kcss88 12-15-2005, 03:15 PM Spoke with Advantage and they said they are making a hard and soft version of their Torza folding cover. Supposedly no drilling and only ten minutes to install the rails. Does anyone have one or know anything about these covers?
arteegee 12-15-2005, 03:22 PM Google tells me the premier edition hard cover is $883.68.
BannedUser 12-15-2005, 03:23 PM I'm still waiting for the one that doesn't leak. Here is the website for Torza.

RidgeInTheVille 12-15-2005, 04:10 PM I started a thread asking about any new bed covers and got no replies. I then replied to my own post telling about the Advantage covers. Here is a link to the thread.
http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3674
I have a name and number to call at Advantage to discuss their tops but haven't gotten around to it. I also e-mailed with a local dealer that has one on display. I can't remember what model it is and I don't think it is on a Ridgeline. I want to go out and look at it but I've been busy around work and haven't made it there yet. As soon as I find out more I will post it.
I like what I see from their website. The idea of the cover being more than 2 panels is very appealing to me and I also like the fact that there is no drilling. My Ridge is a lease so I want to be able to remove it and have no extra holes. I was leaning towards the Retrax until I found this company. I would say price is comparable so that's not an issue for me.
If you find out more, post it and I will do the same.
By the way, the website is actually http://www.advantagetruckaccessories.com/. I think LadyRidge linked to a dealer selling them.
kcss88 12-15-2005, 06:14 PM I went to a dealer today but they didn't have any in stock. They are bringing one in for me tomorrow. I am after the soft cover version......as it is half the price of the hard cover, and I am only interested in keeping snow and rain out of the bed. I have had access covers on a couple of my previous trucks and they work very well...but still take up a bit of the bed when rolled up (which I anticipate might be a problem with my ATV in the bed...which is why the retrax is not a consideration for me....plus they are a pain to install in the Ridge). These covers come right off the truck in less than a minute and can be stored in the back seat of the truck. I'm told the hard cover and soft cover both function the same. If I like what I see and purchase the cover ( I'm told the rails bolt into existing holes and take all of 10 minutes to install), I will try to post pictures and take it to the spray wash to see how water tight it is tomorrow.
RidgeInTheVille 12-15-2005, 07:21 PM I hope it works for you. I thought the soft covers looked great on the website. I just wanted the hard cover. I look forward to your pictures and experience.
hijack204 12-15-2005, 10:07 PM This would be something for you guys to look at if your leaning towards these covers:

kcss88 12-16-2005, 08:16 PM Picked up and installed "soft" Torza cover this evening. Rails took 15 minutes to install....remove 4 bolts and replace with bolts provided. Torza cover installs on rails in about 2 minutes. Cover folds twice...three sections...and can be attached on the truck with 2/3 of the bed open or completely taken off the truck. The hard cover operates the same way. The material and cross bows appear quite similar to the Access cover. Trunk opening is similar to other covers....about 85% with 1/3 of the cover open and about 65% with the cover completely closed....this does not appear to be an issue. There is no noise from the top at any speed with the back window open or closed. The only negative I've discovered so far is that the cover does not seal in the middle of the tailgate. The cover is long enouph that rain will not enter...but certainly will going through car washes. The hard cover might not have this problem, as the soft cover has a bit of a bow to it which the hard cover shouldn't have. Tomorrow I will try to post some pics if anyone is interested and I will attempt to hit a spray wash to find out how water tight this cover is.

