Being forced to look for an alternate to a direct Ipod input since my experiment with the Blitzsafe adapter failed today, I see that Crutchfield advises that the factory sub will NOT work with any aftermarket head units. Is this really true, or is Crutchfield mistaken? If it is, anyone know why?

Hmm. I can't really say why, but I do think that's strange. Everytime I look for stuff on Crutchfield, it makes me denote with or without sub. If it wasn't going to work, why does it matter? And Crutchfield makes wire harness adapters for EVEYTHING! It seems easy enough to make a plug that takes the aftermarket sub RCA outputs into a Honda sub plug?

From what i've read in the forum the stock sub gets its power from the stock deck, and like the other guy said i've never heard of a aftermarket deck having more than four speaker outputs

There is no way to connect the factory sub to an aftermarket HU unless you use a wire splicing kit that crutchfield offers.
