My windshield washer started working intermittently the last few weeks, now it doesn't work at all. The wipers still go on when pressing the washer button. I've checked the fuses, they're fine. Anyone have suggestions? I imagine there's a relay for it, but with all the relay's generically marked, not sure which one to check. Before I bring it in, throught I'd tap into the wealth of knowledge in this forum. Anyone????

check for ice in the line. It may just be frozen.

mine was frozen most of last week, with the temps below freezing all day. now its working fine.
when you push the washer button, can you hear the washer motor?

And check to see if the rubber hoses fell off under the hood where it connects underneath the spray nozzles. It's pretty warm today in Ottawa!

Nozzles plugged?
Pop the hoses off the nozzles and try it. Got flow? Plugged nozzles.
Most reseroirs have a debris screen in them. This may also be plugged.
If you have access to compressed air, you could try blowing air back through the system from the nozzle end. Start with LOW pressure.
You should hear air bubbling in the reservoir.
Try again. (It may take a few tries to reprime the system. Same as starting with an empty reservoir.)

Tried all of the above. There doesn't seem to be any power going to the pump motor. Trying to find the relay for it, but not marked anywhere. Then I guess I'll have to check the pump motor. Failing that, back trace and look for a short somewhere. I hate to take it to the dealer if it's just a simple thing.

Did you change out the Canadian washer fluid for American?
:act024: Just kidding!
You might find all your fluid has been squirting under the hood. Washer systems seem to be fragile creatures.