Great post kcss88, Do the rails protrude out into the bed area at all?
kcss88 12-16-2005, 08:37 PM yes...all rails will protrude into the bed area since the cover has to sit on the rails. Thats why the trunk doesn't open all the way ....but the Torza has rubber on the rails where the trunk touches them so there isn't any scratching.
RidgeInTheVille 12-19-2005, 07:35 AM Did you ever take those pics? I'd love to see them.
kcss88 12-20-2005, 04:03 PM Here are some pics.....
engineer 12-20-2005, 07:34 PM Hi kcss88, when open the tailgate what the height from the cover to the top of the “bed rib”? Thanks.
kcss88 12-20-2005, 10:20 PM Just over 161/2 inches in the corner and just over 171/4 in the center. The aluminum ribs are bowed.
rwwdel 12-21-2005, 08:31 AM Once installed - how easy is it to remove the cover completely from the truck? (Sorry if I missed that point somewhere).
kcss88 12-21-2005, 11:38 AM Takes about 2 minutes. Undo the four clamps and unscrew the 2 safety straps. The cover folds in three and the truck can be driven with the cover on the truck folded to 1/3 and secured with the attached straps or taken comletely off the truck. No tools are required.
RidgeInTheVille 12-21-2005, 11:53 AM Looks real nice kcss88!! I'm going to check out the hard version, probably after the holidays. Thanks for all of your info.
rwwdel 12-21-2005, 12:07 PM Thanks kcss88. Did you go with Premier or standard version of the soft -top - and any reasons why?
kcss88 12-21-2005, 10:36 PM I went with the standard version. We get lots of snow up here...which is the main reason I wanted a cover.....and I didn't think the premier version (looks much like the material on a convertible top) would hold up as well as the vinyl. I don't have any basis for the above...just a feeling when I looked at them side by side. I also considered the Hard Hat version....but I didn't have the need for the security it provides and couldn't justify the price. All in all, I am quite pleased with the top...I think it is good value and definitely the easiest cover to install and can be removed in a minute if you need to use the full bed. I had access covers on my last 2 pickups and was quite happy with them but didn't want to deal with the install on the Ridgeline ( don't like drilling holes if I don't have to) and the Retrax cover wasn't really an option for me considering the Ridge only has a 5 ft bed to begin with. We all have different needs and uses for our vehicles. This top on this vehicle fits the bill for me.
Craig 12-22-2005, 10:54 AM I had access covers on my last 2 pickups and was quite happy with them but didn't want to deal with the install on the Ridgeline ( don't like drilling holes if I don't have to) and the Retrax cover wasn't really an option for me considering the Ridge only has a 5 ft bed to begin with. I feel the same way. Why poke holes in a perfectly good truck if you don't have to. This seems tobe nearly perfect for my uses. I have a few questions of you don't mind my asking though. Can you tell me how this cover works with the trunk (or better yet post a picture)? I use the trunk a lot and am concerned with restricting access. Can you fit the cover inside the truck when it is removed? Is there a way to securely lock (padlock, maybe) the clamps so as to prevent someone removing the cover? Finally, the websites aren't very clear on the material used. But, it appears the me that the regular top is vinyl and the premier top is fabric. Is that correct?
Thanks for your help!
resqu 12-22-2005, 07:26 PM I have the Honda installed hard cover, folds back about half-way - same as photos above but in black...I am always tying kayaks, ladders, etc on the roof. Strong enough to walk around on...kind of a beast to lock, but is doable.
kcss88 12-22-2005, 09:12 PM Craig
The trunk opening is restricted as with all covers that have rails installed to support the cover. I would say the trunk opens about 65% with the cover completely closed and about 85% with 1/3 of the cover folded back. I will try to post some pics tomorrow.
The cover will fit in the back seat area when it is removed.
There is no way to secure the clamps on the truck...you would need to secure the tailgate to keep people from removing the top.
You are correct wrt the vinyl and the fabric. They also make a hard cover which would be much more secure if you installed a lock on the tailgate.
kcss88 12-23-2005, 03:38 PM I was wrong about locking the clamps...you can put a lock on them.
kcss88 12-23-2005, 03:48 PM Here are the pics you asked for
Craig 12-23-2005, 10:59 PM Thanks for the pics. Exactly what I was looking for. The trunk still looks fairly accessible with the 1st 3rd of the tonneau open so I think the advantage of a cover far outweighs the loss in trunk lid mobility.
I was checking the links listed earlier in the thread and I noticed that the same cover is priced higher for the Ridgeline than any other vehicle. What do you guys think? Is it just due to the product being so new or, is there a misconception that all RL owners are rich yuppies from the suburbs?
Anyway, looks like this is probably the one I'll get. Hopefully soon.
VetteBlue 12-24-2005, 06:49 AM From the pictures above, it looks like the Honda OE Tonneau Cover is the only one that will fill the space between the top of the tailgate and the sides of the bed, to give the truck a more finished look from the back??
Nevermind - from the College Hills Honda site, I'm not sure even the OE cover does that??
ridgerbarry 12-24-2005, 08:37 AM I'm so close to getting this. I'm planning on a camping trip in January- spending one night on the road and want to store my stuff out of sight.
I want to see a photo of the hard top- I think I would prefer the security.
But which material - Vinyl or the other "convertable material"?
Craig 12-24-2005, 09:58 AM It looks from the pictures I've seen that the "other" fabric material is a canvas type material. If so I think that is what I would get. The question for me is hardtop or soft? I don't think I can justify the extra $300 (especially to the wife) for the hardtop unless it has some advantages over the soft other than security and looks. I live in a fairly rural part of Connecticut and don't really need much security other than when I park the RL at the mall (which is rare). I am mostly just looking for something that will keep rain/snow out of the bed and let me use the bed for additional storage when the trunk is full. Will the soft cover tend to stretch and sag over time? And could anyone find specs for the weight of both the hard and soft top. Not critical just curious. The web sites are not very informative. Guess that's why I'm a member of the ROC. You guys/gals are great!
I like the looks of this cover. I think it would work well. I have the OEM and the hard cover edition would give more flexibility since it has the third fold. Is the thing water tight though? If not, I like the OEM hard plastic better and it does fit to the edges of the bed better than this one. I also like the OEM 3 year warranty.
kcss88 12-24-2005, 09:12 PM In answer to the above questions:
I was told the soft top weighs 20 lbs and the hard top 40 lbs. They both install on the same rails with the same rubbers and seals. The major difference is the security IF a tailgate lock is installed which is not supplied.
As far as being water tight.....the design of the ridgeline bed (not being a separate box and not allowing a top to be placed over the bedrails) does not lend itself to being water tight with any cover. I spent 20 minutes after installing the rails (10 minute job) adding extra bed tape (supplied with the cover) in any areas I could see light once the top was on. When I was finished I found the only area I could not seal completely was where the cover met the front of the bed. In a heavy rain some water will come in. A sealant would probably fix this problem but then I would lose what I see as the advantage of this cover....being able to completely remove it in 2 minutes and not lose any part of the bed. If you want or need a water tight cover....this cover is not for you! The amount of water in my bed is not an issue for me.....but again, we all have different needs. I doubt there is any cover made for the Rigdeline which is 100% water tight....at least none that I have heard of.
Hope this helps.
retiredmar 01-04-2006, 10:17 PM I just ordered the Torza Hard Hat and Iam expecting delievery between Jan 9 -12. From talking to various individuals it is my understanding that the premium edition uses convertible top material as opposed to vinyl. It was further explained to me that that material is hard to clean and keep clean. Both have 7 year fabic warranty and limited lifetime on frame. Advantage advised me that the hard had can support 300+ lbs and that it did not leak(we'll see about that after installed.). I was sold on the fact that it can be removed in a matter of minutes and you can do it your self.

I would appreciate it if you could let us know how the Hard Hat works out for you. I am very interested in purchasing a hard type tonneau cover for my RL. I'm somewhat concerned whether the Hard Hat model is strong enough. It also appears to be fairly expensive. I am also considering the cover offered by Basic Concepts.
Good luck with the Hard Hat.
KCSS88 I noticed in one of your pictures with the trunk open a yellow No Frills
bag, I guess this means that you are located in the great white north. You may have mentioned where you purchased your cover earlier in the thread but I didn`t catch it. So if you don`t mind, where did you purchase it. Thanks in advance

Pretty impressive eyesight. I live in King City, just north of Toronto. I purchased the Torza from King City Trailers. They do not stock them, but can get them next day. The Canadian distributor is out of Midland, Ontario believe it or not.

The top will not be watertight and you will have to do some minor modifications to get it "almost" watertight. E-mail me and I will save you a little time wrt watertightness and installation. Don't want to bore everyone with a lengthy thread here.
NCridge 01-06-2006, 11:29 AM Hey Ridge owners, Amazon now has truck accessories, as if they don't sell just about anything and everything on that site. Here's a link to the Torza, an inexpensive Tonneau Cover. I lease my Ridge, so I didn't want to spend a fortune on a cover....
What do you think KCSS88, now that you have had it on for a while...
Is it worth it? Does it do what you intended it for?
Trying to read everyone's opinions before I spend the money on the RL for something I may or may not use.

RidgeInTheVille 01-06-2006, 11:37 AM Amazon prices seem pretty reasonable on these. I'm interested in the Hard Hat and was quoted over $1000 for it. I plan on checking it out soon at a local dealer.

