Up close pic. I had to drive through the yard so the tires got a little dirty.

Very nice clean setup, Im thinking about those in black on my silver Ridge for summer. Can you tell us about the handling / stock tires vs falkens.

How's the fitment, finish, etc? They look really nice!

I was really torn on black or blue, but ended up with blue because i dont want black with tan interior.

Looks great!:)

Great look TCW! I think that's the only way to go with a black RL - chrome it up! :D

Very nice looking wheels. Thanks for posting the pics.

I also like the looks of that rear hitch bumper-step thingie. I have had my eye on something like that for a while.

O.k., times up.Inquiring minds want to know.

a)what brand wheels
b)what size wheels (including width)
c) what price
d) what tires
e) what price on tires.
I wasted at least 1.5 hours today at a local speed shop looking at pics of various wheels. Man, that alone can make ya go nuts! So many styles, sizes & brands! I figured I'd go with some nice chrome wheels , but not anything really expensive or overly "bling-bling". I THOUGHT I'd settled on 18 inch wheels, which I found a nice set. Problem is, that in order to keep as close to possible to stock tire height, I only found 2 tires in that size:( And these were $160 apiece. The guy at the speed shop told me I'd have a much larger selection of tires for a 20 inch rim. But that the tires could get close to $200 apiece.
So, I either get 20s, and possibly suffer in ride quality, or stick with stock size . I had no idea there were so many different choices.
Oh, yeah, what about rim width. What's stock? Would 8"-8.5" be to wide? I really appreciate any input.

What about questions c & e?

I can't answer on price because I don't know yet. I get a super-special deal because the owner of the shop is a close friend. For his regular customers he still has the best deals around central Oklahoma. His shop is always busy. Here's his website if you want to send him an email:

The ride quality is suprisingly good. Overall the ride firmed-up just a tinsy bit and at 67 mph on the speedo, I'm actually going 70 mph (checked with a handheld Garmin GPS), RPMs are just under 2K. I'll have to figure out a formula to check mileage, shouldn't be too hard.

Today I placed my order for rims & tires. I decided to go with 18 inchers. These have the same width as stock. The tires are going to be approx. 1/2 inch taller than stock (closest I could get to original height). 4 chrome alum. rims-----$820.Tires-------$153 apiece. Pics? Eventually.;)

That means you gotta post photos for us less fortunate! :D

I'm only "fortunate" enough to be able to purchase these now 'cause my big divorce buy-out check clears tomorrow. Nothing like a little bling to raise the spirits! If ya go to car-rims.com, and pull up Alloy Technologies AT 680 (in chrome), those are what the rims look like. The tires are Goodyear Wrangler HP size 255-60-18.

So I gotta ask...
When everyone else reads the title to this thread do they end up pronouncing 'tars' like you would pronounce 'tires' in the South? :) I just go back to a Southern Drawl every time I see it...

"Tars" came in today, rims tomorrow. Cool! Guess I'll have 'em mounted & ballanced and store 'em in the house 'till warm weather is here (about2 1/2 -3 months:( ) Just finished wiring up the trailer towing stuff. Gonna pull off the front bumper cover and install the factory "custom" grille and fog lights tomorrow. I also painted the fog lamp housings to match the color of the bumper. Haven't seen one yet that didn't have the charcoal plastic fog light covers. I also removed my air bag, disassembled the whole air bag / horn assembly (including the removal of the "H" insignia), got rid of the textured feel of the cover (all smooth now), filled in the little horn and the area that stated it was a supplemental restraint. Then I applied 3 coats of a catalyzed primer, sanded it, applied 3 base coats of steel blue (same exact color as the truck), and 3 coats of clear. Should be cured enough to reassemble tomorrow. May smell like paint in there for a while though:rolleyes:

WOOHOO,got my bling-bling wheels on the Ridge today! Only have about 4 miles on 'em. Still need to check the tire pressure in all of the new tires. Next up....grille & fog lights tomorrow. Pics soon. Life is good(for now!).

Awesome Steve, It sounds like you are having a blast with your new RL. The body painted fogs will blend nicely. There is a white RL that did this very thing on his. What type of custom grill did you order?

I just went with the Honda accessory grille. Guess it's not really a "custom" one after all:rolleyes: Installed the grille & fog lights today, ALL DAY! Geez what a long drawn out process! This relay, that switch, this harness, the other harness, etc.......They look great and work nice too. My polished alum side step (after market),carbon fibre interior kit, and auto dim rear view mirror go on next week. The 18 inch wheels look KILLER too! Rides like the 17inchers. Tires are a bit taller which helps to fill in the wheel opening. I'm looking to have one of the nicest and most unique base model Ridges in my area. Hey, a guy can dream!

Must have been nice there today to get all of that stuff done, yet we still have no pics of you mods.

O.k., here's the "deal".I'll take pics of my Ridge with my new, never used digital camera. But, it was my ex wife that used to send any digital pics to a club member (via "e" mail). That member would then post the pics and on occassion add some of their comments. Hell, I'm lucky to just be able to type 2 fingers at a time let alone post pics. So, I ask the assitance of a fellow RL owner that will take on the daunting task of allowing me to send my pics to them so they can post 'em here. That's assuming I can figure a way to actually "e" mail them! Believe me I'd love to see pics of my Ridge on this site too. Any takers out there wanna help a newbie bachlor and computer rookie?:o
