: R of the Month Nominations...
spdrcr5 01-10-2006, 06:03 AM Please post in this thread your nominations for Ridgeline of the Month. You can nominate your own truck or if you saw pictures of someone else's truck. Just put a reply in this thread, please include a couple of pictures along with it.
As Tom said in his other post, having nice backgrounds makes for nicer pictures. While it isn't mandatory to have the nicest background it just looks nicer. :)
You do not have to have tons and tons of mods to be considered or even to win. If you have some beautiful shots showing your R out and about whether offroad, driving in the sand, along a river, parked with a nice sunset behind it... whatever scene you choose. Just post it up.
When we find what we like we will send out an email with a questionairre for you to fill out. Get it back to us as soon as possible along with 6-10(or more) hi-res pictures. The date we contact you has no bearing on which month you will be picked for. We are trying to have these done at least 1 month ahead of time when possible. So please, post your pics and nominations. The sooner the better.
Garth's reign as R of the Month comes to an end Feb 1... who will be the next winner? :)
Long Gone 01-10-2006, 11:17 AM Truckin'. :)
willy212 01-10-2006, 12:56 PM I am with the ROC queen. TRUCKIN
Webwader 01-10-2006, 12:59 PM I agree. Truckin' has posted some fine pictures.
fins2theright 01-10-2006, 05:34 PM Okay, I really like this truck from TOMEK. That's my nomination. I also love this half-faced picture.
Or, if backgrounds are a factor, may I be so humble to niminate mysel? LOL, sorry.:p If so, here's one. I also included an 'action shot'........if that's soemthing being considered. It's winter here, and I just want to see summer pictures. Any palm tree shots out there?

MontanaFred 01-10-2006, 06:32 PM This coming Sunday I'm going cross country skiing at the BBar ranch in Montana. It is in a secluded mountainous area and I might be able to take some nice pictures. If I can I will post them here.
Truckin' 01-10-2006, 10:06 PM Thanks for the nominations. It makes me blush. . .
I have some favorites I'd like to nominate. Fins has got great shots. I know Montana Fred will be on here without fail with the fabulous shots he's posted. I'm partial to the redrock photos. Look at Ridge, meanmachine19 and hankim for some outstanding desert country shots. I know there have been some more fab shots, but these are the ones that come to mind right away.
UglyTruckling 01-10-2006, 10:32 PM Thanks for the nominations. It makes me blush. . .

Yeah, but for the sheer number of beautiful shots in different locations, Truckin, you were the first ROC'er that came to my mind.
Although I have to admit that one of my current favorite pictures is MontanaFred's (http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showpost.php?p=56937&postcount=34), just because it reminds me of a setting we found ourselves in a few years ago on a road trip through Wyoming and Montana.
Let's face it -- are there really any BAD pictures of a Ridgeline?
farmguy 01-10-2006, 11:13 PM Fins has got great shots...
Ya... you notice you can see a reflection on his tires?!?!
Geez.....
Webwader 01-11-2006, 08:24 AM Any thoughts on doing a calendar?
Wow! 12 Ridgelines in revealing poses. That would be cool. :D
BIGGUY 01-11-2006, 08:32 AM It may be considered prejudice but I vote for "TRUCKIN"
mayfielh 01-11-2006, 09:01 AM It may be considered prejudice but I vote for "TRUCKIN"
I was going to vote for you Bigguy. :D
Ridge 01-11-2006, 02:14 PM Wow! 12 Ridgelines in revealing poses. That would be cool. :D
Trunks open of course. I've always been hard core though. :D
Truckin has got some good stuff so I'll nominate her. She also knows good stuff when she sees it. :) I've seen alot of good photos, but I haven't really been keeping track of who they belong to.
farmguy 01-12-2006, 12:18 AM Any thoughts on doing a calendar? How cool would THAT be?!?Wow! 12 Ridgelines in revealing poses. That would be cool. :D
So, that would include Ridgena without her bra...!!? ;) :D
...
5S Dude 01-12-2006, 12:32 AM I concur! Truckin's expertise in photography is an inspiration to us all and completely captures the beautiful planet we all share. She really ROC’s and so I nominate Truckin.
Ron (5S Dude)

