Dnick 09-15-2009, 11:24 PM Hellooo Tennessee! ! !
Keep me posted on your plans. I'm on a major road trip with the wife; right now we're mid-state Oregon, on our Way to Grand Teton & Yellowstone via Boise. We spent last night at Crater Lake National Parks!
We plan to be in/around Bowling Green & Nashville areas on or about 4th or 5th of October. We hadn't planned on going as far east as Knoxville, but if it fits our plans to join you we sure will. We had planned to head south from Nashville to Pensacola via Burmingham, but who knows, we could always deviate for the sake of a ROC meet. So as I say, keep us up to date with your plans, and we'll join you if we can. BTW, we launched our road trip from the San Diego area about 10 days ago. Nothin' but fun so far.
FYI, we're joining the Gulf Coast ROC gang for a meet in Biloxi, Mississippi on the 11th of October. Anyone game for a mini road trip of your own? That meet coincides with the "Cruzin' the Coast" custom car & rod week down there.
We'll keep our ears on when we have internet access & look forward to hearing what your plans are. Adios,
Dnick

Thanks Tiffany!
25 Year Honda Owner 09-16-2009, 08:00 AM Little too far for me and a 1 day meet, 360 mile round trip. Better check your calendar and avoid UT ball game weekends. For years I have avoided Knoxville due to traffic, congestion, and construction. Came home via Knoxville from our Pigeon Forge meet a couple of months ago and was presently surprised. Buzzed through Knoxville at 65/70 mph with do delays.
frkytky712 09-16-2009, 08:07 AM They finally got all that construction done downtown so it's not as bad. I missed you in June when you did the Pigeon Forge meet. Maybe we will see you at the next one! :)

That's cool man I just knew you were a tn local and am trying to round up some people so we can meet and check out the trucks. I gotta be in knoxville around that weekend anyway so I figured I would try to get some locals together for a little meet
Don't know if I can make it yet. Are y'all planning a run through the Dragon?
xd9x19 09-16-2009, 09:10 AM I suggest Clingman's Dome at sunrise!!!
07_rtx 09-16-2009, 09:29 AM Don't know if I can make it yet. Are y'all planning a run through the Dragon?
Depends on how much interest this meet gets and what everyone wants to do. I'm up for anything if we can get everyone to come then we will definitely plan some activities. If nothing else this will be a small get together and can start planning a bigger meet at a better date unless this date is reasonable for everyone
TN Ridgeline 09-16-2009, 12:36 PM Hey Dusty...thanks for the PM. I had totally missed this thread. I hope things get set for the first weekend in October, that would work great with my schedule. My wife is taking her LSAT on Sept 26th so that weekend is a wash for me. Keep me posted on what is decided, I'd love to get together with some fellow RL owners. Turkey Creek is the perfect spot, I totally back that suggestion. We can be at the Dragon in about 45 mins from there also if anyone is up for a run through the Gap.
07_rtx 09-16-2009, 12:57 PM Sounds fine to me it seems as if the first week in october works better for everyone. This is a discussion thread we will figure out exact time place and plans in the next thread I make here in a day or so when I know everyone is comfortable with the set date and location.
MMsRTL 09-16-2009, 02:35 PM you can most likely count me in for any day or location around Knoxville.
:D
07_rtx 09-16-2009, 02:46 PM Sweet man! This is gonna be a descent meet after all so far looks like we have atleast 4 people for sure and would love to see more people there! Anyone interested in the meet but has a different time frame in mind please post up so we can get an official date set. Thus far activities look like dinner and a ride on the dragon. Plus I think Tiffany's meeting location is good with everyone so that will be official. I will entertain all offers then update the thread of exact time place and activities either tonight or by the end of the week for sure. Help me help us make this a great meet!
Enola59 09-16-2009, 04:23 PM Thanks for the PM, as far as Knoxville thats a little far right now, but if you decide to drive the dragon I might could make that part of it. Please keep me posted.
07_rtx 09-16-2009, 04:28 PM Will do! So far that is part of the plan
25 Year Honda Owner 09-16-2009, 07:04 PM Will do! So far that is part of the plan
Just some advice!! If you are going to do the Dragon or even Cherohala, you may want to get closer than Knoxville. I would suggest Maryville, Robinsville, or Fontana Village.
07_rtx 09-16-2009, 07:40 PM I will keep that in mind and do some researching on it. Thanks!
72coupe 09-16-2009, 07:42 PM Hello TN; the wife and are planing a 4 day trip to young harris ga to vist friends. only 150 miles to knoxville. we miss knoxville since they canceled the Honda Hoot, Keep the info coming

