farm boy 12-04-2005, 03:36 PM I was looking for some one that had the fender flares installed. Do they stop slush from splashing up on the doors. I find the mud guards dont do a very good job tires are a bit wider than the guards cover.

Do they even make fender flares? I don't know about there functionality, but they look good!
fins2theright 12-04-2005, 09:44 PM Yes, they make fender flares. Functionality? Well for one, less steel exposed to those annoying shopping carts and car doors in the parking lots. But more importantly for me, they give it more agressive styling. I love the look of them, and don't regret my decision to get them at all.
To answer your question about the snow. Well, I will have to monitor that and get back to you.
They look awsome. See for yourself!

Very nice, Fins2theright...great color, too!
bonerep 12-05-2005, 09:33 PM Looks real good. Nice color too.
fins2theright 12-05-2005, 10:05 PM Thankyou, Thankyou, and Thankyou!
Waiting for a heavy snowfall in Pitt so I can get some 'Winter' photos as well.

ninefive0 01-29-2006, 12:49 PM Are these fender flairs different than the ones that come on the RL?
fins2theright 01-29-2006, 02:25 PM Are these fender flairs different than the ones that come on the RL?
Not sure what you mean. Fender flares are not standard equipment for the ridgeline. But the ones in this post (and my pictures) are the optional flares from Honda.
Did I answer your question?

ninefive0 01-29-2006, 03:10 PM I guess the standard RL does have a "flare" at the fender and these install over these?
ninefive0 01-29-2006, 03:14 PM http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3621
Look at the silver RL in this thread and you can clearly see the "flare" over the wheel opening. THe optional flares install over these?

Yes, the optional flares are the same basic shape as the 'flared wheel opening', but stick over top of it, kinda projecting out a little. Here's a better pic of mine. Can you see it?
I love them. The body side moldings are a great compliment to the fender flares.:)

ninefive0 01-30-2006, 06:30 AM They do look good!! Thanks for the info
spongecop 01-30-2006, 06:52 AM If you don't mind me asking...how much are the flares (not installed).
1stHonda4me 02-05-2006, 04:58 PM If you don't mind me asking...how much are the flares (not installed).
I was quoted $567 installed but this was with the Ridgeline purchase. I've just picked up the truck but the flares are on BO.

poolerw0987 04-28-2006, 05:29 AM are the factory flares available other than at the dealer? are there colors to match each Ridgeline color?
thanks, rp
tlaudio 04-28-2006, 03:45 PM are the factory flares available other than at the dealer? are there colors to match each Ridgeline color?

Yes - Online retailers - Most of them are Honda Dealerships
Yes - They color match to your color
oldguy 04-28-2006, 05:53 PM Did I miss something??? Will the flares eliminate the splash up the side???
MegNAntsRidgeline 06-08-2006, 11:39 PM I think I like these a lot but I'd like to see someones before and after pictures side by side so I can see the same truck, same color and all right next to each other can anyone do this? How do these stick on is it just 3M or something of that nature?
Anthony;)
ridgeline2006 06-09-2006, 06:53 AM I just received my flairs that I purchased from ebay and they are painted to the color of the RL. I have not installed them yet but I will attempt to do so this weekend.
Here is the URL on Ebay for the RL.
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&fstype=1&from=R10&satitle=honda+ridgeline+&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&bs=Search&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&fmmk=&fmmd=&fylo=&fyhi=&mppfQy=honda+ridgeline+service+manual&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=
I wanted to know if Fins2theright Installed them himself or did he have someone else to it like Honda. They look great and I hope they go on easy. MegNAntsRidgeline I will have those pictures this weekend posted here if I finish. As for splashing up dirt or snow I don't know but it appears that they will stop some from flipping up the side of the truck. After they are install I will have to take notice. More to follow.....
:)
ridgeline2006 06-11-2006, 01:19 AM Well it was not that bad, it took about 45 minutes for the first one and the rest went much faster i started at 6am and finished about 9am. Here are the before and after pictures
Ruffles 06-15-2006, 12:50 PM Who make these flares?
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2361490
ridgeline2006 06-16-2006, 11:50 AM These flairs are Honda Flairs
Ruffles 06-16-2006, 11:52 AM No there not. If you look closely, the grooves in the doors extend into the rear flare. The Honda flares don't do that.
ridgeline2006 06-16-2006, 01:26 PM Well then I don't know, however I got them from a honda dealer out of Colorado off of Ebay. I don't see the difference. Point it out to me again.
Here is the number for Ebay. 8071346609 I just check and they put the auction up saying is was genuine Honda parts. Don't know..
I love the way the look, but I would like to see the other ones too.
Look down the threads at entry number 12, the green RL, his flairs look like mine well I think the do.
Thanks
Ruffles 06-16-2006, 01:36 PM You can see the difference in these two pictures. The one without the grooves is the factory Honda flare. This is the first I've seen of the other type. I like it . Now I just need to find out who make them.

