ChrisM 09-10-2009, 05:04 PM OK. I'm looking for a tire to run on the stock rims that is a little more aggressive looking than stock (this is important to me) and will fill out the wheel wells a little better than my current stock tires do now. I have a 2" Truxxx lift. I would like to keep the gas mileage in the same ballpark as what I am getting now (16 city/21 highway) and don't want a particularly loud tire.
Is this possible?

He has a lift, but they fit well without it.
skulli69 09-10-2009, 07:13 PM Have you looked at the Bridgestone selection?
The Bridgestone Dueler APT IV with Uni-T may be one to check into for your purpose.

Qxtreem 09-10-2009, 07:55 PM I would suggest Goodyear Silent Armor. A little aggressive but not over done. Quiet and low flex should keep your mpg near same.
I have the Duratrac and they are quite noisy but people love the look, and I love the feel.

Thank you for the post.
I would take a close look at the Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10. This tire is available in the Standard Load size 265/65-17 which is 1" taller and .75" wider when compared to your factory size. This will help fill up the wheel wells and is an approved size for the OE 7.5" wide wheels. This model/size is only 5lbs heavier than the factory tires so you should not see a significant decrease in fuel economy. In fact, this size comes with a 50K mile tread life warranty which is great for an all terrain. Here's a link with more details:

Is this an all season tire? I drive quite a bit in snow. I didn't see this information on your website. Your website says it is an all terrain tire but not all season. I have seen a couple of other websites that claim this is an all season tire.

The Hankook ATM RF10 is an all terrain tire and can be run year round. This model has a lot of stapled (zig zag) sipes which is what gives you all season or snow/ice traction. Check out the product details:

If you drive in a lot of snow I recommend swapping out to a dedicated winter tire for the winter months but if that is not an option for you, the ATM RF10 is a great alternative.

It depends on your set up.
If you have stock wheels and stock suspension, you may experience rubbing and modifications may have to be made.

We have this tire on an '08 Frontier NISMO. Very happy with it and actually saw a slight increase in mileage over the stock BFG's. Good balance of highway/all terrain. Haven't had them in snow yet as they were just put on this spring. See this thread link: http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showpost.php?p=427671&postcount=4

245/70-17 is a pretty safe bet but may rub at full turn.
Row5ss 09-19-2009, 12:06 PM pardon my ignorance but if it rubs at full turn what effects will it have on the tire/truck? obviously at full turn you are not moving quickly..

Some people don't like any rubbing regardless of when it happens. Rubbing at full turn can take chunks out of the tire depending on how fast you are going.

anybody running this size without a lift?? or mods? feedback would be great on whether there is rubbing and when it happens how the tire is holding up? thanks much appreciated!!
ChrisM 10-03-2009, 03:33 AM Update - I ordered the Hankooks from the local Discount Tire Direct store near Dayton OH yesterday. I will give you an update on how they look and drive in the next week or so.
The store tried to charge me more for the tires than what you have posted on your website.($10 more per corner) Are there any discount codes or coupons I need to give them to adjust the price?
Thanks for the help from this great sponsor and from all of you who contributed. :)

There's no discount codes you can use but our local stores can typically match online delivered prices. Tell them what we are selling them for online and see if they will match it.
RustyH 10-03-2009, 07:30 PM My local Discount Tire Store said they'd match the online price, but would have to charge me more for mounting, balancing and all the rest because I was bringing in the tires myself, so the savings quickly disappeared. I tried to explain the tires were coming from the same company, but that didn't change their minds. I wound up buying tires they had in stock, but they had to meet my BOTTOM LINE PRICE. They kept coming back with the price a little lower and I had to tell them "that's great, you're almost there." They didn't meet my price until after the third "too high" offer and I told them thanks, I'll get back to you and grabbed my keys and started to walk out the door. BTW...The gift card I won helped them meet the price, so thank you Discount Tire.Com