fins
nevadagarth 01-17-2006, 02:27 PM I nominate BIGGUY/Truckin'!! They both have a great passion for the ROC!
You all should have seen the little banner and decoration Truckin' put together for the Utah mini-ROC meet. It was really cool and just further illustrated her enthusiasm for the Ridgeline and the ROC.
meinahonda 01-18-2006, 03:35 PM Hey thanks for the Nomi MM19. Dont worry I'll keep the pics coming. Stay tuned to the ROC Forums.
Snapshot 01-18-2006, 11:01 PM Thanks TheRidgester for the nomination, the truck is still in change mode yet more items will be added in the next few months (mostly exterior).
thanks again
T Mac 01-27-2006, 06:00 PM Remember guys... the winner each month has to have some high-quality images of the truck's outside, inside and it helps if it's in a nice location.
flymuck 01-29-2006, 06:40 PM I nominate me. Is that so wrong?
Check out these cool pics of my Ridge in my backyard... no, I'm not kidding! So, I didn't have to go very far to take the pics, but I still think they're real purty-like. :D
farmguy 01-29-2006, 06:54 PM Excellent flymuck! Nice color and I don't mean the silver truck! :D
Silver makes a nice mirror, tho'.
Your photos make my previous (unacknowledged) point that we should also have 'Photo of the Month'. This would be the best photo, not the best truck. (Not that your truck isn't the best  ).
It first occurred to me when LR posted that squiggly photo of the three RLs reflected in the window panes.
Maybe I'll start my own thread... "Artsy-Fartsy Pics of Ridges" ! :p
BTW, nice backyard!
flymuck 01-29-2006, 07:02 PM Excellent flymuck! Nice color and I don't mean the silver truck!
Silver makes a nice mirror, tho'.
It's not primer colored! It's steel blue! See how crazy steel blue is? It looks totally different depending on the light. Easy mistake to make, especially when you're so used to looking at plain-jane white. ;) :D
I thought that the R of the Month kinda was a Photo of the Month thing, isn't it? I mean, isn't that the point, so you get your RL's photo on the home page of the site? (C'mon, why else would I go to all the trouble to drive my RL into the back yard *just* to take pictures of it? Surely it couldn't be just because I adore my truck, could it? :o :D )
Truckin' 01-29-2006, 07:39 PM Outstanding photos, flymuck! I'm with you about the BLUE having such a range of hues depending on the light. It's quite amazing to watch it change. You captured part of that spectrum in a fabulous way.
bonerep 01-29-2006, 09:42 PM How about these for the FIRST San Diego EOS and ROC meet.

Ahhhhh! My sincere apologies for missing that... :o wasn't paying attention! You and Truckin' are definitely right about the blue picking up other colors.
Yeah, I think you need to have good photos of your truck to win ROTM, but my sense is that it is more about the truck itself than any particular photo. I just went back and read the beginning post for this thread, and it seems pretty clear they are most interested in the truck itself and what is unique about it. Notice they want 6-10 hi-res photos to use for the winner, and are suggesting that it is nicer to have a pleasant background. Would be a good question, I guess.
My idea for the photo contest is that the photo is the point, whether it be a unique shot, gorgeous scenery, artistically done, whatever... The underlying theme would be that the shot has something to do with Ridgelines, but the winner would depend on the photo, not the truck. Hey, maybe I could even work a little camera magic with Plain Jane! :D
Not sure I am making any sense, .... but that's my 2 cents.

No worries, farmguy. Like I said, it's easy for steel blue to look like other strange colors (like primer!) -- it looks really odd next to my *very* blue Insight...
I like your idea for a photo contest -- I guess mine won't qualify for the ROTM thing, although I do have the fog lights, roof rack, running boards, and door protectors, which make for a nice, finished look. I have about 6 pictures (hi-res if preferred) from the series I shot tonight, if anyone's interested... (hint hint, T Mac ;) )
LOL ok I'll shuddup now... :D
Nice pics of the San Diego meet! I wish I could've made it... my life seems to get more hectic by the minute...

Don't be so sure you won't qualify. To quote the first post on this thread:
"You do not have to have tons and tons of mods to be considered or even to win. If you have some beautiful shots showing your R out and about whether offroad, driving in the sand, along a river, parked with a nice sunset behind it... whatever scene you choose."
Sounds like you, don't you think? And I noticed they also say you can nominate your own truck.
I think you're IN....!!

We'll see... (fingers crossed...) I'm getting greedy for ROC props now that I've passed 500 posts... :D
flipSTREAM 02-05-2006, 11:40 PM I think you should gather the "nominated" ones and post their picture and make a poll and have the members "vote" on the one they like the most. ;)
...with that said, i'll be taking some pics shortly. :D
UglyTruckling 02-06-2006, 08:57 PM I nominate me. Is that so wrong?

Wow... that's a heck of a backyard! Beautiful pictures.
I don't think we're gonna have enough months to ever squeeze every great truck photo in, at the rate we're going.
mayfielh 02-16-2006, 12:09 PM I would like to nominate this RL for the R of the Month.

