Well here I go again. Lets get some pictures going of our pets.

Here are 2 of one of my cats named Vomer. His breed type is abyssinian.

Some people think he is a little strange but...well...what can I tell you? There is no accounting for taste when it comes to pets.

That has got to be the most adorable dog I have ever seen! Do you breed him or is he neutered? :D

I know Mr. Manxter's umm..er...canine?! will be a tough act to follow...but..well...here's "Chubbs". I know I put him on another thread but this is the thread he really belongs in and for those who missed him before.
He lives in our backyard and we caught him on film one day before his morning excercise and during breakfast. I suppose we would have gotten a better angle picture had we waited for him to complete his 100 sit-ups but...timing IS everything!!!

Well what do you know? It’s a small world. I just happen know “Chubbs” cousin...Vinnie from California. Truth be told he is part of the family and I could not leave him when I moved from New York to California. I showed him the picture of “Chubbs” and read your post to Vinnie to which he replied….

She likes to go. This is a picture of Belle in my Tundra. She now enjoys a fluffy bed on the rear floor in the ridgeline with the rear seat folded up. She now can put her head on the arm rest and demand attention. I will take a picture and post.

The buckskin is Rosy and the black and tan is Daisy. I didn't take the mules out front just to get a photo of them by the RL. Our ferrier came today to trim their hoofs.

When we picked up our truck the whole back end and bumper area was covered with little liquid pools. At first we thought it was from the rain that had fallen that morning, but then we touched it and it was oily. The dealer had the detail workers wipe it out twice because they didn't do a good job the first time.

After we got home we let our dogs out to see their new truck and I told them "load" when I opened the tailgate. Shimmer slid right into the back of the cab and Sparkle slid right behind her. I thought it was hysterical. Shimmer's not afraid to jump in, but Sparkle wants nothing to do with the truck bed. Lucky for them they are pampered pooches and have their own doggie deck in the back seat area.

Jesse loves the backseat compared to the Tundra!

Here are the girls in their more luxurious accommodations in the back seat. They are very content now that they are elevated a bit on their deck. Of course they don't get to ride with the window down. This was in the yard. They love to sit in the truck anticipating getting to go.

Lacie (on the left) is our 15 year old Yorki Poo and and weighs 2.5 pounds. I have had her since the second she was born and she is still going strong. She thinks she is a big dog because she lived with a Shepard all her life. Who's going to argue with an old lady?? Needless to say, she's the boss!!
Raven (on the right) is our 10 year old Poodle and weighs 5 pounds. We adopted her in January from a woman who had a stroke and could no longer care for her. They have become great friends.
Raven is the spitting image of Lacie's Mom who was killed when Lacie was 4.

The dog's name is Molly. She loves riding in my RL with the back seats folded up.

Everyone is a shelter rescue.

This is Jake the Dog. He is 100% pure hound dog and falls more than he walks right now.

Here's my Australian/German Sheperd - her name is Cubbie Bear (when she was a puppy she looked just like a bear cub, oh how they grow up). She is 2.5 years old and the sweetest thing around. She can sit up, shake hands (your preference, just let her know right or left or a high five), speaks (not barking mind you, she says I Love You), plays dead and crawls on her tummy. She is the talented pup. We have a cat too, named Ms. Kitty, but she doesn't pose for pictures. She thinks she is too good for that. LOL :)

I just got back from a 600 mile round trip and all I really needed to do was chisle the 1/2" of bug butt off of my windshield and I could have called it good but I washed her anyway. I'll tell you the extra 20 hp the Green has sure came in handy going over mountain passes at 85 mph. :D

What breed of dogs are those?

that's Merlin and Morgan. They're Pembroke Welsh Corgis. Morgan is female and smaller. she's only 6 months old and Merlin is 3 1/2. Morgan is blissfully unaware but she's going to get spayed on Monday.

Corgis are such darling dogs. We have several in our dog club, two are pups.

But seriously, we love our Tux. I could go on for HOURS about our "dog" trapped in a cats body. She has such a personality and soooo smart. (i certainly dont want to get the thread off on a whose animal is smartest thread, just sharing.)

