Thank you for the post. We would like to help you with your tire needs.

We currently are unable to mail order Firestone products but I do have a great tire model that will suit your needs.

Hankook builds their DynaPro ATM RF10 in the factory 245/65-17 size. This tire is getting great reviews from off road enthusiast. The ride quality on road is superb and with aggressive sipes in the tread blocks, handles well in wet and snow conditions. These sipes also reinforce the tread block for increased longevity. The ATM can be aired down to low pressure providing better traction in sand. Here's a couple links with more details.

those seem pretty good. are they load rated? don't really want a stiffer ride

The ATM in the 245/65-17 size has a 105 load index (2039lbs). They are not a LT (light truck) tire but rather P-Metric meaning they are 4 ply rated which is the same as the OE tires. This size/model will not make the ride stiff.