JC's Ridge 02-16-2006, 06:21 PM I however nominate this truck:

Hello JC's Ridge,
The state is correct.
The exact location is right off the PCH near Pt. Mugu Naval Base.
JC's Ridge 02-16-2006, 10:41 PM Hi DA TRUCK,
Boy, was I way off.
Thinking that you are from Santa Barbara, I just assumed you headed up that way.
I just saw the rest of your pictures in another thread.
They were very nice.

5S Dude 02-24-2006, 08:04 AM Without a doubt, one of the meanest looking Ridgeline's in the club utilizing the off-road motif that I've seen so far. :D
fins2theright 02-24-2006, 11:00 AM I agree with 5sdude. I love that black RL with the offroaders! I went off road myself today. Took some pics! The ugly cold dead winter scenery is kind'a boring though I know.

fins, you've done it again. Those are stunning photos of your beautiful green truck. Nothing shabby about the scenery either.

Cajun Country Ridgeline 02-27-2006, 03:58 PM i Vote For Trucking!!!!!!!!!!:d
UglyTruckling 03-08-2006, 06:38 PM Anyone else eagerly anticipating the March R of the Month? It's getting so much harder to pick just one, I imagine....
Westtexridge 03-09-2006, 11:31 AM I love this truck!! I actually have TCW's bookmarked on my browser! :)

UglyTruckling 04-15-2006, 12:55 PM Wondering... will there be an April truck of the month???? I can think of some good candidates....
Katin 04-15-2006, 01:10 PM Darthridge!
Cajun Country Ridgeline 04-15-2006, 03:35 PM SOME GREAT CHOICES!
I VOTE FOR TRUCKIN, HIS LAST BATCH PICS AROUND THE APRIL 1ST WERE FANTASTIC.
EVERYONE KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.
Truckin' 04-15-2006, 07:00 PM Thanks for nominating me, Cajun Country Ridgeline. I had a good time getting those shots of everyone's beautiful trucks in the magical scenery of Sedona. However, I was the recipient of the March ROTM award. I think it's someone else's turn. Also, just want you to know I'm a woman. I thought everyone knew that by now.
meanmachine19 04-16-2006, 08:31 AM Well, Truckin' has my vote of course, hands down. Her trip to/from Sedona and of the Sedona Meet are awesome and I would have a hard time picking one single pic! :p
Of course, Toobuku took a few good pics in Sedona, too! ;)
ridgeln 04-16-2006, 05:55 PM Also, just want you to know I'm a woman. I thought everyone knew that by now.
You're a WOMAN! Jeeze - women own this truck? Really? And I suppose you'll tell me that LadyRidge is a woman, too!
LOL!!!!
Ok - seriously:
Who says you can't be ROTM twice? There are rules? Where? I vote for ALL of the trucks who made it to AZ as evidenced by Truckin's (and everyone elses) pics! Great scenery, showing the trucks in a beautiful setting and LOTS of them together - isn't that what this site is all about? The enjoyment of the Honda Ridgeline Truck (Motor Trend Truck of the Year 2006, along with tons of others...).

bigtars@hotmail.com 04-24-2006, 09:01 PM My vote goes toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo-- each of you that has modified or changed your Ridgeline to make it suit your wants and needs. What you change about your truck may be a different approach as compared to what I would do but I still like them all.I like them clean and I like them low. Some like them tall and dirty. I will not be satisfied until this one sits so low that a bug has to go around it.I've had tall trucks, short trucks, long trucks, all kinds of trucks, and I still own a 1999 Ford crewcab dually.Like each of you,I get what I want, when I want it,my color choice and at my price.I can't vote for just one.I want to vote for all of them.
Truckin' 04-24-2006, 10:02 PM Here's my pic for R of the month...
Ruffles, I love your picture but what I really want to know is how did you attach such a big image???
Ruffles 04-25-2006, 08:35 AM The reason I can attach a large image is I'm hosting the pic myself rather than uploading to ROC. If you have a Windows machine, install IIS. That gives you web and FTP service. Make sure you have a firewall and know what your doing because you can really make yourself vulnerable. It's really nice, however, to be able to post pics in all the different forums I frequent.

