Dear ROC member:
In honor of the year of the dog, if any of you are in the SF bay area and is interested in fostering or adopting, please PM me.
I am the South Bay coordinator. We take dogs about to be euthanized and foster them for permanent adoption. Weather permit, you can find me at the Saratoga Farmer's Market on Saturday and Mountain View Farmer's Market on Sunday.
This year, we also plan to start a Grateful Dog Tour in San Francisco. So tourists can experience a guided tour of SF with one of our rescued dogs.
We want to educate people that the smartest dogs are often the problem dogs which people send to the shelter to be killed. The reason is that the smart dogs are bored so they become destructive in the house. Properly matched or trained, they can work wonders so the problem is really that people are too ignorant about dogs' personalities.
I take my Ridgeline and promote dog adoption from the tailgate. Check out our website and see you there!
(Can anyone see how grateful the dog is in the photo?)
Webwader 01-30-2006, 04:34 PM That's great work that you do, Blue. We just got our puppy from a very caring foster mom and our other dogs have come from the county pound. They have all been beautiful, loving, very intelligent dogs. Thank you for your contribution to the dog world.
25 Year Honda Owner 01-30-2006, 04:39 PM Thanks for your efforts. Our Kees is a foster. Everyone should consider foster when looking for a pet.
BannedUser 01-30-2006, 04:42 PM Raven is a foster pet.
I also have had many from the Rescue Shelter. Great work Blue.
fishnbanjo 01-30-2006, 05:12 PM Good job, my Levi is a rescue and many of the dogs here in town have been rescued from efforts due to Hurricane Katrina. Best of luck.
SmokyMtnRidger 01-30-2006, 05:18 PM Awww, how sweet.
We adopted our kitty from a rescue thingy also. She is the cutest, sweetest, most wonderful thing that ever happened to us.
Great job and thanks for posting!
There is a special place in heaven for you :)
Erock40 01-31-2006, 08:11 AM That's awesome! We have a Pekegnese that we got from the recsue. I would adopt them all if I could.
kdogofjtown 01-31-2006, 10:29 AM We have seven dogs and two cats- all rescues. My wife worked for a rescue in Memphis and we ended up with the special needs animals- dalmation with seizures, lab with severe allergies, another lab with thyriod problems, etc. Can't imaging the vet bills, medication costs and price to feed them! They are just like family and I can't imaging what we would have done without them coming into our lives.

Yeah..that's my problem. I want to take them all home. :)
I am so glad so many of you adopt from the shelter instead of buying dog from the puppy mill. Here are some dog wisdom for the year of the dog.
I know some members of ROC likes to rant. Then there also are others who try to help to make things better. We need more workers instead of talkers(like my sister-in-law).
Ladyridge, I wanted you to know that my Ridgeline is doing wonders to help some lucky dogs!
