICK & Denise, we expect you to come back. Starfixer, we will allow you to direct traffic with all those fancy strobe lights. LarryR, we will all bring our engineering problems to you to solve. Djeaux, all you need is a LSU hat. Ridgeline2006, Tony Da REAL MAN, we will supply an enclosed trailer to keep the RIDGE out of the RAIN!:pWhat can we do to get RustyH to come show us that GOOD LOOKING RIDGE?
RustyH 10-12-2009, 09:50 PM As long as there's no conflict with the Sedona meet in June...I wouldn't mind taking a week or so off and making the drive back to Big Easy for a visit. The last time we were there, my wife and I only had a day to check things out before hitting the road again. I should have at least three weeks saved up by then (assuming I still have a state job) so figure three days driving out, three days driving back with about four days stay wouldn't be bad. Keep me in the loop.
ridgeline2006 10-13-2009, 10:53 PM OK I am working on next year arrangements for ROC'n the Coast which will be held During Cruisin the Coast Oct 3-10 2010. We are going to put together hotel rooms that we can all stay and we are hoping to make ROC'n the Coast a two or three day event. I am in contact with a hotel on beach blvd and I am starting by blocking twenty rooms for the ROC. Food should not be a problem, there are many great places to choose from. Next year will be bigger and better and I hope that everyone that attended this year will return and we invite those you couldn't to join us. Although it is a year away the time will fly by so mark you calendar and join us. I just hope I did not disappoint anyone this year and I hope to make next year even better. I am open to any suggestions so don't hesitate, send me your ideas and we will try to improved the 2010 Rally.
I have video that I have posted on youtube. This is the group entering the National Park.
