minihummer 01-12-2006, 10:33 AM Okay, I know there have posts with this already especially from the SEMA show, but can we all just start emailing these guys on producing one for our Ridge's...

I read that some of us already emailed them and the reply "we are working ont it" this was last year. I WANT THIS STEP :D And I know there are at least 10 other ROC members that would like this as well.

T Mac or LadyRidge can we set something up that informs these guys how serious we are about this step... Not sure what the correct procedure is but with over 2000 members we should have this available to us...
I don't even mind voluntering my baby as a test model...:D
Thank you...
Webwader 01-12-2006, 10:42 AM Have you shared this lust for the running boards with your sweet wife minihummer? :D

Hi minihummer, The manufacturing website for this product is from the originators of the bed extender. There site is www.amp-research.com and they cost about $1200.00 to $1400.00
Since they do not make this unit for the Ridgeline I was thinking of just getting the one that fits the best regarding the overall length and reverse engineer a set of mounting brackets to fit our trucks! What are your thoughts?
Ron (5S Dude)
minihummer 01-12-2006, 12:34 PM No webwader the better half has no idea yet ;) ...
Hey Ron, would it work? the reverse engineering?
Snapshot 01-12-2006, 07:26 PM I was think the same thing too, Ron. The length of the Running Board is about 70 inches so I was think that a Chevy Silverado Extended Cab, Tahoe or a Ford 150 Super Cab or a Dodge RAM 1500 is all about 70 inches.
Also was looking at the installation manuals for each of the PowerStep units to find a unit that is close to the Ridgeline underside design. Still hoping that Amp Research will release it soon.
ProHonda 01-12-2006, 07:51 PM I am sold, I HATE THE LOOK OF BOARDS

Hey thanks, I waxed that day... notice the pumps I was wearing....:o

I'm currently swamped with a new product intro. Has anyone emailed or called to see if in fact they have future plans if any for the Ridgeline? If they do not want to furnish us with a unit, as a last resort we can retrofit one of their existing units with a newly designed mounting bracket set. I really thought after seeing these units mounted on the "Motocross Action" Ridgeline that it would be a "slam dunk" but NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I will call Hourst as soon as I'm finished shipping this weeks door sills to my fellow members. :p
minihummer 01-13-2006, 02:24 PM I emailed and got the regular response, but have not responded to it. I will do that now and see what other response I receive from them...
Door Sills huh... I heard about these and seen pics, very nice...
bonerep 01-14-2006, 10:09 AM At least you got a response. They never answered my emails. When I first saw those running boards I wanted them bad. I would like to give them my money but since they won't take it I guess I'll have to find someone else.
ridged 01-14-2006, 05:44 PM What are your thoughts?
I'm interested in a set of retractables so if you plan to proceed with a retrofit kit, I will be bewy intewested. :)
bonerep 01-14-2006, 06:11 PM I'll tell you what, If you (5S Dude) want to do a retrofit I'll buy the boards now and you can experiment on my truck. How's that?

Amazing! I was just moments away from making the same offer. Thanks, bonerep, for stepping up to the plate. :)
bonerep 01-14-2006, 06:25 PM No problem, Besides I'm less than 2 hrs from Ron. It would be so easy.... Are you listening buddy???????

I was wondering who was gonna step up to the plate! Right On Rawli ! pm or email me for details on where my shop is located and we can do the dirty deed together! We have a Heliarc, Wire feed, Short arc, Spot and Gas welding ability as well as box & pan breaks, sheet metal shears, 50ton iron workers, milling, grinding & turning capability so if you don't got it we can make it! shop. It's where your billet door sills were made. BTW, don't you have the OEM running boards mounted? Maybe we can use the brackets that came with those boards!
We gotta hook up!
Ron (5S Dude)
bonerep 01-14-2006, 06:37 PM Okay.... Great let's make it happen. No I don't have running boards installed sorry.

Good morning Kam,
Don't ever feel left out! If Bonerep & I come up with a retrofit for the retracable running boards I'm sure we can ship them anywhere we ship billet door sills to. The AMP running boards are already around $1400.00 so if the cost to produce this bracket becomes too expensive, we will not gouge our fellow members. I promise you that!!:D
Ron (5S Dude)
minihummer 01-20-2006, 12:14 PM Sweet, you think we can talk to AMP for a group or bulk buy on these steps? We could save about 10 - 20% off their mark up...

5S Dude 01-20-2006, 03:27 PM haha.. that's a problem I wish I had!! =p
Yeah? Uh huh, Careful what ya wish for!!!!!!!:D :p :D
5S Dude 01-26-2006, 09:25 AM Wow, Absolutely zero response from AMP regarding the retractable door sills. I will contact the guys at Motocross Action and see if they can be of assistance. Stay tuned!:D
minihummer 01-26-2006, 11:14 AM Same here, AMP is doing really good business.... with having no one to reply messages....
bonerep 01-26-2006, 04:26 PM I talked to Pierre in the Sales dept and he said the steps were now in Honda's hands. He also said that they were made for OEM use only. Not an aftermarket item.... That being said there is a nice pic of it on their website on the Red Ridge..........
mayfielh 01-26-2006, 05:14 PM That being said there is a nice pic of it on their website on the Red Ridge..........
Where? I hit every link on Amps Page and couldn't find a RL anywhere.
bonerep 01-26-2006, 05:26 PM use this link. It's in the media center area.

I beginning to wonder why they won't sell us one like the red truck has!!!:D
bonerep 01-26-2006, 05:34 PM BTW I saw a copy of the install technique. It doesnt look that hard electricly speaking. As long as we know what wires fire the door light ( I assume ) all you do is tap those and hard wire the motors tto the battery. If you can give me the closest lenght that we need I think this can be done.