I was coming home about a half an hour ago from taking Drew to football practice and the first two guys jumped out at me. I grabbed the camera which I always have with me and ready and "snapp". When I looked, I got three for the price of two. They were kind enough NOT to side swipe Ridgena. :)
Deer run wild and free in my town and basically are part of the community. The speed limit is 25 in most areas due to this. It a sight I never get tired of seeing.
( there is actually a sidewalk and street between me and the deer but I touched it up a bit to look more natural )

No pics yet, but are there any other Chinchilla owner's out there? Preferably the living variety. My girlfriend and I own 2. Their names are Smokey and Mrs. Sherman. I'll have some pics in the future.

Rok (The C is Silent) is on the left with his favorite toy...an alien. He is a 1 year old bordor collie/lab mix and Toby is a 2 year old lab mix. Both came from the shelter. We got Rok when he was only 7 weeks old and Toby we got just after he turned 2 years old. They love the RL but I have to drape it in towels and sheets to keep them from slobbering,scratching, and shedding all over the doors and floor :) .........What can I say I like to keep my RL clean!!!

OMG...he is sooooooooooooo cute!!

Yeah, Monty was a total lady killer back then. Now he's all grown up and turned into a possum killer (all the better since I am in a committed - yes play with that word all you want - relationship). He's still afraid of raccoons though, but then again, so am I. :)

H2OMan, does your computer allow you to email pics? Sometimes that allows you to resize them when nothing else seems to work. You could try that and if you're able to drag and drop or copy and paste, put it in a folder on your desktop. It's a couple of extra steps, but could be worth a try. I'd sure love to see you pet.

Awww, what a cute kitty! Our cats HATE vehicles. They stay inside 100% of the time. Except for the one time we attempted to do a harness/leash. Much hilarity did ensue :D Never again though!

One of my five cats, Amigo (so named for his friendly personality), loves his truck. He's especially happy to hang out if we are doing any projects on the truck.

Just wanted to put some pet photos here too. We have 3 cats. Jasmine we adopted from PetSmart, she was an animal rescue. Samantha we got because someone who had her didn't want her anymore (she got out and a friend of ours found her, told the lady and the b*tch said "I don't want her I got another cat". She shouldn't have pets, IMO). Lucky is our Halloween cat. I found him outside the hospital on Nov 1. He is all black and I called him Lucky because people do nasty things to black cats over halloween. Jasmine and Lucky are the all black cats and Samantha is black and white.

Natalie is our dog. She was adopted from the pound. SHe's part German Shepherd and part something else (greyhound we think). She's a cutie too :)

The horse is a 5 year old Percheron cross named Cal.

My black Lab, Nick, is 15 years old and camera shy. He just can't get into the truck at all unless lifted, his legs are so bad.

The yellow Lab is a papered purebred trained duck dog/pound rescue (dumped off at age 9!) who we adopted this spring, named Max.

Zulu is just a mut (6 years old), but the later I come home, the HAPPIER she is to see me. Oh yeah, and my wife, Cara.

Smokey the Keeshond. We got him from a Keeshond rescue guy in Birmingham and agreed to keep him until we could get him a permanent home. That was 8 years ago.

I love the dog pics -- I used to have a doggie, loved him very much (now he's with my ex).

What do you think of my new pet? (see my avatar) -- he's a veiled chameleon (also called a "true" chameleon). He's very cool -- his eyes are like little web cams that move independently of each other... he uses his tail like an extra limb, and he moves like a leaf! His tongue is sticky and shoots out of his mouth up to about 6" -- one time he accidentally chomped on my finger cuz he stuck his tongue to it (trying to get a cricket, yes, I hand-feed him) and before I could stop him he'd reeled me in and -- chomp!! Not as much fun as a dog, but he's still cool.

(Maybe I threw people off with the monkey avatar... that was just a cool pic I grabbed from yahoo news one day...)

This photo was taken during spring break Enrichment Week. The theme that day way Beach Day and Pet was about to head out onto the sand in her straw hat. I love working with these animals.