I am very happy with the top. It is perfect for my purpose, but as I have stated earlier in this thread, we all have different needs. The price, ease of installation, no drilling and being able to remove the top easily and quickly without losing any of the bed were selling points for me.
Again...it is not watertight if that is an issue for you.
cdepuydt 01-06-2006, 03:35 PM I just saw (Last night) a new OEM Honda Cover on ebay, the "Buy It Now" prices was $995, and shipping was free. You can bid on it too. The bid was at $750 when I looked at it last night.
I was seriously considering buying the Honda Cover but, after I saw the major surgery you have to do to install it, I decided to pass. I think the Retrax is gonna be the way to go for me.
milehigh 01-06-2006, 05:53 PM I've been torn on this bed cover issue (like many of us) for months. The Retrax looked great, but I didn't want to spend that much (OK, I'm cheap) and i didn't like the idea of that big canister sitting there. The Access cover was what I was thinking I'd end up with, but drilling holes into the bed was something I really didn't want to do. Then I read about the Torza top today. This really fits the bill for me, so one was ordered today. As soon as it's in and on the truck, I'll post pics and what my thoughts are about it.

I've decided on this top due to the fact that there is no drilling involved and it seems fairly easy to install and remove. Now trying to decide between hard or soft top. I can't seem to locate a delaer in CT to look at them and I'm a little wary making the decision sight unseen.

I like the look of the fabric a little better than the vinyl but I'm sure they are both good covers. Hopefully it wont be as hard to keep clean as Retiredmar was told.

Im with you.
i did the same.
i did not opt fot the premier though.
i just want a good cover for the bed.
The way i figure it there may never be a perfect cover solution for this truck and i did like the retrax idea i just did not want to give up any of the bed room for the storage can.
Its is by far the smallest truck bed i have ever had.
No complaints though.
i will also give feedback on the torza top.
MIBlue 01-10-2006, 07:03 PM This cover looks like a good option for my needs. Does anyone know if the tonneau cover interferes with using the bed extender?
strider 01-11-2006, 05:42 PM The Torza covers look like just what I was looking for. Something that can be easily and quickly removed if necessary. I just placed an order for the Hard Hat. I went back and forth between the soft or hard cover and finally just decided to go for the hard hat. I'll provide some feedback when I get it.
RidgeInTheVille 01-12-2006, 10:19 AM I just went to a local dealer this morning and looked at the Torza tops. The hard and soft both look real nice. Their display had the soft in the vinyl and the hard in the rag top. I'd like to get the hard top too but don't really want the rag top finish. I'd much rather have the vinyl on the hard top. I'm gonna check with them and see if it is an option.
I hope to see some pics soon from those that have the hard top coming.

RidgeInTheVille 01-13-2006, 06:56 AM I thought you could but the dealer I was at said it was only available in the rag top. I didn't argue with them.