ridgeline2006 06-16-2006, 02:06 PM Now I see the difference, mine are different I don't have the cut in. This is your RL? The flairs came when you ordered it?
Ruffles 06-16-2006, 02:08 PM No, it's not mine. I just came across it on sounddomain.com. I asked the owner but he says he wont tell :(.
ridgeline2006 06-16-2006, 02:25 PM They are different. I found mine on ebay and really feel I got a good price. MSRP is about 400.00 and I gave right at 300.00 and they were in a Honda box and wrapped nicely no marks on them and it took me about 3.5 hours to do all 4 of them..
Thanks for all the input this was interesting. I kind of like mine a little more because I can polish mine and not have any issues.
So the guy with the green one would not tell you anything about them.
Must be "TOP SECRET"
Ruffles 06-28-2006, 09:56 AM The flares I posted are made by ATSDesigns.com. I got a catalog in the mail with a picture of the RL. I don't have a scanner so I took a quick pic. I went to the website and their not listed so I'll have to call when I get some time.

jayg287 10-30-2006, 12:39 PM You know, looking at the pictures I'm not really seeing all that much of a difference. I have yet to see a RL with the flairs in person. Is it really noticable and worth dropping the 4 or so bills to pick them up?

I'm with Jay at least for now, I would have to see it in person to drop 4 bills into it. Did someone say LadyRidge patriot sticker ?????
ridgeline865 05-27-2008, 08:20 PM Can the flares be removed once applied? Has anyone removed them?
hondasir1981 05-28-2008, 06:06 AM I put the flares on because I was starting to get paint chips on my wheel wells and they were starting to rust from salt and sand on the road in winter. so The flares will help me alot, it doesn't really look any different just a little wider. I think they look good.
JuiceGoose 05-28-2008, 09:20 AM I wouldn't mind throwing them on especially if they can be painted to look like...ohhh say bushwacker fender flares the mute black. kind of like rhino lining yet not as aggresive of a texture. Can anyone take and photoshop a ridgy with black fender flares(yes i know the offroad version has them already)
ridgeline865 05-28-2008, 08:11 PM Do the same splash guards work with the fender flares or are they completely different?

ridgeline865 06-04-2008, 04:10 PM Thanks for the response. I purchased a set of fender flares for my white RTX and started to install them but changed my mind. I have a set of white fender flares if anyone wants to buy them. I am asking $350 for them.
hondasir1981 06-05-2008, 02:53 PM They come with splash guards that are intregated right into the fender flares, so you can not use the same splash guards. I love my flares, when my black ridge is clean i'll take some pics and post them, every ridgeline should come with them, it protects the paint on the fenders and wheel wells.
Do the same splash guards work with the fender flares or are they completely different?
DBLUNG 02-10-2009, 11:23 AM How much wider then stock are the flares?
Thanks
tacky1 02-11-2009, 03:37 PM How much wider then stock are the flares?

Good question, How much more does the flares stick out compared to the stock fenders..
Are they worth the fit, I have 285/50/20 tires and their is a lot of dirt fling on the side of the truck with the stock mud flaps.
Would the flares offer better protection....

This is a great question. It looks as if the flares and new guard on it set out and back futher a bit????
Id rather take some jeep rubber universal flare material and add that.
All of those posted look like a complete waste of time to say the least.
RamzeyRTX 03-03-2009, 09:02 PM I have read most of the forums on fender flares...just looking for a current update on how owners fender flares are holding up still? Im thinking of buying a set from Majestic Honda in RI to cover a recent hit and run. I hope they will match well. My dent is by the rear wheel well towards the front of the rear wheel well. What are the inserts that go in it? I think this might be a better option then 800 new paint job? Thoughts and Advice?
auditude 03-03-2009, 11:22 PM I scratched the right fender of my RTL driving up against the back of an engine stand. I covered the paint damage with prepainted OEM fender flares I found on ebay. It was much cheaper than fixing the paint would have been, and I like the look.