My oldest girl is much more obsessed with fishing than bird hunting, though she's a fine bird hunter. She can entertain herself endlessly watching our goldfish. She inspects even the smallest puddles of water because you never know, there might be fish in there. Both girls love every aspect of fishing trips, especially the eating part.

Sorry, I don't play the banjo, but I love banjo music.

Well I haven't brought Levi to the water with me fishing as yet since I haven't had him but coming on 5 months since I got him from a rescue. He was 15 months old when he was let go by his previous owners. I drove 2 1/2 hours to meet him after finding him in a network search and was one of seven folks trying to adopt him. When I got the call I had been chosen I was on a fishing trip in the Catskills with my Pilot.

Having retired in april after 30 years of service as a civilian working for the US Navy I set a goal of getting some fishing done while I was still young enough and healthy enough to do it and my wife agreed that I should so I made 2 trips to the Catskills and it was on the second trip I got the call about Levi. 2 weeks later he and I drove to Michigan for a Bamboo Rod Makers Gathering in Grayling (16 hours one way). We had a ball and less than 2 weeks later I was on a flight for a rod makers gathering in Sisters Oregon. did plenty of fishing during both as well.

My wife and I spent most of the summer bonding with Levi and doing things with him that were good for all of us. He's very interested in the outdoors and escpecially in birds. I am a bird hunter and while I didn't get him expressly for that I figured it would be a plus if he wanted to and he does.
Sadly he broke his foot on the Moday opener for pheasants last month and is just now getting back to walking without a cast, I'm not too sure who suffered more, he or I.

He a sweet dog with loads of personality and he's certainly a handful at times but he's raised the quality of our lives much. He'll be 2 in March so he still has some growing up to do and with the Pilot I always kenneled him while he rode but he's got his own bed area in the RL, the 60% seat is folded up and his Eddie Bauer dog beg fits exactly in the void, his towel and chew bone are there also and his first ride was Friday night when we picked it up, you'd have thought he'd died and went to dog heaven once he realized that was his area and no kennel. We'll have plenty of rides to get us through to spring.

Unlike your Weim, Levi is fearful of water and the best we've been able to do thus far is get him to walk in up to his belly, obviously something in his young life caused it so we're just working at eliminating the fear and hope someday he'll enjoy it. A great dog deserves a great truck and so far I got the best of both worlds. Cheers............

Thanks for the heartwarming rescue story about Levi. He's a lucky pup and you are blessed by his devotion for the rest of his life.

My girls are 9 and 3. Both are shy of water. Shimmer, the older girl, will now go after a stick or bumper, but only if it's within easy reach and hits no current. Sparkle has never actually gone deep enough to swim. She waits in the shallower part and when Shimmer swims back with something, she steals it from her. Since hubby only hunts pheasants, we don't care about their swimming. It's just for fun and to cool off in hot water.

These are my first Weims. I obviously like the breed well enough to get a second one. There are some peculiar things about the breed that makes them suitable only to those with the energy and devotion to them to meet their needs. My younger girl is very lucky to have landed in a family willing to get her through a drawn out puppyhood. She's been little Ms. Destructo on a few occassions. I adore both my girls.

When Grover, our last dog, was young (less than a year old) we took him out in the boat with the kids. We stopped at a beach and I took him wading in the water for the first time. He was very hesitant, but I gently kept coaxing him out deeper. He finally got to the point where he started to float, and he discovered that he could SWIM. It was quite a moment to see him make that discovery. He never looked back. From that point on, he was in the water every chance he got and getting him out was a major task. He started diving off the transom to swim with the boys, and loved diving from a dock. He was a truly happy dog when he was in the water.

It is such fun to watch a water loving dog play. Some dogs cannot get enough of it. It sounds like Grover was like that. I'm waiting for word that you've decided it's time to get another poochie in your life. They leave such a hole when they're gone.

I don't have any pets, but here are a couple of pics of the sweetest stray in our neighborhood. Sweet dog...hope somebody picks him up and takes care of him.

Good point! Maybe he did adopt us. Everyone in the neighborhood was already calling him Buddy, so we kept that for his name.