retiredmar 01-14-2006, 06:00 AM RidgeInTheVille, just got my Torza Hadr Hat last night it is not the premier addition. Has black vinyl as opposed to the canvas. I ordered through amazon.com total of $735.02. Ordered Jan 3 received Jan 13. They estimated deliever between Jan 9-12. If you check soime of there feedback there are some negative comments about RealTrucks deleivery time. I will try and post some pictures after installation ( might need some help with doing that). As in another posted RealTrucks is selling at the same price as Amazon.com plus they were giving additional $30 gift card for RealTrucks. If I hadn't ordered already would have dealt directly with Them.
milehigh 01-14-2006, 09:16 AM If you check soime of there feedback there are some negative comments about RealTrucks deleivery time.
I can attest to this...
I ordered my Torza from RealTrucks on Jan 6. There has been no communication from them about a shipping/delivery date or anything. I've been checking their online tracking - nothing. I've emailed customer service twice (this past Thursday and Friday) about the status and have had no reply. So, as far as I know, they don't even have them in stock to fill my order. I'm a bit miffed with their lack of communication. If they want any repeat business from me, they need to get on the ball real soon!
retiredmar 01-14-2006, 02:31 PM Milehigh is exactly right. I could not find any tracking number and eveytime I tried to track my order it stated the order was being processed. I called Real Truck and finally told one of the guys that they need to do a better job on estimating their ship dates. It appears that my order came directly from Advantage the packing slip was dated 1/4/06 for one HardHat tonneau Cover model#48901. I installed the cove this am, eveything is straight foward it took 15 minutes to put the rails in the bed. My install was exactly as stated in a previous thread from kcss88. Once I got my cover on I noticed a very small hole in the vinyl in the left rear corner between the two rows of stitching that goes completely around the cover and that some of the foam gasket that had been installed on the cover where it meets the rail was messed up. I immediately called Real Truck and was told that a manager would need to decide on wether or not they would replace the whole system or if they could just send me a new cover. I recontacted RealTruck and was advised that the returns manager needs to make the decision and he would be contacted Monday and I would receive a call before 10 am. I removed eveything and put it back in the shipping carton. I will be sending this back and waiting to get a new one. For my requirements hiding the golf clubs and a cooler or two, this cover appears to be just fine.
kcss88 01-14-2006, 04:39 PM Retiredmar...if you have any trouble with Real Truck....try calling Advantage directly and see if they will replace it for you. They seemed like pretty decent folks when I spoke to them.
RidgeInTheVille 01-14-2006, 06:51 PM If you need the name of a person at Real Truck, let me know. I e-mailed them asking questions and got a quick response where they asked me to call saying it would be easier to help me.
RidgeInTheVille 01-14-2006, 06:53 PM retiredmar,
Your Hard Hat sounds like what I am looking for. I thought the premier was the rag top version but wasn't positive.
Craig 01-14-2006, 08:18 PM I too paced an order with Realtruck on Jan 7 and have not heard back regarding the status. I think I will give them a call on Monday. I don't mind waiting if I am given an honest estimate of the time. If I feel like I am being given the runaround I may just cancel and order from someone else.
I know realtruck sells this cover through Amazon. I wonder if ordering that way would get better results?
milehigh 01-14-2006, 11:16 PM Craig-
I'm going to call them on Monday as well... that's assuming they're open on MLK day.
retiredmar 01-15-2006, 06:41 AM According to the guy I talked with they will be open and if I don't receive a call from him by 10 am I'll be calling.
strider 01-15-2006, 08:35 AM Now I'm wondering if I made the right choice by going with Realtruck. I ordered the Hard Hat on Jan 11th so I ahve to give them some time to get it to me. The problems others are having with shipping don't make me feel to confident about them though. I'll wait and see. Oh, they did ship my "free" t-shirt right away. Whopppeeee!
Retiredmar...let us know how you make out with your return.
milehigh 01-16-2006, 11:22 AM Got an update on my Torza order from RealTruck...
I received an email from them at 7 AM this morning that he was going to check with the warehouse and get back to me as soon as he hears back from them. It's about 11:20 AM now - nothing yet.
RidgeInTheVille 01-16-2006, 12:37 PM I just found out that the Torza HardHat cover won best new van/pickup/SUV product in 2005.
Here is the link (http://www.semashow.com/main/main.aspx?id=70149). Go down about halfway.
Also, here is a link to a picture (http://www.semashow.com/newproducts/E_0218.jpg)of it.
I think I am going with the HardHat. Not the premier version. I just can't get into the ragtop material.
Craig 01-16-2006, 02:05 PM On Saturday, after I made wrote the post above, I e-mailed RealTruck to inquire as to the status of the top I ordered. I received an e-mail on Sunday stating it will be delivered today. Hopefully it will be in my garage when I get home!
RidgeInTheVille 01-16-2006, 02:26 PM Great news Craig. I hope it's there. Which version did you go with? Post some pics after you get it installed.
Craig 01-16-2006, 07:22 PM Nope . . . still topless. With the weather here in CT and the holiday I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until tomrrow. I decided on the Soft Premier top.
TheRidgester 01-16-2006, 08:36 PM Saw this in an off road magazine tonight, then found here in roc.. just wanted to point out they used the most popular color RL to display the product :) :)
Tonneau Cover Introduced for Honda Ridgeline
http://www.advantagetruckaccessories.com/HondaRidgeline_1.gif
Elkhart, Indiana… Advantage Truck Accessories, Inc. has introduced applications of its popular TorzaTop and HardHat folding tonneau covers that fit the new Honda Ridgeline. Using special, no-drill brackets, installation is fast and easy and requires less than 10 minutes to complete. Once the initial installation of the brackets, tonneau covers can be put on or removed in less than a minutes, according to company officials.
Advantage Truck currently manufactures and distributes several folding and snap-on tonneau covers for U.S. and import trucks under the brand names of Sure-Fit, TorzaTop, TorzaTop Premier, Hard Hat, and Hard Hat Premier.
brian1972ct 01-16-2006, 09:24 PM After reading the few sites its being sold on, I still dont understand the difference between them all (besides the prices). What is the difference between the "hard top" and "soft top"? Is it just vinyl versus ragtop? Or the differences between the Premier Hard and Soft models?
RidgeInTheVille 01-17-2006, 04:38 AM I will try to enlighten you.
The soft top is the material put over a metal frame. There are support bars that go across.
The hard top is an actual solid surface under the material. It would be more secure if you have a tailgate lock.
There are 2 versions of each. The original version is a vinyl material and the premier version is a rag top. I would describe the rag top as a fuzzy material.
They are all really great products. I like the fact that it is 3 panels and that when you flip them back on top of each other, there is a way to secure them. Basically you need to decide on hard or soft and then decide on vinyl or rag top.
Hope this helps.
ridgekat 01-17-2006, 06:34 AM Okay,
