I went into the dealership today to talk to the service manager about the auto unlock for all the doors. I had (in hand) a copy of an invoice from another ROC member where it shows that Honda did the work under warranty. He had the document on his desk that he got only minutes before. I asked for a copy and thought I would post it here for everyone.
The service manager said they would take care of it for me and ordered the part today.
I will let you know if it changes.
If you want a full size copy just email me and I wil send it to you.

Looks impressive...
so after you have the new module then this should work right?
I just tried the different procedures with a 08/05 number 536068 off the line and same result..
although I did get to hear Queen's "fat bottomed girls":o

It does work with the new module.

mayfielh, I am sorry I wasn't questioning whether it would work with the new module, I meant that it is not a fix for those of us with the original module from the early builds. We still need the new module installed, and then this programming will work. We still are not able to program the old one differently to make it functional, is what I tried to ask.
thanks

Yeah, but it doesn't carry the phrase I want to see, which is 'If a customer requests the module be replaced, we will cover it under warranty'.
All the letter does is tell them that there are two modules that they might be dealing with (which, since collectively we know more about this truck than the techs do still puts them one step behind.)
I absolutely hate getting out of the truck with things in my hands, going to another door to get something out and having to set everything down to fish my keys out of my pocket becasue Honda screwed up and won't fix it.
Every single person I have had in my truck as a passenger tries to open the door when I put it in park...the way every other f'ing car in the world works!

I agree Scott.
I spoke with American Honda again yesterday at the 800 number and the guy was quite candid with me. Evidently the decision not to replace the module in our vehicles was NOT made at the corporate level but rather by the District Manager in our area. Unless Honda directs him to change his decision he evidently sees no reason to pay for this "accessory" (as he terms it) to be added to our vehicles.
Sounds like we are out of luck.

Scott, I was told yesterday by a Honda service rep that it would be coverel under warranty and by my dealer service manager that he was told there is going to be a TSB on it. Once the TSB is written it should be easy to get it covered under warranty by your dealer. It was a long time coming, but apparently they are finally doing it.

Please announce when the actual TSB does show up, and I will immediatly call my dealer, as I need my creeking wheel and wind noise both fixed again too.

I just got a call back from the salesman where I bought my RL. I had inquired yesterday about the door unlock issue. He's having the service manager at the dealership contact Honda directly on this and should be getting back to me today or tomorrow on where this is at. The dealership I'm working with is Ralph Schomp in Littleton, CO.
