: smoked pulled pork or brisket sandwiches anyone?
lowrider90 11-07-2005, 10:29 AM This weekend proved to be one of full flavor! For some of you it was @the ROCK. for me, smoking my brains out.
Check out the pulled pork and brisket I served up on Sunday after 18 hours in the smoker.
I did 2 large racks of spare ribs too. While finishing them on the gas grill with a spicy hot BBQ sauce I walked away for ten minutes when I came back....they were in flames, I was sooooo....upset. luckily I had 20 pound of pork and beef to wash away the tears.
Anyone else out there love to BBQ?
Anyway, I hope you like the pics.
Long Gone 11-07-2005, 10:32 AM I have to say this is the first time I ever felt like taking a bite out of my computer screen!!

T Mac 11-07-2005, 10:39 AM Yep...I'm a die-hard smoker. :) I'm going to do a midnight brisket possibly this coming weekend. I've got the Weber Smokey Mountain. I'll post pics too... looks good.
Outfitter 11-07-2005, 10:51 AM Saturday was the opening of deer season for us and Friday night at camp we had Brisket,Sausage and all the trimming smoked by one of our pros. He is a legend in his own mind!
Saturday night was Pulled Pork and Pork Tamales from some piggies I got a couple weeks before off the place along with venison chili and camp fire beans and washed this feast down with various types of Cool Aid.
Other than it being close to 90 degrees outside, it couldn't have been better!

Wow, looks great, how do you like the upright smoker?
I use a como of lump hardwood charcoal and oak, or apple or cherry woods.
Seasoning looks good too, do you let it sit over night or put it right in the smoker after seasoning.
Also ho do you maintain temps in the gas grill or do you use it to "just finish it off"
SSquire 11-07-2005, 01:30 PM Looks good lowrider (and everyone else!)!
So, ah, when is the 1st Annual ROC BBQ on the Cape? ;)

Webwader 11-07-2005, 01:34 PM Not a smoker myself, but I do love eating the stuff. All the pics look delicious and it's making me hungry!
bonerep 11-07-2005, 02:20 PM I love the upright smoker. I think you get a better feel for the heat/smoke. I use cherry, mesquite, peacan and hickory woods for smoking as well as lump charcoal. The grill is for cooking prime rib and reheating smoked meats. I put my rub on the day before and store the meat wrapped in foil in the fridge for 12 to 24 hrs before smoking. I start smoking the meat and start making the bbq sauce and if it's Sunday by the time the late nfl game comes on it's eatin time...:D