Decided on the manufacturer and model - Advantage Torza Hard Hat.
Now for best price....best I see is ordering through Amazon - $720, incl S&H.
Anyone see better current pricing ?
brian1972ct 01-17-2006, 06:37 AM Thanks, RidgeintheVille, makes sense now. Anyone have any reviews etc on the hardtop(vinyl or ragtop)? Also, still curious to hear how long the delivery times are. Seems like lots of orders, but few deliveries.
RidgeInTheVille 01-17-2006, 08:00 AM Ridgekat, I actually think there is a $15 s&h charge thru Amazon.
They are using RealTrucks to handle it. If you buy directly from RealTrucks, the price is $735.02 delivered and they will give you a $30 gift card (I just got pricing from them yesterday). Call Darryl at 877-216-5446 ext 110 and he can take care of you. I've been e-mailing him and he has been very helpful.
RidgeInTheVille 01-17-2006, 08:03 AM brian1972ct, I just got delivery times yesterday from RealTrucks and Darryl said it would be about 5 days to ship and 4-6 to deliver. They come out of Indiana.
Maybe I should ask him how many people we would need to get better pricing.
milehigh 01-17-2006, 08:09 AM I got a call from Glen at RealTruck yesterday afternoon. Very nice guy. Apparently, the response to the Torza has been overwhelming and the manufacturer is having a hard time keeping up. Anyway, I was told they're going to try to get one expedited from the factory to me. Once they know for sure, I'll get an email or call about when to expect delivery. So, hopefully I'll be getting one soon.
RidgeInTheVille 01-17-2006, 08:32 AM For all those interested, I e-mailed Darryl at RealTruck and he said
Get the number together I will definitely get better pricing.
They are paid on commission so I'm sure he is excited and will do his best. I guess I need to get a number together of those interesed. Probably the best bet would be to message me. Let me know what model in your message. I'll tabulate the messages and get back to him tomorrow to give everybody a day.
ridgekat 01-17-2006, 08:44 AM RidgeInTheVille,
Thanks for your info and initiative !
I'm in for one Torza HardHat (vinyl) for my Ridge.
I'd like one sooner rather than later, but I never rush a good thing.
Jeff
Craig 01-19-2006, 08:42 PM Well, my top didn't come on tuesday. So I called realtruck and the sales rep (didn't get his name) told me it would be shipped out that day. Sounded like they forgot to place my order. He told me it would arrive Friday and that they would send an e-mail with tracking #s within 24 hours.
Wednesday I received the tracking #s and checked that the cover was enroute. When I got home tonight I was suprized to find it waiting for me.
The install was easy but it took me a bit longer than most due to my being tired and my garage being very poorly lit.
I am very impressed with the soft top Premier material and the overall construction. I like the ease with which it opens and the top is very light. This is almost the perfect top for my needs.
When I tighten the back set of clamps the rails seem to have more play near the tailgate than I would like (the rails are not screwed into the bed at the tailgate end) but I don't forsee there being a problem. While I would like the trunk to open a bit more than it does it is still easily accessible. I store my daughter's stroller in the trunk and getting it in and out is not a problem if the back 3rd of the top is opened. So, I don't forsee not being able to get anything I need into or out of the trunk.
I could see the trunk being fully functional if instead of the rails being one piece they were each 2 pieces. A long section extending from the tie down hook at the cab end of the bed to the screw in the center of the bed wall. These are the screws currently used to secure the rails to the bed. The next, shorter piece could screw into the rear tie hook and the screw at the top of the bed near the tailgate. The gap in between the two pieces would allow the trunk to open fully. This may make the top less weather resistant but I think I would prefer having full access to the trunk.
This weekend I will fill in any gaps with the added foam they supplied with the top. I will also try and post some pictures.
I would like to thank kcss88 once again for turning me on to this top. Very appreciated. Great find.
stinger 01-19-2006, 09:01 PM I am also very thankful to kcss88 for all his help, not only in this thread but he drove down from King city last night just to show me his install of Torza and that was a big help to wards making my final decision.it looks great and is exactly what I was looking for.
I ordered mine from the same place today. should be ready to pick up tomorrow.
rwwdel 01-20-2006, 11:54 AM Have one on order; thanks to all for the good advice. Hope it comes soon - haven't had much snow here yet.:)
stinger 01-22-2006, 12:31 AM I picked up and installed the Torza yesterday. As kcss88 mentioned, it takes 15 minutes to install. I like the looks and most importantly the functionality of this product for my needs. it completely comes off the truck in 2 minutes and I have the full use of my truck bed, yes, it is not 100 % water proof in the front. but the bed has built in channels and the few drops of water just runs out under the cargo.
another advantage (of having any cover) I see is that I can use any inexpensive and light weight mat in the bed and leave it there without worrying about it flying away.
Thanks again to kcss88 . I have one question though :) .
The 2 safety straps with thumb screws underneath the front panel, is there a particular place to fasten them or I can secure them anywhere next to the front clamps??.
strider 01-22-2006, 06:36 AM Just a little update on my shipping status. I ordered the standard Hard Hat on Jan 11th from Realtruck. I emailed them last Thursday (Jan 19th) asking when it would be shipped because nothing shows up in their status tracking. I received a reply stating that it was due to be shipped that day and should show up in status tracking either that night or an Friday. Still nothing, so I called them yesterday (Sat, Jan 21st) and was told that it was supposed to have been shipped on Thursday but they're not sure whether it was actually shipped or not. They said they'll have to call the factory on Monday to check on it. I'm not too impressed with Realtruck so far.
kcss88 01-22-2006, 07:25 AM Stinger.....Hope you're enjoying your new Torza. The safety straps can be positioned anywhere along the rail.
Craig 01-22-2006, 08:32 AM I found that calling realtruck produced much better results than e-mail. Once I got someone on the phone I had my top in 3 days.
I just secured those 2 red safety straps in a spot that wouldn't interfere with opening and closing the two front clamps. Which was an inch or two from the clamps.
brian1972ct 01-22-2006, 11:56 AM pics Craig, we want pics!!! :D
strider 01-25-2006, 02:11 PM I've now emailed Realtruck twice and called them twice looking for shipping info on my top. First it was to be shipped on the 19th, then I was told it was shipped on the 20th, yesterday on the phone I was told it was due to ship yesterday (Jan 24th) from the Advantage warehouse. The excuse they gave me was that Advantage was moving their warehouse and fell behind on orders. I was also told that it would show up in Realtruck's status tracking either last night or this morning. So far, there's nothing in status tracking. Their lack of accurate communications is pretty disappointing.
milehigh 01-25-2006, 03:32 PM I got mine yesterday and I'm just about to install. I ordered mine on 1/6/2006. I guess demand for these is very high, so they're having trouble keeping up. So far, it appears to be a very handsome top. I'll be taking pics of the install and will post as soon as I can.