Wow! Seven! I'm impressed. We had five for several years and three of them were Danes, so that's almost seven. I'm cozy with my two girls now and don't think I'd ever do a pack again. We'd be forced to get a bigger truck. Boo, hiss on that idea!

We got two then my wife started working with a local rescue and we got two more. Two moved in with us when family came to live with us (both rescue dogs) then one day sitting on the front lawn was the dalmation- almost named him "seven" since we were running low on creative names.

Here's a short sequence of our bold cat, Amigo. He loves hanging out on top of or in the Ridgeline. When we set up our tent trailer, he's sure we're just giving him an outdoors house. He's quite a character.

We'd been working on the Ridge in the shade and hubby went out to move the truck back into the driveway. We knew Amigo was on the roof and I was prepared to holler if he jumped off. He didn't even try.

Here's a pic of my older, Shimmer girl that took me several tries to capture. It happens pretty fast. I call it corn candy.

We live next door to a farm family. We buy all our produce from the vegetable and fruit stand during the summer months. Once the corn comes on, we eat fresh corn on the cob everyday until the season is over.

The dogs love going out to do the chores with dad. It's the highlight of their day. When we have corn, he takes it out to shuck it. The mules get the outer leaves and stem. They also get the cobs after dinner. Sparkle likes the soft tip that doesn't have any kernels growing on it. Shimmer loves the corn candy. It's a wad of corn silk.

Cute picture, Truckin'. Both our dogs loved corn on the cob. I would hold the cob and they would eat down the rows just like we do. Our first dog, a Siberian/Australian Shepherd mix, could clean a cob better than any person I know.

We also just lost a 20yr cat (a true member of our family). We lost his 19yr old sister a little over a year ago. The newly adopted kitten gets us back to 3. All of our cats are indoor animals (too many bad things can happen to them outside). The kitten barely made a sound on the way home from the SPCA. He must have liked the ride of the Ridgeline:)

Yes, Smoky is a 11 year old (est) Kees that we agreed to foster 7 years ago.
He was a mess when we got him. With a little tender loving care he cleaned up nice and can look like a show dog when brushed. Joey our Manx (Stumpie) and Sasse our MaineCoonMixed are our two babies NOW. We have had 7 different Cats in 28 years of marriage. All that have past are buried in our back yard.:)

I couldn't count how many cats we've had in our almost thirty two years together. It's been a double digit number for ages. We had eleven cats at one time. That's way too many for our household. We're down to four.

We've owned Manx cats for a couple of decades. We bred our first Manx to a friend's polydactyl cat and had a line of tailless, many toed cats. I just lost the last one of that line. He had extra toes on every foot, but had a long tail.

We currently have two Manx cats, unrelated to any of our previous cats. We quit having kittens or puppies 16 years ago when our recently deceased cat was born. There are simply too many critters being destroyed in shelters. Even our purebred, registered animals are neutered as soon as we get them these days.

I'm quite smitten with Manx kitties and will probably have at least one as long as I'm able to have animals, which I hope is as long as I live.

Kellcut, two of our cats are black too. It's a shame that photos don't do justice to the differences. Ours are actually pretty easy to tell apart since one is a petite Manx and the other is a huge boy with a Roman nose.

I love your animals! Our cats will have NOTHING to do with our dog. I wish they got along better, but we had the cats for about 6-7 years before we got the dog.

Rick, that pile of puppies is simply precious. My Weim used to sleep on top of my German Wirehair and I called it double decker dogs. You've got triple. They are gorgeous.

Are the Ridges mother and pup? That dachshund couldn't be a better match.

Yes, I have a Ridgeline. That's why I'm here. :) It is a black one and we really, really like it.

The ridgebacks are not related - well, not very closely. The breeder went to South Africa to got his dogs and both of ours come from that line. The big one, a male, is a mutant. The breed standard for them is 70 to 90 pounds for males and he weighs about 140 right now. But, he's incredibly nice and gentle. Both dogs are very smart and terrific with kids. I couldn't recommend the breed more highly. Only downsides are that they can be a bit expensive and they're very stubborn.

