Just got back from a little get away at the Lake Tahoe area. Was it nice and snowy! And the Ridge...WOW, it handled great in the snow! Had a nice comfortable 3 hour ride up, and a pleasant peaceful ride around the entire Lake, then did some exploring up in the mountains (a little hiking), and did a little ridge riding thru some snow, (VSA worked Great, kept us on track.) Didn't need to engage VTM, as we never got stuck.;) This was our first real trip with the ridge, and overall, the RL just gets a big thumbs up from us. Speaking of that on the way up we saw only one other RL. It happened to be on the freeway, it was a silver RTS. He looked at ours, then looked at us, and gave us a thumbs up. Now I've just got to clean that truck...boy did it get dirty!:D
thought I'd share just a few random pics:

kanji 02-20-2006, 12:03 AM awesome pics...good to hear that the RL was a comfortable ride up with no complaints.
IFLY Ridge 02-20-2006, 04:19 AM Great pictures! Glad to hear the Ridge worked well in the Sierra snows. I love the Tahoe area. Will be back in Tahoe in June to play some golf with some buddies at Edgewood.

great pics - thanks for sharing - makes me yearn even more for having snow here! We've basically had one decent snow fall here this winter. :(

It was definitely a fun comfortable ride! I've taken many trips with other vehicles I've owned, including an 04 Odyssey, and an 02 V6 accord, and have to say without a doubt, that the RL was much more enjoyable. And I loved those cars. a few more pics...

Nice pictures -- how was the traffic on the way up? Chain restrictions on 80? Or just 4WD?

Hardly any traffic going up at all, but traffic on the way back was another story! About a 4 and a half hour trip on the way back, but with the ridge, and sirius radio, it was easy goin'! ;) And no chains were required, just 4WD, and the snow fell lightly on and off all day. It was just beautiful, can't wait to go back! :D As for the Ridge, she's all clean again!

Thank you Jay, for all the great photos! This area is just awesome. If there was work there we would move in a New York minute.:D
2006Ridgeline 02-20-2006, 05:38 PM Those are great pics! Haven't been to Tahoe for about a hundred years, or so it seems! Thanks for the trip.
Vintner 02-22-2006, 07:40 PM Random question....but when it says chains, isn't that usually just for cars without 4wd, or at least no m/s tires? Would a RL ever be required to have chains?
UglyTruckling 02-23-2006, 12:32 AM Sometimes on I-80 they require 4wd AND chains, so yes, a RL would need chains -- although most people I know who drive on 80 in snowy conditions figure that if it's so bad they require 4wd AND chains, it's not a good idea to get out on the road in it.
RidgeOwner3 02-23-2006, 10:15 AM WOW Jay! Your truck looks awesome, both clean and dirty, I must say!! Looks like you polished it really well.
We'll be going up to Tahoe in one month. Can't wait! Your pictures are great and just getting me all excited about our trip. Thanks!