Nice looking ride!:D :) But not as good looking as "BLUE" and it's hard to be humble when it's perfect in every way:cool:
rvancil 05-05-2006, 11:15 AM Nope, I win:D
tlaudio 05-05-2006, 01:53 PM ^^^ How did you get black roof racks ???
Me thinks you spray painted them???
NKyRidge 05-05-2006, 02:10 PM i noticed that too - black - thought it was the pic..humm do tell..
rvancil 05-05-2006, 05:45 PM I painted them that way myself:D Took them all apart, sanded, painted, and then clear coated them. They came out looking great, and I think they look 100x's better then the factory silver does on the blue ridge.
Ghostly 05-05-2006, 07:14 PM Yeah, but I built mine....
bigtars@hotmail.com 05-05-2006, 09:13 PM Gentlemen,Gentlemen, don't let this roof rack attack get out of hand. Remain calm.

5S Dude 05-15-2006, 09:17 PM I nominate Toobuku and his silver Raider with the Lambo doors for May's Ridge of the month. Unbelieveable!  :D
I completely concur with Twintym on this one!! Tony’s butterfly doors are really over the top in the kustomizing department.:D
T Mac 05-15-2006, 09:24 PM Sorry for the delay in some of the winners guys. The problem is that most people post pics but don't have high-resolution versions that we can re-use on the site. Please keep that in mind when you snap pics --- hi-res, clean, good locations.
Toobuku 05-18-2006, 11:43 PM I normally don't visit this thread but was K.T.F.O. when I saw that Twintym and 5S Dude had nominated my Ridgeline Raider for Truck of The Month for May! :o I really appreciate that very much and very proud just to be considered!
Long Gone 05-19-2006, 09:25 AM ME TOO...ME TOO!! I vote for the winged Angel Ridge too!!
Hey Tony. I tried to hook you and I up with a set of "Pimpstars" but the company that makes them said they don't do sponsorships and it looks like they are about $1,200.00 a set. Very sophisticated system with a remote modem and all. Looks like I wait for that one. But you should just go for it. THEN...drive to Ohio in July and show your bad Raider off!! :D
Here was his response to my email.
There is currently no sponsor program at Custom Wheel. Thank you.
Call 1-888-266-5177 and ask for me (Keith) to order and I will take care of
you. I will give you FREE chrome valve stems, and chrome lugs with each set
of wheels purchased. I will also give FREE mounting and balancing if you
purchase tires with your wheels.
Can you just picture a Raider inside those wheels lighting up the night??
Go baby, go!! :D
NKyRidge 05-19-2006, 09:35 AM how in the heck do you get in there?? :p pretty cool - how wide do the front doors open to allow easy access?
Toobuku 05-19-2006, 10:23 AM ME TOO...ME TOO!!
Thank you M'Ladyridge!
Toobuku 05-19-2006, 10:24 AM how in the heck do you get in there?? :p pretty cool - how wide do the front doors open to allow easy access?
I am going to add some pictures of me sitting and exitng the truck with the back doors shut this weekend! Stand by! :)
cdepuydt 05-20-2006, 07:17 PM I agree....that is an awsome setup, Toobuku. Looks like to me you have too much free time/disposable income on your hands....you jerk! :D
Actually, if there is a RL of the Year...Toobuku's got my vote!!!

LMAO, Trust me, I'm a cash whore for a reason! Only way to buy my toys! Really, thank you for the compliment
Ridgegal 05-21-2006, 11:21 AM I definitely nominate Toobuku.....
His RL is just one of a kind and he is one of a kind person and deserves this nomination.
GO TOOBUKU!!!!!
TheRidgester 05-21-2006, 02:00 PM Toobuku.... You have my vote! Your truck looked great before the doors.. Now your light years ahead:cool: Does the ridge get better mileage when ya fly?;)

It will when I find the other items I'm looking for! ;)
Mike B 05-23-2006, 09:08 AM Too, that is one bad ride. Brings tears to my eyes man....LOL Great job.
I find myself liking all the different "takes" on the trucks. I probably would have a couple of them if I was to do it right. One like your's, slammed with 22's, and all the "citified" bling. Then another that looked like it just ran the Baja 1000.
My biz as a Contractor and the location of my jobs are dictating the style of ride mine is taking on. Function over form to a degree. So, I'm sure mine will be somewhere between the two looks, but leaning towards being an "offy".
Anyway, you should win this thing!:D
Pizza Man 05-23-2006, 09:12 AM This is a tough choice this time. I'm really impressed with ChrisM's RL as long as his handcrafted Tonneau is featured.
Truckin' 05-23-2006, 09:37 AM Great candidates are stacking up. Tony is a shoe in. There's no doubt that you deserve this honor. I'm also waiting to see MontanaFred's photos in the spotlight. fins has the finest photos of a green machine. I love flymuck's sunset BLUE photos. Then there's 5Sdude's fine black rig. More choices with Lowrider, Ghostly, flipstream, Ruffles, Hez, BIGBLOCKDODGE, meinahonda, Snapshot. . . Surely some of these photos are high enough resolution. We're looking at them on computer screens, not printing them out. I hope a new honoree will be announced soon.
UglyTruckling 05-23-2006, 10:55 AM Great candidates are stacking up. .... I hope a new honoree will be announced soon.
I'm hoping there will be an announcement soon -- we missed April, and are coming close to missing May!
Have the mods given up on this topic, or are they just swamped with other stuff?
brich 05-23-2006, 11:00 AM It may be a good idea to have a new thread started at the begining of each month... This beast has been going since January and it's tough to weed through to find the latest month's nominations... :)
meinahonda 05-23-2006, 02:22 PM WOW Tony! I thought no one would ever Lambo the RL. Thanks for the pics, and you got my vote.