Dnick, the date for Gulf Coast ROC Rally is Oct 10th not the 11th so we will be in touch with the activities for the 10th....
25 Year Honda Owner 09-17-2009, 08:39 AM Knoxville meet
Location: Turkey Creek 10900 Parkside Drive Knoxville, TN 37934
When: Saturday October 10, 2009
Time: Around noon or so (flexible)
Activities: Meet and greet in parking lot followed by lunch at a decided restaurant and off to ride the dragon.
Dusty, be advised that the "leaf lookers" will be out in force that weekend. It will be about 1 1/2 hours to the Dragon from Knoxville. You will want to go on 129 to Alcoa/Maryville in lieu of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg due to the crowds, closer also. You should consider going the other few miles to Fontana if you and others have never been there. Tallest dam in the eastern US!! BTW, October 10th is Tennessee vs Georgia in Knoxville, this is not good!!
Enola59 09-17-2009, 11:56 AM If your planning the dragon on the 10th, I work that weekend so I cant make it, but I will try again another time. Good luck with the meet.
07_rtx 09-17-2009, 01:09 PM The dragon is still an activity that's on the fence its not 100% decided. But we may just have a small meet in knoxville. All you knoxville locals or anyone who plans on being in knoxville let me know when you would be available for a few hour meet on a saturday
j-wood 09-18-2009, 01:00 AM hey man thanks for the post i would be very interested in this meet i am at college in west tennessee but i will try to make it home that weekend to go to that meet thank u for letting me know in advance hope to see all of u in turkey creek
07_rtx 09-18-2009, 07:25 AM Ill keep you posted on when the set date will be. Im waiting on one more person to give me their schedule then its a go
07_rtx 09-18-2009, 09:10 AM Alright guys I think we have a date set possibly. Thinking it will be October 3rd now we just need to set a time. I'm thinking between 12:00 noon and 3:00 pm would be the ideal times but just need to know everyones availability. I have about a 2 hour drive so the time is kinda important for me so I'm not late or finding things to do to kill time
MMsRTL 09-18-2009, 01:19 PM 10/3 is fine with me. whatever time is also fine. just decide what's best
for the rest of the crowd and post it up and I'll be there then.
07_rtx 09-20-2009, 06:41 PM October 3rd is our set date and it will be at Turkey Creek. Just waiting to figure out the time frame
72coupe 09-21-2009, 08:40 PM Thanks for the Info, Not this time, I would love to drive the dragon with other RL owners,
Enola59 09-23-2009, 01:21 PM 07', thanks for putting the info out there. A little long for me this time, about a 3 1/2 hr trip for me. I want to bring the family with me when I come to a meet some time, I'll need to plan it as a mini vacation and plan ahead. Everyone, I hope the meet goes well.
j-wood 09-26-2009, 01:01 AM hey october 3 works out fine and 12 sounds good too just pm me with all final stuff see u guys in turkey creek on the 3rd and if anyone has a roc decal can u bring it so i casn buy it or get it from u?
07_rtx 09-26-2009, 07:44 AM All details are on the Official Knoxville meet thread
07_rtx 09-30-2009, 03:47 PM 3 days till the knoxville meet! ROLL CALL!!! So speak up attendees so I know who is still going to be there.
