treborvdrummer 01-10-2006, 05:08 PM Anyone heard of any interfaces that will allow integration of Bluetooth Cell Phones to the Audio System in the Ridgeline?
I am presently shopping for the RTL Navi and Moonroof (Billet Silver).
Been reading the forum for a couple days now, look forward to leveraging all the good info once I have it in my driveway! :)

Good luck..let us know what you decide to do.
Truckin' 01-10-2006, 11:12 PM treborvdrummer, welcome to the ROC. There's a lot to digest here. Have fun poking around. I want my bluetooth phone to interact with the NAVI system to input some addresses into the address book. I don't see that happening.
IFLY Ridge 01-11-2006, 06:35 AM treborvdrummer, I agree. I would love to see Bluetooth in our trucks but I don't see it happening. I had this technology in my BMW and it requires installed microphone, an OBC that will accept the phone, etc., etc. We don't even have the trip computer so I don't see Bluetooth any time soon. It took BMW 5+ years to catch up to Bluetooth in production cars, don't know how long Honda will take or if it will ever get there. However, the Acura RL has Bluetooth. So, maybe some technology transfer could occur? Let's all hope so. In the interim, I just use my Bluetooth headset.
bonerfortuna 01-11-2006, 07:04 AM Hey IFLY , are you a member , or were you a member on Roadfly? What BMW model did you have ? Peter
Erock40 01-11-2006, 07:49 AM For you Treo lovers out there, here are some generic Bluetooth that will work w/ blutooth compatable devices, though some are Treo specific.

Peter, not to get sidetracked, I'm a member of Roadfly, and Bimmerforums. I have to say though, my BMW has takin a back seat (or should I say a bay in the garage) because my new obsession is the Ridgeline.
bonerfortuna 01-11-2006, 08:42 AM Hey Rich, my e39 is always under cover in the garage as well. Its funny how primitive it actually is , especially the NAV , compared to the Ridge. Im sure there are a few more RF ers on here .Regards
divotdog 01-11-2006, 08:52 AM google "bluetooth" and u will find a number of blue tooth resources. I'm having a Parrot unit installed next week. Small dash module, link to cell or any bluetooth accesory, voice command, totally hands free and plays thre the RL speaker system, automatic mute of stereo when in use. Parrot also makes a unit that has a gps interface. Lots of stuff out there and google is good starting place.
IFLY Ridge 01-13-2006, 05:50 PM Peter, I was a member of roadfly. Quit using the board due to all of the a$$holes on the board. Moved on to X5 world and then sold the X-5 (4.6) as I needed a truck. I have no regrets, man I love the Ridge! But, Honda could take some lessons from BMW about installing some creature comforts such as:
One touch up/down, open/close switches.
Bluetooth capability
6 way power seat for passenger (including tilt)
Power tilt/extend steering
Xenon headlights
Trip computer
But even without these additional features I still have no regrets about buying the Ridge.
cavdivr 01-15-2006, 06:37 AM I have installed several of the Motorola bluetooth car kits and found them to be an easy install and they work great. I don't believe the Ridgeline has a mute wire but you can interrupt the radio accessory wire with a relay. They are relatively inexpensive and the only problem I have encountered was a software incompatibility issue with a Trio phone.
Hope this helps,
Cavdivr

I just received the Motorola IHF1000 kit and want to install it this weekend.
I'm going to use the included speaker for now. What do you think would be th easiest (cleanest) source for switched power for the module?
I have two different kits from Parrot (www.driveblue.com) and love them both. The two models I have are the CK3100 and CK3000. (Wishing I had waited a few more months to get the 3200... Doh!) Either one of them comes fully equipped to hook into the factory speakers if you so desire.

You have me feening for the Parrot 3200. Is it an reasonable install, or will I have to pay to get it professionally done for sure?
Whiteliner 01-25-2006, 07:54 PM Honda doesn't need any lessons in bluetooth, they only need to give the Ridgeline what they provide in the Acura TL and RL. It's awesome!

eshuerger, I have only had my ridge for a month and have not had time to install anything yet, But I always make my connections at the ignition wires (white is for 12 volts always hot & black/yellow is your ignition)Good luck and don't let any smoke out!

Finished my IHF1000 voice recognition in car kit this weekend. (1-29-06) Worked out fine.
Tapped power and accessory power from the OE head unit harness using 3m t-taps and fully insulated male inserts. Provided ground from the OE radio chassis with a ring terminal. Checked to make sure all connections where good to go.
One thing...
The user button (UIM) was mounted just below the AC vent just to the right of the steering wheel. All looked cool, programmed in the needed phone number contacts.
Went to go to the local store store for supplies. As soon as I shifted into Drive. Damn, the column shifter blocked my view from the activation button. Bummer.... it still works fine, I just can't see it!!
Had to cut a hole in the dash bezel to mount it, so that's where it's going to be for awhile. Not a huge problem. Just wanted to let all know. Look before you leap. I totally spaced out on checking all vehicle functions before I cut. Remember, measure twice, cut once. Dang it.........
Works great. Recommend it to all. Very easy to use. Keeps the phone on the console instead of in my ear.
My next step will be to inegrate it into the Ridge audio system. It doesn't sound bad, but could be better. I'll keep you posted.

This is my first post here. I picked up my Ridgeline this afternoon. Very nice. I noticed you were going to have the Parrot unit installed. How did that work out? Much of a hassle? Does it work OK? Thanks.
