New register... long time reader.... The site is incredible and I would like to thank, (too many names to list), all of you with the great information in obtaining my SILVER RTS... Everything from the checklist when picking up the RL to the numerous accessories, quirks and fun everyone has been having.
I have been tracking the ridgeline way before it was ever produced. Once I saw it on the Internet I said I had to have it.... The one thing for me however was I am 6' 9" and have an issue with fitting behind the wheel of most vehicles. When the preproduction specs came out I compared the interior with the Chevy Avalanche since I knew I fit behind that wheel. I was happy to see the ridgeline had very similar interior specs. I test drove the RL the day before it was released but I hesitated the purchase since I did not care for all the extras and waited for the RT. My past experience with powered seats vs. manual seats is that a power seat usually gives you some extra room. This is the case with the RL... Well to make a long story short... I waited a little longer to save a little more money and I purchased the RTS. As my wife put it you might as well get it all since you deserve it and you waited... (I know, I know, the RTS is not the top of the line but the sun roof takes away some head room and at my size I could tell the difference and it made me a little uncomfortable... more like claustrophobic....
Ongoing impressions: I love it. The drive by wire is a little more sensitive for me. It is taking some time to get use too, especially the brakes.
My mods: I had the foot rest taken out and a friend of mine is making a custom one out of metal that sits a little further back and screws to the original place.
I am currently mounting a Pyle brand 8" LCD with a dual wireless camera setup for backing up and night vision, (lots of the large rats around here.... Deer). Wireless so I can monitor from inside the house at night and for camera placement of my choice.
(To attach my cameras: I sanded off the paint from the camera mount and epoxy several neodymium magnets recycled from my used sonicare toothbrush heads... I have been saving those for years... To protect the paint I then fixed 3M self-adhesive laminate sheets to the magnets. For the 9V battery, I created a double rubber sealed case that attaches to the camera bracket... For the receiver I purchased a monster cable 12v adapter kit.)
I also will be ordering a bull bar and fog lamps.
I know that posts without pictures are worthless, but you will have to be patient because I have to wait for Santa to bring me a digital camera...
Attached are the raw materials to my wireless camera set up...