Good to hear that you actually got your top. I ordered mine Jan 11th so I haven't waited as long as you. Hopefully mine will come in a few days.
strider 01-27-2006, 09:40 AM My Hard Hat is finally on the way. I should have it within the next couple of days.
milehigh 01-27-2006, 09:56 AM My Hard Hat is finally on the way. I should have it within the next couple of days.
Good to hear - you'll love it. The wait was driving me crazy as well, but it was worth it. It's very well made and about the easiest thing to install. The included instructions are a bit "generic", but the install is easy to figure out.
Ernie 01-29-2006, 08:41 PM Sorry if I am beating a dead horse, but I just can't seem to find a definitive answer. Is the trunk restricted from opening even if this top is 2/3 open or completely removed because the newly installed rails protrude into the bed area? Thanks!
strider 01-30-2006, 07:35 AM My Hard Hat finally arrived and I installed it yesterday. Looks great! This is exactly the top I was looking for because it's easily removable. Like others have said, it's not going to be water proof. It all depends on one's needs, but I wasn't looking for something that had to keep all the water out.
Yes, the trunk opening is still restricted even with one third of the top folded back. I still have plenty of room to get stuff in and out of the trunk.
strider 01-30-2006, 07:41 AM Sorry if I am beating a dead horse, but I just can't seem to find a definitive answer. Is the trunk restricted from opening even if this top is 2/3 open or completely removed because the newly installed rails protrude into the bed area? Thanks!
It's restricted with 1/3, 2/3 or completely off because of the rails you have to install with the top. It's not that bad though.
RidgeInTheVille 01-30-2006, 07:53 AM Hey strider, it looks great. Thanks for posting hte pics. Is that the regular vinyl material or the rag top? I can't tell from your pics. Are you happy with your choice, whichever it is?
Thanks
Webwader 01-30-2006, 12:05 PM Looks great strider. How about a picture of the trunk opened as far as it will go with the rails in?
rwwdel 01-30-2006, 02:02 PM Received my cover last week and installed it - easy install, even late at night after a long day. So far very happy with the top and ease of use.
There is some wind noise at 40 + mph - not noticeable with windows closed, but am wondering what it will be like once the weather turns and I'm driving with rear window open.
strider 01-30-2006, 02:35 PM Hey strider, it looks great. Thanks for posting hte pics. Is that the regular vinyl material or the rag top? I can't tell from your pics. Are you happy with your choice, whichever it is?
Thanks
It's the regular vinyl and I'm very happy with it. I think the vinyl willbe easier to keep clean.
strider 01-30-2006, 03:05 PM Looks great strider. How about a picture of the trunk opened as far as it will go with the rails in?
Here they are. If I was smart I would have taken a picture of the trunk open BEFORE I installed the rails too. These should give you an idea. The trunk lid hits the rails on the rubber pad on the rail in the third picture.
Webwader 01-30-2006, 03:48 PM Thanks strider. It looks like it will still accomodate most items that you would want to fit in the trunk.
RidgeInTheVille 01-30-2006, 04:51 PM It's the regular vinyl and I'm very happy with it. I think the vinyl willbe easier to keep clean.
That's what I was leaning towards for exactly the same reason. Thanks for your take on it.
winters ridge 01-31-2006, 05:02 PM I got one too!!:D
It just arived today.
it took about 30min to install.:)
High quality, fully assembled and it fits.
I does not look like it would be totaly water tight but mostly water proof.
I will keep you posted on my opinion.
Motiondoc 02-08-2006, 12:43 PM Thanks everyone! Great, great advice on something I've been struggling with for months. I just ordered a Torza Premier from truckaddons.com with no shipping charges for $505. Can't wait - they said it would be here next week.
Luvmatruk!
Dave57 02-08-2006, 07:35 PM Can anyone tell me what the Canadian price is for the hard hat with vinyl?
stinger 02-08-2006, 09:18 PM Welcome aboard,
I don't know the price of hard top but I bought my Torza soft cover from King City Trailers, they have the best price in Ontario IMO and can get you the cover in a couple of days,
http://www.kingcitytrailers.com/
Dave57 02-09-2006, 09:10 PM I've got a gal from my local Van and Truck World(Pickering) following up with the King City guys(she says they do a lot of deals with them). I'll find out tomorrow how much they want for the hard hat version.
stinger 02-10-2006, 08:56 AM Van & Truck World in Pickering is good place, but I can't say the same for their Scarborough branch, thats the first place I checked and they told me that they don't deal with Advantage products and have no ways of getting it:rolleyes:
Ludikrisspeed 02-15-2006, 09:39 AM Does it seem like there is an excessive gap in between the cover and the bed walls, or is it just an optical illusion?
fenlason 02-17-2006, 06:51 AM A few pages back someone asked why these Torza covers are more expensive for the Ridgeline than for other trucks. My quess is it because of the rails. On a more conventional truck there are no rails to install.
I had found these covers at a local dealer before I read this link. It seemed like the way i wanted to go.. although I am still trying to decide between the hard and soft versions. The rag top version is attractive but it seems as if it would be harder to clean and such.. I will choose the vinyl myself.
Before my going in my dealer of these tops, they did not even know the Ridgeline existed. They and I were not aware that the rails would interfere with the trunk. I think it is something I can deal with... but I am happy that I was made aware of this through the postings here. Thank you
glenn
Pizza Man 03-25-2006, 05:47 PM Can anyone explain the durability differences between the vinyl and Rag top materials? I'm concerned about the vinyl and cold winter temperatures and how well it resists sun (U/V) damage. I understand the vinyl would be easier to clean but I'm concerned about it becoming brittle over time exposed to the elements. Thanks for the help.

