Fishing rod storage??

My first disappointment with the ridge is that i cant put my 6' rods in the bed. I know I should have realized that but I'm slow like that some times:p

So my next thought is a roof rack. I was looking at a Thule Cascade 1100- I is over 80 inches and should work great- but it is 250 bucks. Anyone have a better/cheaper Idea?
Anyone know how they attach those PVC tubes on contractors trucks?

Yea- I read that and liked the rack- but I want something that lets me keep the tailgate up and the bed free for more storage.

I found out the PVC deals are caled Conduit Holders- I guess they are used by electricians. I think I can fit 4 or 5 rods in one without the reels.

Or get the Thule- anyone with a thule storage on their roof rack?
