A truck that defies categorization

On a limestone-littered trail slicing through Texas Hill Country, our 2009 edition of Honda's Ridgeline sport utility truck (SUT) applies torque from a powerful V6 engine to all wheels so tire treads maintain a keen grip as we bump over so many sharp-edged stones.

The vehicle doesn't slip or slide as the wheels, suspended independently front and rear, dribble across the rocky steps. A tall stance, with eight inches of ground clearance, allows Honda's SUT to trudge over a lot of lumpy ground far from the comfort of a paved road.

Funny, limited on payload. The Ridgeline has a higher payload capacity of any of the compact trucks and most if not some of the full size trucks (IIRC).

The Rideline has different traits than other trucks but it can ccomplish the same as other compact pick-ups.

Very true, and other compact trucks do offer the handling, ride or comfort of an RL for road trips.

But the 2009 Honda RL will not pull over a date nut palm tree - even in 4 wheel drive ! Damn - now I have to pay someone to take it down.:act047:

I was going to say that that's a sweet looking truck, but the Honda Ridgeline really cannot "pull over a date nut palm tree"?

Seems like such a waste. For all that truck, I would expect more from its performance.