The dachshund is a fiesty little thing. That collar you see on her is for a perimeter wire that keeps her in the yard. She likes to wonder and will dig under the fence so that's what we have to do.

I don't know what it is but we have had really good luck with having animals who get along well with each other. That is, except for two of the cats we have now. Their names are Thelma and Louise and they can't stand each other.

We used to have a really weird cat named Ewok. We named him that because when we got him as a kitten he had a very flat face and looked exactly like an ewok. He had the worst grooming habits of any cat I ever been around so every spring we would have shaved to get rid of the dread locks that he had grown. I caught him in mid-yawn with this shot :

2 Sphynx cats - when I met my Fiance' one of the first things we talked about was that we liked Sphynx. Not many people do. She has an Element and I have the RL, not exactly the most confirming vehicles. :D They are actually very cute in person, and unlike any other cats I have been around. They are like little people. The black one is Mogwai and the white one is Gizmo. Yup- from the gremlins - no surprise. Mogwai's great uncle is Mr. Bigglesworth from Austin Powers. The big one on the right is our Fillie. She is a 2-yo in training and should have her debut on Dec.18th at Charlestown - in a Maiden special weight. Also have an 11yo turtle (not pictured) :D

Oops, forgot to mention : The Fillie's name is "Salsa Music" - Just in case you want to keep your eye out for her :)

This is Rollie, my ex-brother-in-law on his Gold Wing with Smokey. Weird huh??
He fabricated the box on the back and decked it out for Smokey. Smokey goes everywhere he does when he is on his bike. Even in the rain. He loves it. I have been on a few bike runs with them both. ( Me on my own bike of course )

You should be able to look at your photo on your computer before you select it. Then in the uploading window you can see if it's been selected.

I put the photos I want to upload into a folder on my desktop named Ridgeline before I upload. That way it's easy to see only the photos I want to use for that post. After I upload, I delete the photos in that folder. The photos are still on my computer in the photo program. The pics in the folder are resized to fit the forum and only copies.

I hope that helped. If it didn't, post another question about where you're getting stuck.

Here's a picture of Natalie (our dog) with her huge rawhide bone. She got it and took it over to her little pillow and laid there licking it. It was funny!

In the picture with the bone, she looks so little. I had to put another one with me there so you could see, she's not a little pup!

She does look little with that huge bone! Merry Christmas is for dogs too. All our critters got their Christmas spoiling today.
The cats got special cat food. The dogs got their big cans of dog food and all the left over cat food. A bit later the can full of peanuts got spilled on the floor, so they got a bunch of peanuts.

We bought several kinds of apples, pears and some bananas for the mules. They had a big fruit salad with their hay. We gave our lone goose a bag of salad.

During lunch our dogs got some cheese. One cat was still meowing, he tends to be a pig, so he got some cheese too. Then our dogs got a rare treat of a rawhide bone. We don't usually let them have rawhide because of the choking hazard, but under supervision they are OK.

The cats got a new crawl tube and a carpeted cat treehouse. They are enjoying it especially the catnip I'm putting on it. I'd say we have a house and yard full of happy critters today.

It sure sounds like a bunch of happy animals! We keep our dog under supervision with the rawhide. She only gets that big bone for a short while each day, because she gets sick if she gets too much.

We had an extra Christmas guest today. My oldest son come over with his St. Bernard, Eddie, who is a real sweet dog.

How nice for you to have a big furry pup underfoot again. He looks like a sweet one.

Some people think he is a little strange but...well...what can I tell you? There is no accounting for taste when it comes to pets.

My wife and I are really into the Manx breed. They are so gentle and playful.
Chie was golden yellow/white, He was a rumpy with no tail bone at all. He died young (10) due to diabetes and kidney failure. His passing almost killed my wife, I didnot think she would get another, but we are both hooked real bad with Joey. It is very hard to find the Manx breed anywhere in La. lately.
Like you, we will probably have cats until we die. You dont own them, They own You. Happy New Year!