Thanks Mike and I know what you mean! I like having the 4x4 option but also knew the closest I would get to do 4x4 wheeling would be driving onto a beach and doing a beach dive! So I went for the street rig!
Toobuku 05-23-2006, 09:36 PM WOW Tony! I thought no one would ever Lambo the RL. Thanks for the pics, and you got my vote.
Thanks Amigo! :D

I don't know Pam! There are a nice variety of Ridgelines out there! Mine is unique but so are all of ours!
Mike B 05-24-2006, 06:46 AM Hi Tony,
Thought I'd attach a pic of the main reason (outside of work) that I'm headed towards the off-road end of things.....I mean, the "Boys" wanna go too! :D
Toobuku 05-24-2006, 12:50 PM Hi Tony,

You, Truckin, and Big Guy have a lot in common! Your passengers!
Mike B 05-25-2006, 05:09 PM Well there is a school of thought that says, "No outfit is complete without a little dog hair on it!" :D
mugen1 06-24-2006, 12:10 AM Toobuku has my vote, as well. Not just for the doors, but for all the other items on his truck.
hofffam 06-26-2006, 12:19 PM This thread is not appropriate for Tooboku. His truck should be a R of the Year winner, not R of the Month.
What an unbelievable truck....
lowrider90 06-26-2006, 01:21 PM If I only had wings I could fly!
you guys are so fickle, someone younger and better looking comes along and you forget all about me!
I'll stand by to pull toobuku out of the mud if he ever dares. looks like strickly road tire on the the silver fly.
RIDGID 06-26-2006, 07:38 PM Too's is truely the RIDGE of the year!

You are correct lowrider! I can get down and dirty but not in the Raider! Not my thing to do on a regular basis. ;) To Mugen1, hofffam, and Ridgid, thank you all for your nominations and kind words. :o

As much as I like TooBuku's ridge, the year is just half over. And with this site expanding exponentially, there's no telling. If you look at some things that the electronics people are doing... it's mind-blowing. I hope to see a hydraulic low-rider Ridge sometime soon.
Pizza Man 06-30-2006, 10:39 AM It has probably been said before, if so I'll say it again, Toobuku deserves more than "R" of the Month. I nominate his RL for "R" of the Year!
meanmachine19 08-20-2006, 07:57 AM Looks like the ROC of the Month has died out. It started out on a monthly basis (Jan/Feb/March Threads) but nothing much since:( This area needs new life! How about it mods??
Truckin' 08-20-2006, 10:34 AM I'm looking forward to a new lineup of pics too. There are lots of people who have taken some great photos of their trucks. Perhaps this should be renamed Ridge in the Spotlight, or Ridgeline of Merit so that it doesn't create what seems to be the apparently unrealistic expectation that we get a new one each month.

Great idea, Truckin'. I love seeing pics of our RL's along with some of the outstanding scenery this country has to offer.
ChrisM 09-04-2006, 08:08 AM Great idea, Truckin'. I love seeing pics of our RL's along with some of the outstanding scenery this country has to offer.
I agree. I think this award should be brought back. It doesn't have to be for someone who has done a ton of modifications on their truck, it can be for someone who has contributed a lot to the board or even for just a nice picture.
geotech 09-04-2006, 08:37 AM ChrisM has the right idea. How about Ridgeline Photo of the Month contest, complete with poll? The Ridge is extremely photogenic. Rules such as only one entry per person per month. Maybe one week to submit a pic and 3 weeks to vote. The Winner is reigning champ and post #1 for the next month's thread and vote? Each month a new thread. Just a thought.....
Otter68 09-29-2006, 03:25 AM Sure seems like it was a good idea. Would like to see some sort of monthly feature, but maybe the mods don't have the time?
