pop n lock for gate

Just got off the phone with PopnLock. Tech said there is no lock yet for an 09 Ridgeline, is that true? Looking for manual one

It has to do with the location of the Backup Camera on the '09. The camera goes in the same location as the P&L just below the tailgate latch.

If you don't have the camera the P&L may work, but I can't swear to it.

I have a Pop n Lock on my '09. Bought it on E-Bay. Same model as listed for the previous years. I don't have the Backup camera.

I have a price list from P&L from when the first Group Buy looked like it would turn into a second. The price went up significantly in a month's time. I just wanted to see if they've increased again since then. It appears they might have.

If there was to be a second GB, based on the revised pricing I have, I think it would come in at $65, shipped. My pricing may not be the latest, however.

Once again, I thank Joe (Pizza Man) for negotiating the first group buy for the Pop 'n Lock. Incredible that the price has gone up so much since the original group buy. Hope those interested can negotiate another ....less expensive...group buy.

Just have to say that my Pop 'n Lock has served me VERY well since I installed it. Perfect match to my black RL, and no problems so far with the mechanism. Outstanding purchase, IMHO.

I met a 09 SRL owner in AR three weeks ago and he had a Bed Cover put in by Honda and much to my surprise, the tailgate had a locking latch.

When every thing is closed, the back tail gate is locked.:eek::eek:

That's kind of my point. It's not difficult to come up with a jamming mechanism for the RL tailgate. In order to get something machined to accomplish the task and be easy to install you would expect to pay more than $15, but over 3 times more is crazy. I can say this after installing my own P&L and knowing what's involved.

You're not confused, Joe. There is a Bed Mat Group Buy that I'm currently working. My experience, however, comes from running a previous Group Buy for the Pop & Lock. Back then the P&L went for less than $50, shipped.

As a result of the first P&L Group Buy, I was set up as a P&L distributor. I recently received current pricing and it has increased significantly since the original Group Buy. I can run another Group Buy, at far less than $83, but in order to get the best pricing I need to sell 60 units to meet a minumum order requirement. After the first Group Buy, I doubt there would be enough interest to sell an additional 60 units.

Acording to PoP n Lock, he says even without the camera some locks fit 09's and some dont. I am guessing the latches may differ on models? I dunno but he says he gets calls that say it fits and other calls say NG.

According to my information, P&L will have a Lock Set specific to the '09 with it's own part number released shortly. My guess is they move the key assembly to the left side of the tailgate pull handle. The PL6000 series Lock Sets need to be installed on the right side.
