Has anyone seen the ads on EBAY for the OFFICIAL Velocity Tuner? Does anyone have one? Does anyone know anyone who has one? Does anyone know if it really works? Anything, good bad or ugly would be of help. The linke below takes you to a current ebay ad.

Much research on this and other products very similar.... many threads here at ROC and past groups I have been in say ....no workie:) I understand the ads look appealing....thats the scam... 10,000 people buy this dream never come true, and the company gets rich quick, goes bankrupt then disappear under a new name... Sorry seen it way to many times, even a guy a work with bought one like it...

Think for a minute. If a $15.95 part gave you 31 miles per gallon, don't you think Honda would put one on the truck?!

No - they'd offer it as an accessory and charge hundreds for it.

One has to ask the question, If Honda could get better performance and fuel economy, especially those whopping big numbers that are being claimed, by simply putting a 15 cent piece of tin in the air intake, don't you think that they would have already done it? Honda and every other automobile and truck manufacturer didn't overlook it. May as well throw NASCAR and every other class of racing in there too. It's not a conspiracy. The people peddling this stuff are not smarter than all those other folks. They just want you to send them some of your hard earned money. Now if you want a 1 - 2 punch, search eBay for fuel line magnets. They have similar magical claims of improved performance and fuel economy. Perhaps if the OFFICIAL velocity Tuner AND the Magic Fuel Line Magnets were installed on the same Ridgeline you would get twice the affect! You would, they would have twice as much of your money! I wonder if they are both being sold by the same brilliant people?
Don't buy into their nonsense. It's dishonest at best.

Snake oil, not that it doesnt pay to be open minded, but in this case too good to be true. Sept 2005 Popular Mechanics starting page 105 titled "looking for a miracle" does a pretty good evaluation of this and other devices.

Here's a good resource for this and other potential fuel saving techniques. In summary, the theory is good, the implementation is not.

This article gives a complete run down how they take your money. I'm guessing anything this good would have made it into Pres. Bush's State of the Union speach. But don't take my word for it, buy one and see for yourself, maybe two would be better, perhaps three would be exponentially better.....just like razor blades. ;)

Oh come on people, please don't tell me you guys fell for those gimics? Here's another point of view on those promises of better gas milage when you add this to your air intake. Lets say, if someone tells you, that you can have better sex by cutting your dick in half would you do it? its another way for people to play on people that doesn't know any better. And yes, if this thing supposed to give you better milage, i think honda enginee have thought of putting something in your RL's intake that would help it. Look at your RL's side mirrors, they put those slash marks (vortex enhancers) to create turbulance for better milage.

Right ON Ultra! It is sad to think that so many people get ripped off by these scams.

Car And Driver did a little test on some performance enhancers. They tested the Velocity part. They found it did very little or, in some cases, actually hurt performance.
Snake oil my friend, just snake oil.

There used to a similar product for carburetors years ago. Testing found that the spinning air created enough centrifugal force to seperate the fuel droplets from the air causing lean fuel conditions.

Also..since this part swirls the air, if you live below the equator you must install it backwards or you will get -31% and -16% horsepower..:D

Shame there isn't a product that could make the Ridge into something that it should be.

I've only owned for two weeks & I knew after the first 15 minutes I made a huge mistake.

I like performance and I purchased for comfort, darn shame this truck doesn't offer both.

This thing is similar to the turbo fan previously offered. It swirls the air entering the intake and is supposed to give a better fuel air mixture, and from what I have read and heard you might pick up an actual 1-2.5 mpg increase. Not 31%. I'd like to know what formula they use to get these MPG gains.
