IMHO, this is the missing thread in this forum. Newcomers, shoppers, interested folks, considering the Ridgeline as their next major purchase, wants to know what owners feel and think about the Ridgeline. Having to sort through the forum, on different threads, about everything under the sky is quiet intimidating if not time consuming. Time has become the prime factor of consideration in the modern world of which no one has an excess supply of.
So, why not add a category titled "Testic..." oops sorry, "Testimonials":D
"I came across a road construction today; basically all you saw were signs posted "caution-bump", the road was totally gutted but still open to traffic. Every single vehicle, top end down to low ends had to slow down to 15 mph due to road conditions....aha! says I, watch this folks!!! I got up to 45 mph. passed every single vehicle on the road, the Silver Bullet just floated on air!!! of course you could hear the rumble under you, but the body of the truck isolated you from the suspension! Oh what a feeling!!:D :D

Try speed bumps. The RL is the speed bump champ hands down.

And uneven railroad tracks are no match for the Ridgeline.

Rumble strips going into toll booths! Don't hardly notice them either:D

All this abuse and oddly enough, unlike Edmunds, your struts stayed together. ;)

Not intending to drive further off topic but I love to watch F150s, F250s, F350s, Silverados, Dodge whatevers, approach a speed bump, stop, roll up and over it, then roar away - up to the next one. I just ignore them and drive over them, ideally at a bit of an angle, at normal speed. Hardly a jiggle! It must drive the other truck owners nuts watching us NOT hit our heads on the roof going over a speed bump. When they are off road in the woods I wonder if they do the same thing?

Back on topic, a testimonial forum is good idea. They do tend to get scattered throughout the ROC, which is OK, but for those that want a place to post their overall opinions, this could be the place. Perhaps "Testimonials and Owner Reviews", although somewhat redundant, might be a good heading. It would be a place where a new visitor and potential Ridgeline owner could go to get a quick sense of how Ridgeline owners feel about their vehicle. It would be sort of the Readers Digest version of the entire ROC site.

For what it's worth, there is a similar thread about the ROC itself that has been dormant for a while. http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1450&page=2

There's a rather large dip in the road here in Topanga... I started thinking of it as a feature, not a bug, because it forces people to slow down right before entering town (which is what they should be doing anyway)... this dip has gotten a lot worse -- the ground underneath the road is apparently eroding... when I take it in my Insight, even at 25-30 mph (speed limit is 45 mph) it's quite a jolt, and the rear end of the car actually gets a little airborne!

In the Ridgeline, it's like... dip? What dip? Did you see a dip, honey? The sign says there was a dip in the road... I thought I felt a little jiggle... figured it was just gas... :D

The little things add up, too. Last night we went to dinner and wifey scolded me for not wearing a jacket. On the way home she was shivering and I reached and activated her seat heater. Problem solved. I love this truck.:D

Kicked in the seat heaters for the first time the last couple of late evenings coming home from the office. Very toasty and comfortable on a cold, damp night.

This is quoted from shovelhd in another thread:

"Mine was made in March and bought in April. I have a few niggling problems that I'll eventually get fixed by the dealer, but nothing that affects the pleasure of driving this truck.

I work it as hard, or harder, than any of the last 7 trucks I've owned. I've towed 4800 pounds, filled the bed with 1400 pounds of concrete, hauled dozens of 16' 2x8 PT boards on a Hitch-Hand, and carried several very expensive big screen tv's from the shipping dock to their eventual customer. Between the work, I've taken the family on many pleasurable rides in the country, and commuted daily to my day job. I've driven through whiteouts, teeming downpours, torn up roads under construction, on long highway trips, and everything in between. This truck does it all with stature and grace. It's the best truck I've ever owned, hands down."

Hope you don't mind Chris:)

HEY RIDGELINE!

This is the perfect vehicle for me. It's an affordable luxury car, SUV, and Truck all rolled into one. It looks so unique in a very nice way, the front is aggressive looking, the side looks gracefully beautiful. The cab is uniquely functional, comfortable and well layed out. The console is the best designed console in the market and full of usable space and function. The climate control on the RTL is usually found in luxury cars. The doors and tailgate closes and opens in a solid manner, and the tailgate opens two ways! Unique only to the Ridgeline! The lockable and weather tight in-bed trunk is also unique to the Ridgeline, and is amazingly large (8.5 cu ft) and access to the spare is the easiest among all production vehicles. The engine and power train are perfectly designed for the Ridgeline, in performance. I've driven my Ridgeline for seven months, still today, my heart goes pitter patter at seing him, and the acticipation of driving him is exalerating. He is the son I've never had or the father I no longer have.:)

LOVE my Ridge!

It is comfortable, luxurious even, in feel. I can be motoring down the highway and I feel like I am sitting in a big comfie chair in my livingroom. The ride is quiet and stress-free. Climate control is excellent. Sounds system is great, even if it is stock.

The safety features can't be matched. I love that it has a ton of airbags. I feel safe and secure in my Ridge. On rain drenched roads, I don't feel that I could hydroplane at any moment. It grips the road securely.

It carries all my kids and camping gear with room to spare. I can carry more than my Odyssey van (except passengers), and tow more without feeling I have anything behind me. There are so many little nooks and crannies to store stuff, I don't feel like I am buried in clutter.

It gets lots of looks, smiles, nods and mouthed "nice truck" 's. I like feeling cool in my truck. Not many vehicles and sensible and cool at the same time.

Best of all, its fun to drive. Its not truck-y feeling when accelerating or cornering, and I can go (almost) anywhere or over anything.

YES!!! What Hez and Hey Ridgeline said, totally concur.:D Another thing, watching that video, amazed me how it handled in autocross skid test. I personally, let it all out on one occassion, on a lonely road, pushed the pedal to the floor! I got it up to 105 mph before I ran out of asphalt! I was extremely amazing how solid it handled! Not one indication of weakness in anyway. It was fun! :D

In my 50 years of driving (46 of them legally :D) and owning cars and trucks, the RL is the best overall total package I have ever owned. Not perfect, but extremely well thought out and executed. Need I say more?

What better testimonial can there be than a new truck coming out and a forum building up around it with a membership list equal to about 5% of the total ownership?

Add onto that the fact that most of us wouldn't trade our Ridgeline for any other production vehicle available. I might take a Ferrari, but only so I could sell it and buy another Ridgeline and have gas money ;).

For my second trip to Florida by car from Massachusetts, I would not have traded the comfort, convenience or performance of the Ridgeline for anything, it was an excellent trip, that each day as I came to the close of the driving day I wanted to keep going.
