Does anybody have a RL with a steering wheel that makes a cracking and popping sound? It is embarassing when people are in the truck with me. Any suggestions?

Search this site for Creeky Steering Wheel. You will find it is not uncommon.

I have it as well, less embarrassing than the woppie cushion steering wheel or brake pedel.

I mentioned the creeking on my last service visit, but it was not addressed. It has not been that high on my priority list. Per the latest posts under "creeky steering wheel" I see that there may be a TSB associated with this issue.

I have not seen the TSB.

Thanks. I'll be sure and do a search on that. My dealership said that they have never heard of such and issue. Oh well.?.?

For those willing to give this TSB a try at your dealership, here it is. Be forewarned that it does not always stay fixed based upon many reports from forum members who have gone through the procedure - although you may get lucky.

Upload was not happy first try. Needed to make smaller (annoying restriction).

:) TNRidge , I had the creeky steering appear after 4,000 miles . There is a tsb for it in the tsb forum area , I did the dbb tsb ( dbb is a member ) it entails wiggling your steering wheel at the 10 oclock/2 oclock and at the 4/8 position for a minute to 5 minutes, I tried it and it has yet to reappear since.:D . Good luck and perseverance .
