Navigation questions

With the potential for my becoming a Ridgeline owner increasing by the hour, I realized I'm not familiar with the Ridgeline/Odyssey/Acura RL generation of NAV systems. From reading the "nav hack" thread, I found that the Ridgeline's NAV system does not control the A/C, but I've not found answers to the following:

Can you control the stereo from the NAV system? (i.e. switch between presets, etc.)

Does the NAV system display all the details of the XM channel being listened to? (i.e., Song, Artist, Channel, etc.)

Does the NAV system show icons representing the BRAND of gas sold at a particular gas station that it recognizes as a POI? (My friend's TL does this and I thought it was cool -- the Chevron by my house was represented by a little Chevron icon).

If anyone could post screenshots of any or all of the above that would be great as well.

Thanks and hope to join you all as an owner soon!

You can control temperature via voice command :)

There are lots of voice commands to control the audio system too, but you will get stumped by the fact that XM and FM sound so much alike when you try to change stations by voice.

The display of title and track info requires you to switch to the audio display screen and the information is parsed. The size of font is so large that only the first three or four words appear. They could have easily made the font smaller and it would be plenty big for even my old eyes so that complete title/artist/album information could be displayed.

I think the NAVI system is awesome. It could be a lot better with the trip computer re-enabled and a few minor things tweaked.

Ladyridge you're unbelievably helpful! Thanks for taking the time to take all of those pics! Assuming the figures work out on the purchase, I'll be an owner very shortly. :D

You are quite welcome.
Good luck and I am looking forward to welcoming you as an official ROC head. :)

Absolutely amazing!!!

RAdams posts his question at 10:13 and get's his first set of answers in about a half an hour from The Ridgester.
In under an hour LadyRidge chimes in with a dozen or so photos of the complete set of Navi screens.
Truckin rounds out the questions with some personal views as well.

RAdams had a COMPLETE set of answers (I believe he did at least) in around 1 1/2 hours.

THAT, my friends, is a beauty of this forum and a testament to the helpfulness of the people on it!

You folks out there continue to amaze me with your helpfulness and attitudes.
Thank you!

RAdams, good luck with your purchase and I hope it comes through for you.
If it does, I hope to see you around here as an owner and you can see what
you'll be missing if you don't come back :)

I couldn't agree with you more! I lurked a long time before signing up and am constantly surprised by the helpful attitude and friendliness of everyone here... even towards noobies like myself.

If things work out, I promise pics ASAP. For what it's worth, I'm leaning heavily towards Billet Silver Metallic. My TL is silver and I'm not bored of the color yet.

I have a silver '01 TL at home as well. I got to tell you the Amazon Green looks really good next to it in the garage. Especially after I wash and wax both rides.

Not really, you just need to use the right wording. For XM, you say:

"XM (and then the command)"

For FM you say:

"Radio (and then the command)"

It is all in the Nav manual and works perfectly for me....

Also, what is not in the manual (as far as I can find), but was in another thread, is that you can go to Nav Screen or Audio Screen by just saying (not suprisingly) "Nav Screen" or "Audio Screen". THAT is very useful....
