I went in for an oil change today.I was talking to the service dept about my fuse box for the all door unlock and how some people cant get thiers warranted. They told me they werent really sure how to handle my case .so to keep me as a happy customer since I bought my RL from them ,they just warranted everything on it. So that might be why some of us are getting ours warranted by Honda. At least it is in my case.

I had mine warranted too, except the service dept. I use is not from the same dealership I bought from. I take my two (fairly new) Hondas there for regular servicing and they pretty much know me on a first name basis now! (they also know me as the RL fanatic!).
When I told my service tech about other problems RL owners are facing, he said that he called Honda about it. When he told them I had two new Hondas and a regular customer, he said they told him - 'no problem then' and take care of it.
It's all about the quality of the dealership/service you get. I don't wanna even think about the original dealership and question whether they would do it. I bought nearly 10 months ago and that makes me last year's news....sales guy probably isn't even there anymore!!
Glad to hear you got a good service department with good customer service reputation!

Too bad they don't treat the customers that bought from them the same way. Right Harry?

Web - You got that right.
They might be saying warranty but actually its a Good Faith replacement. The difference is that the dealerships get paid by Honda for doing warranty work they don't for good faith work. That's why most dealerships are not doing this work. $60 - $100 for a part that lists for $50 and $160 - $200+ for labor for a job that most of us have done in 2 - 3 hours on our own no instructions provided by Honda, but excellent instructions by the ROC.

Thanks for the info. I'll see what my local dealer says when I take her in for her first service service.

I've decided that they are just a bunch of Greedy (fill in your favorite demonstrative noun here).
Honestly I couldn't tell you. I was very polite from the beginning asking the question even providing the info on dealers that were covering it. The same guy that Mini worked with was suppose to hear back from the District Parts & Sales Manager 2 weeks ago. I have emailed the local Sales Manager several times asking for an update and he simply chooses not to reply. I hope to hear from him some day, one way or the other.

Sorry Harry, and I didn't even by from them! I think it started when I went in for the fog light lens and asked about the unlock module. I gave him a part # for new module and he looked it up and it was around $29. bucks, so I said great order one for me and I will pick it up or have you install it when you do the fog light repair. Everything was confirmed and I returned the following week (called previously to make sure the parts were there) fog light wasn't but the module was. I said fine, I'll pick up the module and do the install myself, got there, went to parts and it rang up $90. something   Oh heck no, get the service guy who placed the order. He came by confirmed the price and insisted that I provided the part # for the module not the other way around. I did not pick it up and I said hey please how can this be 29 last sat. and one week later 90. what's going on guys. he said let me look into it and i'll let you know, i then said that other dealers were doing these repairs under warranty so please check with your service manager and verfiy. I don't mind waiting...
Walla phone call came and everything's honky dory except for the paint crap now.... win some trying not to loose one....:)