Just like the comments in many other postings, I too had a longer than expected wait. I placed my order on 2/9 and received it with shipping damage on 2/28. Fortunately the damage was on the only bow that does not have anything on it. After several e-mails and telephone calls I was finally able to get a replacement bow on 3/20. It was very easy to replace.

Overall I am very happy with the tonneau cover and I feel like I got a great deal. Unfortunately there were several circumstances that made the entire buying experience not as pleasurable including the lack of communication by RealTruck.com, supply issues at Advantage Truck Accessories and then of course the shipping damage by FedEx Ground.
I really like how the rails match the texture of the bed and how the cover matches the same curve of the tailgate cladding. Installation required a little filling on the end of one of the rails where it meets the front of the bed but overall took me only 20 minutes. It would take less than a minute to remove the cover and another 5 minutes to remove the rails and put the original bolts back in.
BTW - I decided to stress test the already damaged bow. I cut the damaged end off and placed the bow on a 2x4. In my unscientific test I can tell you that I was able to stand on it with 1 foot and it did not bend. A little 200 lb hop however did cause it to bend.
RehabGuy 04-14-2006, 07:44 AM :D I bought the Torza Top Hard Hat Premier. I ordered it from RealTruck.com. Get this - I ordered it on Tuesday 4/11/06 and I received it at my door when I returned home from work on Wednesday 4/12/06. It totally blew me away. I quickly changed clothes and proceeded to perform the 15 minute install, which took me about 35 minutes.
I then ran the truck through the full service car wash in my neighborhood to see how much water I would get in the bed. Mind you, I did not use any of the additional foam supplied. There was approximately 3 cups of water in the bed.
It looks great. It's a breeze to get on and off. It allows plenty of access to the trunk.
I'm totally pleased with this purchase. And all this is mine for only $746 after using the promo code, (SS555) supplied by one of our great members.
NC Blue 04-18-2006, 12:13 PM Appreciate everyones pictures and posts. Just ordered my Torza top. Used discount code. I like the Retrax but that was just more than I was willing to spend. I was told 2 weeks as demand for the Torzas' is high. Can't wait!:)
par3773 04-19-2006, 05:52 AM You will enjoy it. I have had mine for a month and a half. No leaks or any problems. I will be putting a gasket around the tailgate. The negative pressure does allow some dust in. I will probably use the gasket kit from Retrax, as it appears to the be the best for the Ridge on the market.
xesmajew 04-19-2006, 08:46 AM I ordered my Tarza cover yesterday AM and it should be in tomorrow Thursday April 20th. I can't wait to install it. Seems to be a nice product. I ordered from Realtruck.com.
Montia65 04-19-2006, 10:17 AM I looked around and I found a site that has the hardhat (http://www.4wheelonline.com/Products.aspx?CategoryId=27178&ProductId=73273)for $724.99 with free shipping. Is this a good deal and has anyone used this company before?
I'm thinking of getting one, but looking for the best price, I am in no rush.
Thanks in advance
Frank
Pizza Man 04-19-2006, 10:48 AM Check this out. http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4864
$650.00, includes shipping. It may be too late for the group buy, but it won't hurt to ask.
eschep 04-19-2006, 12:03 PM Thanks to all of the contributers to this thread. :D I ordered my Torza Top Hard Hat Cover on Sunday from Amazon ($699 + $15 handling) and it arrived yesterday (Tuesday). I was amazed with the service after reading some of the earlier posts.
I installed it in about 30 minutes. I took some photos showing trunk opening before, after and two-thirds closed and will post when I figure out how.
I hope this helps someone as much as the previous posts helped me.
Pete
RidgeInTheVille 04-19-2006, 01:42 PM Montia65, I sent you a PM with a contact for the group buy.
xesmajew 04-20-2006, 07:55 PM Well I got the cover today. I started the install at three and I was done by three fifteen. Everything fit great and I had no problems or issues. the clamps are great and easy to use. The quality of the top is quite high. Well worth the money. In addition it looks great on the RL.
LATEOTT 04-21-2006, 01:50 PM Well I got the cover today. I started the install at three and I was done by three fifteen. Everything fit great and I had no problems or issues. the clamps are great and easy to use. The quality of the top is quite high. Well worth the money. In addition it looks great on the RL.Which cover (hard/soft) and which material?
PhillyGirl2006 04-21-2006, 02:25 PM We have the hard cover, vinyl material (not premium which I believe is the convertible-top-type material) and it's great. I like the quality and the ease of use. Different than I thought it would be. It looks great on silver! I'm also glad it's the vinyl and not the rag-top.
xesmajew 04-21-2006, 08:48 PM My cover is the soft top. Which I think is the standard top. It is a thick vinyl material
LATEOTT 04-22-2006, 06:56 PM So I'm kind of torn between the Torza hard top and the OEM hard top tonneaus.
The OEM is more expensive, and the one we saw at the dealer had locks on both sides where it attached at the tailgate. BUT, I don't see any evidence of locks at the various online places that sell OEM tonneau covers.
The Torza seems to be less expensive, maybe lighter weight, and doesn't appear to have any locks. To keep things secure in the covered bed I would need to buy and install one of the aftermarket tailgate locks.
From descriptions here, the Torza seems to be the easiest to take on and off.
Neither appear to be completely waterproof.
Anybody know definitively whether the OEM has locks at the tailgate?
Anybody know who makes the OEM top? I doubt it's Honda for some reason...
LATEOTT 04-22-2006, 06:57 PM My cover is the soft top. Which I think is the standard top. It is a thick vinyl materialThanks for your response!
Dr. Dave 11-14-2006, 09:23 PM Hi everyone. With the Torza tonneau cover installed:
1. Does the bed extender work in the front near the cab and the rear positions with the cover on or off?
2. Do the upper front tie down hooks near the cab stay on so they can be used when the cover is taken off?
3. Now that folks have had this product for a while, what is the status on the material:
a. vinyl
b. ragtop
c. other
Thanks.
Arl58 11-19-2006, 07:37 PM Dr. Dave
Just got the Torza tonneau cover for my 2007. I choose the "premier" soft top over the vinyl or as some call it rag top). It is worth the extra $50.00...I had seen them both and it was a no brainer for me...durability\strength is most definetly there....not to discount the vinyl if you are leaning that way...Paid $399.99 at the following dealer...
www.tonneaucoversone.com....This included shipping, you can get the vinyl for $349.99....easy install, very pleased with the results....they carry about a dozen different brands....
Has anyone ever checked eBay for these Advantage covers?
I just searched ridgeline tri-fold and eBay returned several listings. There are even some eBay stores selling these covers.
Hopefully we can find some more reliable sources or lower prices for these covers.
Jason B 12-02-2006, 01:03 AM Hopefully we can find some more reliable sources or lower prices for these covers.
I can get all of these covers for you guys. Feel free to email or PM for special price.
prangein 12-18-2006, 10:45 AM I just installed a Torza and I am pleased with it. I have a trip to VT coming so I'll report on how it handles snow and cold. The only problem in installation was that they sent two T-30 wrenches and no T-40 but I had one already.
killerv 09-15-2008, 12:56 PM Can someone clear this up for me...I emailed Advantage but haven't heard anything back yet.
So there are two types of soft tops, the premium and the regular torzatop. I am assuming the premium is vinyl and the regular is canvas. However, the pics in the beginning of the thread are said not to be the premium, looks like vinyl though. Anyway, do you of you have the canvas version and how is it holding up? Thanks.
GeNeRaL 09-26-2008, 08:34 AM Does anyone know if the Hard Hat Premier will also fit in the back seat if removed?
Thanks,
Geoff
Craig
The trunk opening is restricted as with all covers that have rails installed to support the cover. I would say the trunk opens about 65% with the cover completely closed and about 85% with 1/3 of the cover folded back. I will try to post some pics tomorrow.
The cover will fit in the back seat area when it is removed.
There is no way to secure the clamps on the truck...you would need to secure the tailgate to keep people from removing the top.
You are correct wrt the vinyl and the fabric. They also make a hard cover which would be much more secure if you installed a lock on the tailgate.
RehabGuy 10-22-2008, 08:19 AM Can someone clear this up for me...I emailed Advantage but haven't heard anything back yet.
Thanks.
I have the canvas hard hat top. It's been on my truck for about a year and a half. No issues at all. I love this thing.
RehabGuy 10-22-2008, 08:19 AM Does anyone know if the Hard Hat Premier will also fit in the back seat if removed?
Thanks,
Geoff
Yes it will.
RehabGuy 10-22-2008, 08:23 AM Hi everyone. With the Torza tonneau cover installed:
1. Does the bed extender work in the front near the cab and the rear positions with the cover on or off?
2. Do the upper front tie down hooks near the cab stay on so they can be used when the cover is taken off?
3. Now that folks have had this product for a while, what is the status on the material:
a. vinyl
b. ragtop
c. other
Thanks.
1. I don't have a bed extender.
2. yes.
3.Ragtop on the hardhat is just as the day I bought 1.5 years ago.
I fully reccommend this product.

ridgelinematt 07-18-2009, 02:52 PM Just bought a Torza Hard Hat Premier Tri-Fold Tonneau on ebay from a seller called Queen of Tonnos for $484.
I had to do keep going over the description of the product to make sure it was the correct one. The product code matches the Advantage product codes. Not sure why the price is low but I jumped on it.
I was leaning toward the Bakflip G2 but at this price I could'nt pass on the savings.

Great price for a great product and delivery was very fast. You should be pleased as I am. Buy some extra gasket in a wider width for the tie-down wells and under the rail at the ends, (tailgate) you'll see a gap where it sits on the back ledge with the pre-install. Also, tighten the center bolt first to match the curveture of the bed.
I installed the Torza Tri-Fold soft top yesterday. The install was very easy but I recommend using your own wrenches if you got them instead of the supplied ones that come with the top. They nearly stripped the screw heads, but when I used my own, they fit better.
At first, I had trouble getting the clamps to tighten to my satisfaction. I have the plastic clamps that you rotate to lock down.
The directions say that you can make them less loose by turning the handle counter-clockwise. It depends how you look at it, but you should turn the handle along with the clamp like you would screw on a cap. That helped me turn it the right direction. Doing this allowed me to get it as tight as I needed. (At first, I was trying to just turn the handle w/o the clamp, but this didn't allow me to turn it as much as I needed.)
Also, make sure you fold the clamp in its storage position before you flip the cover open. Otherwise, it can poke a hole right through the cover.
PHILLYRIDGE 08-06-2009, 08:24 AM What size wrenches did you use? I installed mine a while ago and didnt get it as tight as I would have liked to with fear of stripping it!

