It's a possibility. I can't say for 100% certain, but I'd like to try!

BannedUser 12-22-2005, 09:26 AM I see a lot of talk and no action here:D....come on..someone plan a meet. I'm up for a ride to the Windy City sometime soon after the 1st. :)
TheRidgester 12-22-2005, 10:40 AM I just looked SixOpRidge's Google earth map and it appears that more ROC members are in the suburban area than in the city.
I'm up for setting up the details and start the ball rolling. I'll have more time after the holidays but my initial thought is the Schaumburg area.
Plenty of space to plan activities, way to many restaurants, lodging etc...
Weekend of May 20th is a target date (week after mothers day)... I'll start checking availability of meeting areas.... I'll also start hounding the local Honda dealers to see if they would sponser us in any way:cool:
Any thoughts or comments?
Chathamite 12-22-2005, 11:34 AM Come on down to Springfield to take in the Lincoln sites, especially the new Lincoln Presidential museum. I feel I’m the only Ridgeline owner in Springfield and it would be nice to see more than one (mine) in the area!
ridgeln 12-23-2005, 07:41 PM You'll see mine in August (I've been to Springfield, IL in August every year for the last 5) - it was there last August!

Any thoughts on a trip to the INDY 500 speedway for the ROC?

We were shooting for May 20th in Schaumburg, unless someone has a better place that everyone could agree on... I just have not had anytime to plan for, as I'm in the final couple weeks of almost a 2 year home makeover... the Ridge has been a blast! Surprising what one can cram into and on a Ridge! A side note on home remolding... I wish Honda would open a home center and provide quality supplies... the Home Cheapo's , Lowes, Menards... They just plain Suck... customer service is mostly bad and their all understaffed, unless it's a grand opening, most of the supplies had to be exchanged for one or more reasons! I'm just plain sick of many wasted trips finding crud in boxes with missing parts etc...Last night alone we had to go to 5 yep (5) home depot's to find a shower door that was not broke, missing parts . Oh ya, each store called the next and confirmed they had it in stock:rolleyes:
Off soap box..... Anyway Unless someone wants the ball to put this together, I'll look into more options in a few weeks.. thanks:)

This Red Robin is in a very Large and busy Mall (WoodField Mall) and would be no where for us to park! Together that is... anyway I have a call into the Red Robin Manager as well as the Mall director, to try and organize parking for us.... let ya know when they respond:)

P&J Ridge 01-27-2006, 06:49 PM Here is some info, unfortunately its a Wednesday:
from the indy 500 website:
"American Family Insurance 500 Festival Community Day
May 24, 2006 9:00 AM
9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway
It's all access w/out the need for a credential. Be our VIP for the day as you circle the famous oval in your own vehicle, tour Gasoline Alley and Pit Row and visit with Indianapolis 500 drivers who participate in autograph sessions throughout the day. Fun for the whole family. For tickets, call (317) 614-6400."
Perkolater 01-28-2006, 07:56 AM EDIT:
The more I think about this...
I am concerned that any date around the Indy 500 may be too close to the already planned meet in Schamburg. So as not to intefer with all the planning that has already been done perhaps we should consider an Indy meet for next years 500, or for the USGP in July.
P&J Ridge 01-28-2006, 09:47 AM Agree. We can hold off on the Indy events for some time. I will try to make the Schamburg event. The Chuckie Cheese portion would be great if possible. Never been to a red robin, but willing to explore

scottIN 01-30-2006, 05:49 AM Not to hijack the Chicago thread, but I would be up for a meet in Indy-either '500' or USGP. Maybe we could get Tony George to let us take a photo up on the Winner's Circle. :)

oldcoastie 04-26-2007, 01:46 PM Maybe we should try to find out from anyone who's interested who lives where in the area.
I live far south, chisoxjim lives far west, and johnk1 lives north-northwest.
The south region up to about I-55 could also be reached by Hoosiers, John's area could be easily reached by those beyond the cheddar curtain, and chisoxjim's area could be attended by folks from - Wyoming, I guess. ;)
Where, oh where, will the twain meet? :D
chisoxjim 04-26-2007, 01:58 PM good one jeff,

Depending on how many want to show up, maybe the dealer from whom I bought my Ridge would host us. But I won't even call him unless there are more than three of us!
Travel between north and south sections is a real problem now that the tollway is being "rebuilt" from O'Hare north to the cheddar curtain.
Although...the three of us could meet somewhere and swap war stories... :p

Qxtreem 04-28-2007, 06:37 AM Lets meet. Lets let the Ridge's meet. My Ridge needs to meet some other Ridge's. I saw that little map of RL drivers in my area.. I know you are out there!:D

I hadn't really thought about it. Maybe just a meet to begin with and then a run later, or whatever. I'd just like to meet and greet some of the fine people here.

No time, no date. For now we're just poking around to see how many could be interested.
And this certainly doesn't have to be me to organize anything. I'm just looking for people who might be interested.
I am not available for the entire month of June.

T Mac 05-05-2007, 10:53 AM I might be able to come up for something...but let me also use this as a time to plug the national meet in August down in St. Louis. You guys are only a few hours away and we have some great things lined up. Right now, it looks like Saturday will be the big "Honda" day at a dealership and doing things with Gary Flint. I can't announce everything yet, but it will be well worth the drive.
Please consider joining us.

T Mac, I was absolutely hoping to go to St. Louis, but I found out last week that my Legion post has a big public event planned for that weekend; particularly since I'm an officer of the post, I have to be present there.
I'm sorry, but I won't be able to make it to St. Louis. I had planned on going if things worked out all right. Murphy's laws, ya know. :(

We are taking 2 of our grandkids out to the Black Hills in June, so that should bring the miles on the truck up to over 5000. I'm looking forward to getting it on the road! :)
This month has been horrendously busy, and the first half of next month is shot, too. Since there are few of us in the south end of the Chicago area who've expressed an interest in a meeting, I suggest that someone else spearhead this thing. I don't know the west or north areas well enough to plan anything.

The 23rd is the only Sunday I'm free in June. But I am only one person - if everyone else comes up with a plan, go for it!
FrenchRidgeline 06-01-2007, 04:22 AM I'd be interested in a get together in Chicago. June is a tough month for Graduation parties but I'll try to attend.
oldcoastie 06-01-2007, 07:06 AM OK, let's get some ideas. When are people available or not available to get together?
The weekend of 6/23 is the only time in June I'm available.
I think July is wide open for me.
The weekend of 8/4 is out for me, plus the national meet is in St. Louis that weekend.
9/1 is Labor Day weekend - too many things going on for most people, plus the traffic would be horrendous.
September and October would be cooler but could pose problems for those with kids in school (not me).
johnk1 06-01-2007, 04:36 PM I am any weekend as for now as long as I have time to plan.....
