Problems with fit on OEM Ridgeline Floor Liners.

I bought these liners (http://www.handa-accessories.com/ridgelineint.html) from H & A (scroll down to floor liners).

I think they are made by Weathertech.

Anyways, I don't know if they are supposed to fit snugly but these definitely don't hug the edges.

Is this normal?

The first pic is what they should look like.

The subsequent pics are what they look like in my truck.

The second and third pic are the passenger side. Note the space closest to the door.

The fourth and fifth are the driver's side. Note the even larger space close to the door.

For those that own Weather Tech Digital Fit products - is this space normal?

Thanks for any info. :)

well I have the OEM all weather mats in my RL.
post your pic and I'll tell you for sure whether or not it's the
same as mine. if you're expecting it to cover all of the carpet
perfectly, that's not going to happen with these mats.

Mine are the OEM all weather mats also there is about 1/2 inch between the floor mat and side panel or console that is exposed carpet. Thats just how they are made. I you want some that take up the entire floor board panel to panel you need to look up weather tech and check out the thread on them in the group buy section for better pics and explanation.

Is it possible the OEM mats are not Weathertech's DigitalFit mats and possibly be their All-Weather mat?

The DigitalFit mats are custom formed to the RL. The All-Weather mats are stock mats that offer the closest match to the RL, but not a custom fit.

Hi PizzaMan - I think they are Weathertech mats. As you know i participated in your group buy. I bought these front sets because I wanted the Ridgeline brand on them ( I am selling my Weathertech front mats to someone). I will post pics of the spacing issue that I am talking about after lunch.

Hi PizzaMan - I think they are Weathertech mats.
I realize they are Weathertech Mats, but WT offers two different mat sets for the RL.

One being the DigitalFit and custom made specifically for the Ridgeline.

The other being what they call their All-Weather Mat. From their website:

All-Weather Floor Mats were intended to give the best possible protection for your vehicle floor. Many of our front mat applications are vehicle specific, while others are determined to be the best possible fit for the application from our many shapes and sizes.

This link (http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvproduct.aspx?ItemGroupId=3&VehId=1202&Year=2006) will take you to the WT site page showing the All-Weather mat and how it fits on the RL. It appears to me the All-Weather Mat does not have the same amount of coverage as the Digital Fit.

Pizza is exactly right! The all weather mat doesn't cover the entire area. You have to order the DigitalFit ones to get complete coverage. Why else would they offer the two different styles????

Did you look at the mats in the first post? They offer the same coverage as the Digital Fit mats. I did not order the all weather mats.

The first pic is the ones I ordered, the second is the Digital Fit from weathertech.

From your pictures, is it not the exact same mat, with "WeatherTech" replaced with "Ridgeline" on the badge?

Are the new mats not exactly the same footprint as your other ones from WeatherTech?

Did you look at the mats in the first post?
The rib pattern shown on the inset photo matches the DigitalFit pattern. The All-Weather Mat has a completely different pattern. I cannot offer a reason for the poor fit. I'm curious to hear how the DigitalFit mats you purchased on the group buy compare to the ones you bought through H&A.

One Group Buy purchaser commented on the perfect fit. Something is different.

Which is exactly what I tried to say in post 6!

I haven't received my mats from weathertech as yet. The ETA on delivery is by the end of the week.

Please see first post for picture of the issue I am describing.

I am wondering if it is because I am driving an 09 Ridge.

I owned an 08 before and the interior seems smaller.......

Anyways, see first post for pics of the issue.

looks like they got a bit squished down in transit or something to me. They should flatten out once it gets a good and warm inside the cab, if not we can take care of replacements.

here's pictures of them in a 2009 on our lot.

Here are a couple of pics of my driver side mat, it appears to custom fit in comparison to yours. Mine are made by Weathertech, its clearly indicated on the back of the Mat.
Excuse the mud and dirt....the mats are just doing their job.

The first thing you should do is sell your truck. Then there will be no problem with the floor mats.

First, As I paid $100 bucks for these mats, I think I am entitled to a product that meets specifications.

Secondly the fact that they pull away from the door sill is a huge problem. One reason for buying these mats is to keep water, sludge, dirt etc. away from the carpet. That space basically detracts from the whole point of buying these mats. It is not a matter of aesthetics merely function.

Thirdly, I asked Mr Bigs if his fit fine out of the box because his statement indicates that they did fit fine out of the box. If that is the case, then what evidence/reason is there for suggesting to let them break in. Any owner of these mats surely realizes that it will take more than ambient heat to cause these things to change shape. Thus it is unlikely IMO that these mats will "fix themselves" by sitting on the floor "chilling out" in the summer weather. Chemistry Lesson 101, heat generally causes things to shrink. Thus the reason for asking for a clarification of his statement.

Lastly, as you have nothing to contribute to the topic of this thread, maybe you should refrain from making comments about things you obviously know nothing about. There is always at least one person like you - even in a great forum like this one.

Unfortunately, you are not alone. I made mention of this problem with our Weathertech Digital Fits in our Subaru Outback (see Post #9 here: http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28634&highlight=subaru+mats). I haven't had a chance to contact Weathertech about this, but hope to in the near future.

I knew I had read about this on the forum somewhere! Thank you for the link. I am going to request a replacement from Trevor over at H&A today. He has been really helpful so far and I see no issue with getting a replacement set!

Wrong. Most materials have a positive thermal expansion coefficient; i.e., those things expand when heated. Chemistry professor?

I acknowledge the chemistry lesson. Thanks!

As for Mr. Bigs' statement you are missing the most important part. He said "Mine fit fine". This is counter intuitive to they are twisted in the box from packaging. Thus it is unclear what he means.

Rather than this be war of semantics - how about this - post a reply if you have something constructive to say. There is less of a chance that you will piss people off.

I maintain that you attacked me and did not add anything to this thread by your asinine reply. As a reminder this was your magnificent contribution:

What fits fine for one person may not fit fine for another. The fit you are unhappy with.. may well be another person's perfect fit.

I believe the Subaru poster with the mats that have pulled away indicated the problem occurred after a couple of years of use. I would be interested to know what WT thinks about that and if it is a common issue.

While my WT floor liners don't fit to the millimeter, they are close enough that I am happy with them. Your expectations may be higher than mine.

It would be interesting to compare how our liners fit since we are reasonably close to one another.

The problem with English as a language is that it is open to many interpretations. For example, I had originally said:

Hi PizzaMan - I think they are Weathertech mats. As you know i participated in your group buy. I bought these front sets because I wanted the Ridgeline brand on them ( I am selling my Weathertech front mats to someone). I will post pics of the spacing issue that I am talking about after lunch.

Yet you asked:

And again, this is what you said originally:

Yet you have the audacity to say:

I tried to tell you that is EXACTLY what he meant. Written right there in English. ;)

All you did was insult me for asking for a clarification Mr.Bigs reply.

Hopefully this will shut you up for good as I now have proof that the mats were indeed cut badly.
I installed my mats from weathertech today and guess what - the fit perfectly.

I honestly don't know why you replied to this thread - do you even own a set of these mats?

I would appreciate it if this will end here.

My questions have been answered and hopefully my new set from H&A will fit fine.

See attached pictures of the weathertech set.

^ well those ones fit great.

I too decided to get the fronts that say Ridgeline from H and A and then
I ordered a back set from weather tech. all in black, so it all matches.
I hope the ones that I get fit like your above picture, and not your first set.