Yeah I should have mentioned that. I stripped-out a center bolt with those wrenches they supplied, ended up getting a tap-bit to back out the bolt.
The wrenches are sort of rounded at the ends, you'll need the torx 40 & 50 to do the job.

This one is still available and the price is right from Tonnoqueen on Ebay. I bought this one from them in July.
It's the Torza Hard Hat Premier Model #58901

RidgeRunner1983 12-12-2009, 03:45 PM I just purchased a Torza Top Hard Hat Premier tonneau cover from tonnoqueen of of ebay. I got a really good deal on it ($385 shipped), but probably too good of a deal. I went to install the rails today and found out that the clearance holes in the rail didn't line up with the holes in the truck - looked to be about 1/4 - 1/2 inch off. Another problem was that they rails didnt seat up against the truck, there was a big gap in between the truck and the gasket material. Is that why the extra roll of gasket material was provided? Can anyone help me out with this or shed some light on the issues here?
Thanks-
James

Try Lining up the center holes first then you can work the rest of the rail.
Then tighten the center position first.

I used some clear caulking to fill in the gap on the back window tie down.
If you attach the bolt at the back window section very loosely and let the rail hang away from the bed side and then attach the other bolt loosely, not only will the holes line up as you tightened but you will be able to keep the upper tie down in place.

RidgeRunner1983 12-13-2009, 04:16 PM Thanks for the help guys. With a few set backs and a little bit of cussing haha, I finally got the cover installed. Probably not the best day to do it outside at 3 in the afternoon, pretty cold out lol. I got the left rail on without removing the tie down, after pretty much demolishing that center bolt with those bastard wrenches that were supplied. The right rail wouldn't go on with the tie down, so I removed that it. When I went to lay the cover on the rails, it wouldnt seat correctly, that damn tie down I left on was hindering it! Took the left rail off, and removed the tie down. There is absolutely nothing left of that center bolt now. I couldnt get it it tightned enough to eliminate the gap between the gasket seal and the truck bed. All I did was make metal chips when trying to tighten it. I can live with that right now but would like to get some new bolts. Anyone know what size they are?

I posted several pages back that you needed to get your own wrenches because the supplied ones are pretty much crud with their rounded ends. I had to buy a drill bit that made for stripped bolts to loosen a stripped center bed bolt. One side of the bit drills a small hole, turn it around and the other end grips the bolt and backs it out. Make sure you vacuum the metal shavings, I forgot to get it all and it ended up leaving rust spots in my bed and trunk edges. You can take you bolt to a hardware store to match it up, you'll probably get a faster response that way.
Hope this helps. Overall, I'm very pleased with my cover.

Yeah I remember reading that and I proceded anyway. My excitement took over and I decided to risk it. I checked at our rinky dink little hardware store to see if they had any torx bits, but all they had was about a hundred T40 bits and nothing else. It's my own fault for not listening but the cover served its purpose already...got about 4 inches of snow last night and boy was it nice just to take the snow rake and pull it off.
Bob79 12-18-2009, 05:57 PM Hello, I haven't posted in a LONG time, but still love my 06' RT.
I just put on the Torza premier top, and getting the one rail on was kinda rough as the threads were off a little, but I got it on.
Anyways, I have a few questions:
1.) My instructions reffered to "red retaining straps (four snaps)". I don't have any RED straps, they are all black. There are two black snaps at the end of the cover by the gate that I'm pretty sure unsnap so you can lock them into the corresponding clasps at the part of the cover closest to the cab when leaving the cover open. What are the "red straps"?
2.) My cover has 2 clamps at each end, for a total of 4 clamps. At the end of the cover closest to the cab there are also two straps hanging down next to the those clamps. I do not know what they are for, does anyone know?
Thanks!

A) They probably changed the colors of the strapping without updating the instructions.
2.) My cover has 2 clamps at each end, for a total of 4 clamps. At the end of the cover closest to the cab there are also two straps hanging down next to the those clamps. I do not know what they are for, does anyone know?
A) Those straps are meant to clamp the cover to your side rail as another form of security when the panels are folded back.
Thanks!
Your good to go.
I added locking pins to my clamps for some added security.
Bob79 12-19-2009, 11:31 AM What kind of "locking pins" did you use??
And you're saying those straps are to be used when the cover is folded back all the way, and they lock to the rails in a similar fashion as the clamps?
Thanks for the help.
ridgelinematt 12-19-2009, 05:20 PM The orange/red strap clamps as you see, are not the same as the tie down locking levers. Just tighten them down to the side rail. I used locking pins that you'd see on trailers/campers, bought at my local hardware store.
Bob79 12-19-2009, 07:13 PM ridgelinematt- Thanks for all the info, and thanks for the good pics too!
I see what you mean about the red straps now, those are exactly what I have, they are just all black. I attached them to the rail.
I also see the locking pins you're talking about, I can get them at Ace Hardware. I have very similar pins on a utility trailer.
Looks like my top is all set to go. All I have to do now is call the Honda dealer on Monday to see if they will do the transmission TSB on my truck!
rstalk 01-02-2010, 01:57 PM I found a lot of great reviews on tonneau covers prior to purchase on the forum, so just thought I would through in my two bits on my recent purchase of an Advantage Torza soft top. Since I had concluded I would go with a soft top, I decided to go with the Advantage Torza top. As advertised, the installation of the unit went quite well. It really is install ready with a little screw removal to fit the side rails on. I will give one important recommendation. In order to remove the front and and middle torx bolts, I had a hard time removing them with the allen style wrench they supplied. In fact, on the smaller head, I ended up stripping the bolt and needed to have a mechanic remove it with a bolt remover. Do yourself a favor and invest in two screwdriver torx tools to save yourself some grief.
The cover fits great and is very easy to take on and off. So far, I have had it in the snow and rain and it is quite strong with little or no wind noise. I like that it has alumunium supports under the cover to handle snow load when required. I would rate the water tightness around 98% so not bad at all.
You do loose a little of the maximum heigth of the in-bed cover lid, but it does raise high enough so not really a problem. The side rails have a rubber treatment installed, so it wouldn't even scratch the lid.
If you are not looking to have higher security of a hard top, but mainly want items protected by the elements and out of site, out of mind security, I would recommend the Advantage tri-fold in a heart beat. It is well thought out cover for the Ridgline specifics.
