Reminds me of a story. Stay off the trails on Fort Bragg (actually, I think it's a closed post now anyway)
When I was stationed there (got out in '96) a guy took his brand new white Ford Explorer out on the tank trails (a generic term for all the dirt trails on the post) and got stuck in some sand.
So, he walked to and tried to get a tow truck driver to get him out. The thing was - he either ignored or didn't see the "impact area" signs. He had driven into an area that is used for artillery practice and is subject to having explosive rounds still in the ground. No driver would venture in to get his trunk.

The artillery forward observers were using the truck as a target point for a long time, and insurance would not cover the truck under the circumstances. No recourse from the Govt either.

All I could think of was the guy having to pay off that truck all the while it's being bombed by artillery.

Sorry, we in NC do not know about a lot of trails,BUT, we do know about different areas. If you come into NC pick up a NC map, this gives you the current roads, etc...Now, look at the Blue Ridge Pkwy part of the map. You will find some of the nicess views ever... But, I for One, have never found anything that can tell you what you need to know. My wife, GOD BLESS HER,
is a person of possibilities, SHE'S FANTASTIC, and she will tell you to explolyer... Take the tour guide for a run through, and then, after you follow it, come back and explore!!!:p :D :rolleyes:

We've done the dragon several times and I think you would like it. Cross over to the Blue Ridge Parkway and enjoy the views.

US-129 between Robinsville, NC and Maryville, TN. Search "Deals Gap" for all the details. So many tight curves I have to take off my bifocals to keep from getting sick.
