An interesting article from The Ohio State University discussing how the brand of vehicle, how old it is, and what its fuel economy is all have an affect on how much of a polluter a vehicle is (and, how much it will be in later years/miles) - probably of particular interest to those of you who have to pass emissions tests.

With just normal maintainance, I have not had a vehicle fail an emmision test in over 20 years.

Did I read that wrong... the emissions tests were done in 2001 and Honda (and other) trucks were the least likely to fail emissions tests. ???

The study also found that the vehicles that polluted the most tended to be those that were older models, had higher mileage, poorer fuel economy, and were less-well-maintained.

Well no $hit!!! I sure hope my tax dollars did not pay for that study.
