Hello All,
I was driving yesterday in stop-n-go traffic and my D light on the gear indicator display at IP started flashing. Didn't notice anything different. Did some searching online and found a lot of posts on Odyssey, Pilots but no Ridgelines.
Anyhow, took it in to the dealer and they found it to be the 3rd gear solenoid. Luckily I'm at 59,118 miles. Powertrain is 5 years/60,000. Just thought I'd post this if someone had it happen in the future. It can be other solenoids or the entire transmission may need to be replaced in some cases so it doesn't isolate one thing, but it is transmission-related.

Wow less than 900 miles till your out of warranty and this happened? You got lucky, usually it only happens right after warranty expires or atleast thats my luck . Thanks for posting this

Mine just did that too. I just picked up my new 2010 EXL yesterday with only 91 KM on it. I took it back and they scanned the computer and said they got a diagnostic code, diagnosed it as a computer 'glitch' and reset the computer and did a few checks and a road test. It seems to be fine now, but I've only put another 40KM on it so far. I sure hope I didn't get a bad tranny.

You still have a long time left on your warranty, so if it becomes a problem again then just take it back in. But being a brand new truck I would say it won't be the transmission rather a glitch as they said. You should be good to go from here on out. Good luck

Greg, you might have a severe glitch in your computer. Obviously it located and identifed the issue too soon, and should have waited until you were a couple of thousand miles out of warranty before letting you know you had a problem. :act060:

Yes, thanks for your reply. Based upon what others have written in the past, I'm chalking this one up to a computer glitch. I'm glad I have a whole long warranty remaining; based upon our '05 Civic, I doubt I'll ever need it. :cheerleader:

I just had this happen to me yesterday. My dealer is an hour drive away. I'm hoping this isn't a big thing. It's an '09 with just under 28K.
