winters ridge 01-08-2006, 07:25 PM Why in the world would they put front mud flaps and not rear mud flaps?
not that i would want them to charge people for front flaps.
it seems like a factory defect not including the rear ones.
Grok Lobster 01-08-2006, 07:30 PM Agreed!
(just posted the same answer on another thread)
Truckin' 01-08-2006, 07:41 PM First of all, welcome to the ROC.
Secondly, sadly, I have to agree with you. It simply looks unbalanced without them, to say nothing about their intended purpose.
This is one of the cheapest things they could include to make this great truck even better.
We added them right away.
ProHonda 01-08-2006, 07:43 PM Depends on the dealer, our truck had all 4 installed...........:D
Craig 01-08-2006, 08:21 PM I received the rear flaps as a Christmas gift and installed them yesterday. Would have taken 5 minutes but I had to wash the truck first. Definitely should have been standard equipment.
rtraviator 01-08-2006, 09:41 PM AGREE! That was the one and only dealer installed option I wanted. I didn't even drive it off the lot until they were installed.

Hey buddy! Those were the first items we bought from our ROC club sponsor. really easy to install but I have to agree should have come with the truck.
winters ridge 01-11-2006, 02:53 PM Well i did it.
i called the dealer and then the 800 number and told them (in a nice way) that the truck looks like it got missed by quality control without rear mud guards.
both the dealer and the nice woman at customer service agreed with me about the mud guards.
she logged my complaint and stated if enough people spoke up about it that may influence future cars.
It does not help me get free mud guards but maybe the 07 ridge might get them stock.
I mean really.
every truck and SUV that my family and I have owned came with mud guards.
and they put them on all four wheels.
CUinaRidge 01-11-2006, 09:50 PM The mud flaps on my ridge came off the lot as dealer installed. I forgot what they charged for them?? $186?? The other added option was the wheel locks.
I just made sure my final come back offer came with them PAID for, So I still was 1000 below invoice at the final offer.
:)

Awesome, I think we paid $59.00 and they took about 5 minutes. Four of which was used to find the screwdriver.:D
mugen1 01-11-2006, 10:37 PM All Hondas come from the factory with no rear mud flaps. In my neck of the woods, it is a gift that Honda dealers give out.
And don't forget to throw in the rear mud flaps.......... standard sentence just before signing the deal. It's an understanding. The accessory is cheap enough to be a freebie. It usually gets taken out of the salesperson's commission.
CBRidgeJockey 01-12-2006, 12:22 AM Alberta Honda....installed rears flaps and locking lugs N/C on all models on their lot. See Andrew Smith for a smoking good deal if your in the market and neighbourhood. :D

I wish i realized it did not come with the rear mud flaps.:o
i would have beat up the sales person a little more to get them thrown in.
Oh well.
i made out a pretty good deal anyway.
moumou48 01-12-2006, 06:16 AM I got mine yesterday. I will put them on today after I wash/wax the RL.
I have to drive for an hour (one way) to get the mud flaps since they gave me discount for purchasing the parts.
Yes. They should be standard.
paidoffridgeline 01-12-2006, 08:38 AM where can I get a set?
meanmachine19 01-12-2006, 08:46 AM where can I get a set?
Try http://www.handaacessories.com
They are quick and reasonably priced. That's where I got mine from. They are easy to install as mentioned in the other posts.
They make the truck look so much better!
mugen1 01-12-2006, 09:27 AM Life sucks and then you die.......
base models have no right hand mirror
lower trim models have non colour matching mirrors
trucks don't come with rear bumpers
no intermitent wipers
no rear wipers
That's just the way it is. I guess the manufacturers can include those things. They'll just add it to the overall price.
One manufacturer sets the standard and everybody follows.
One thing is for sure, the RL is good value for the buck. No mud flaps is a Honda tradition. I think all cars should have six air bags and come with Navi, alloy wheels, fuzzy dice, 12 000 watt surround sound theatre system, and a partridge in a pear tree.
OK, I'm losing it here..........
colorider 01-24-2006, 07:25 AM I mean really. every truck and SUV that my family and I have owned came with mud guards. and they put them on all four wheels.
You are lucky since I have never bought a SUV or truck that came with splash guards on all four corners as "standard equipment". At most, front wheels only (as in Honda Pilot and RidgeLine).
:)
Rear mud flaps--I bought mine, and the installation was easy.
With regard to the lug locks, maybe I'm somewhat naive, but I can't imagine anyone wanting to steel the stock wheels and hubs. And based on the number for sale on this site...
c_duncan_pe 12-11-2006, 10:16 AM I agree the rear mudflaps should be standard, it seems they are on other AWD vehicles.
My RL came with rear mud flaps from the dealer with no extra cost. However, they where not bolted on properly. They would have rubbed the paint on the fenderwell if I had not noticed the issue in time.

ksgman 12-11-2006, 11:29 AM This was the first accessory that I bought. The Ridge is such a nice truck but there are some very silly things about it that make me nuts. Like no standard rear mud flaps, no standard MP3 capability, no DBS on the stereo.
I can't believe that the CD player cannot read disc info!
sgmbarnes 01-01-2007, 12:35 PM I agree, if it comes with front guards it should have the rear ones too! I had the dealer put them on before I picked it up, but it cost me! It seems like if you pay 31K for a truck that it would have this stuff standard, such as rear mud flaps, mp3 jack etc.:(

Lets not forget the full size spare that should have been included....Bad Honda !!!