Manx, gentle? I like them for their sass and their being on the verge of undomesticated. We've had a couple that are very sweet and loving, but most of the Manx cats we've had are spunky and aloof. They are incredibly playful. If they have the characteristic of the high rear end, they really look like bunnies when they run around.

We obviously love them as we've had them continuously for more than a couple of decades. We've had ordinary mutt cats too and lots of polydactyls, some Manx, some with tails. I like the mitten cats too.

I've gone much more toward rescue animals than buying from breeders anymore, so I probably won't own any of the other breeds of cats I find attractive. That is unless they end up needed rescue at the time that I'm ready to add an animal to our menagerie.

kosmo i got him from the local animal control when he was like 6 weeks. smart little bugger.. i also have a red merle aussie named cricket but no digital pix of her :(

so, we used to have two English Bulldogs. Jake, our original, passed away a year ago from natural causes at the ripe old age of almost 13. He was awesome. Buford, our second Bull, is a great companion and is currently 9. He has also been amazing with our kids (we had both dogs prior to having the kids).

When Jake passed away, the boys lobbied for a more "active" dog (and I also wanted a dog that I could bird hunt with, I'll admit). So, we settled on German Shorthaired Pointers. Meet Cookie. She is a GSP and was born one year ago. She is all dog - active dog. SUPER active dog. HYPER active dog. Amazing to watch her run, jump, hunt, stalk, eat, eat, eat, eat, run, run, run, run, run. And she enjoys a good snuggle on the couch when allowed. And then she tears off after the cats (because I am convinced that she thinks all cats are inherently evil and therefore must be chased).

Cookie wears a wireless collar so that she doesn't leave our 7 acres - she is brilliant - became trained in less than ONE day. She knows exactly where she can go and how far she can go. She also knows when the battery in the collar is dead, and takes advantage of it!

I managed to get ONE good picture of both dogs in front of my truck. Whew!

Cuties. I am firmly in the sporting dog category, although I loved my Great Danes. Bird dogs are so intense and intelligent. I've never had a GSP, but I know several and they are quite similar to my Weimies.

What you describe about Cookie could fit my Sparkle, except she's three and still nuts.

Your Cookie doesn't look too happy being told to sit while you snapped that photo of the two of them.

Cookie was NOT happy to be sitting still - she wanted to come play with me and the camera!!! This was the only shot of her sitting - she went off and played with the boys right after I got the shot. Buford, loves to sit (and when he sits around the house, he sits AROUND the house!) and is very mellow.

Wow... that "Lacie" is so cute. Reminds me of my wife's former "Ruby," who passed away before we were married (but now "resides" in an urn in our foyer)....

This is kind of an update, we rescued a Pekingese from our local shelter. She's had a rough life, she had a pin in one leg and currently has a fractured pelvis. She is the sweetest little girl. Here's Mabel:)

Most of my dogs have been rescue. Raven is a rescue. She is pictured here. She had her voice box removed along with her brothers and sisters when they were born because the breeders neighbors called the cops on them all the time for noise. Very sad. She's a sweetheart too.
We love her dearly.

Same here I think Mabel had her vocal cords clipped thought I'm not sure. She's not very loud, but our Lhasa Apso makes up her not making too much noise. His bark actually bothers my bulldog and she's deaf:D

It's sad to hear that Raven no longer has a voice box but isn't it great how many other ways that dogs can express themselves?

No longer with me but I definitely carry them in my heart and my minds eye.

well, everyone's pet looks adorable and some are hillariously funny. I don't really have a pet, i did have a husky but it gets to hot where i live so she lives in cooler climates.. anyways here's a substitute pet.

These are our four Shelties we have... None have been in the RL yet, but I am sure they will be soon enough..:cool: They are camera hams! Great dogs and are part of the family!

Thank you for the nice compliments on the pooches. They are spoiled, believe me! They are a major part of the family. The family consists of four dogs, one cat, two guinea pigs, two gerbils, two children and one wife. My house is quite the zoo... :D

I do. I have a 30 gallon. I have the fish from the movie> Finding Nemo.
I dont have as many corals as you do but I have a few.
