Ok...like I'm totally jealous that our ROC @ the ROCK meet was beat for the most number of Ridgelines so....I think we should get together and have a parade.
It's the annual Geauga County Maple Festival (http://www.maplefestival.com/home.html)April 20 - 23 and this year is the Bicentennial.
Here are my thoughts.

Meet on Saturday morning for the pancake breakfast that Chardon is famous for, visit for a while and then line up for the parade at 2:00 p.m.
What a chance to show off your beauty. ;)
After the parade, we can park our Ridgelines and enjoy the day walking the park eating cotton candy, corn dogs, sausage sandwiches, you know all that stuff that's so good for us. We can watch a few events on the square like axe throwing and log chopping and then put our kids on a few rides and enjoy a maple stir. And if you don't know what a maple stir is, you are in for a real treat. This is my home town and I can't think of a better way to bring in spring. I have missed 2 festivals out of 46. :)

So, anybody interested? I do have to know fairly quickly ( 4/7/6 ) as we have to reserve a spot in the parade. Look over the events schedule in the link above. The local hotel is giving discounts for those who want to spend the weekend. ( it's listed on the schedule )

So..what do you say? What a way to beat SoCal in their record breaking 19 Ridgelines by having 20 AND being in a parade. This town loves the car clubs.

Let me know!! :)

Just a peak at Saturday's schedule of events.

Ok...like I'm totally jealous that our ROC @ the ROCK meet was beat for the most number of Ridgelines so....

Well, like the first Sedona record meet of 8, and someone once put it best ...."records are made to be broken", so too shall the Ohio record fall. And I must say, impressively! But that record of 19 shall fall too, someday. Whether it will be April 1st in Sedona or July 27th in Ohio.....remains to be seen. I know one thing's for sure, the So Cal meet set a high mark. But then again, it is a populous area! So as our 'fleet' and membership grows, so will the attendance and frequency of the meets. I think there will be more meets but fewer attendees. That's my prediction. The exception will be the 'one' big annual event that gets set up.

So Ladyridge, maybe you will not get a big turnout for the parade, but at least you have the International meet in your back yard!

And if T-Mac comes up with a National Meet, I see that becoming the 'in place' to be in years to come.

For now, keep on meeting as often as we can! And don't forget to use the chat room until then!!! :D

Why didn't I see this one?

We will be there! RidgeRats, beautiful wife, and me!

Maple Stir - Yep - BTDT! I'm lucy enough to have a neighbor with a maple sugar shack! We make maple sugar at his place every year.

Beautiful Wife & I went up to Punderson State Park a year ago in February and played tourist (get your minds out of the gutter) in Chardon. Neat little town!

On the calendar. We'll probably drive up and do the day and then drive home on the same day.

Ladyridge,

I'm interested in coming to this event, if I can coordinate with the busy plans of my family. I'll be coming from the Philadelphia area, so it's a bit of a drive.

My wife is from Ohio and she has cousins who live near Mentor that we can visit as well. She has been to the Maple Festival and says it's a good time.

Do you know of any hotel/motels/B&Bs in the area that are nice and have reasonable rates?

COOL!!!
Yes..there are a few hotels in the area. I'll get a list together for you and post it later.
I grew up in Chardon and Mentor was one of our main hang outs especially the Great Lakes Mall.
WOW...this is so cool....:D

I just got off the phone with the parade committee and they have cut us off at 2 Ridgelines. :( The reason is because the parade is getting to long and last year the PT Cruisers said they had 4 vehicles and showed up with 20 uninvited. I am trying to work it out for the 3 of us who have already said they will be here which includes:
LadyRidge, Ridgeln and Fins
Now....
NKYRidge and Coastie. If you could let me know asap what your plans are, I could try to do some creative maneuvers here to fit the five of us in. I have another parade unit that I am involved with and that would squeeze us in but I need to know if you are coming.

If we can't do the parade, you still need to come so we can enjoy each others company and eat pancakes and real out of the tree maple syrup. :D

Let me know. :)

Bumping this to the top. We have more interest!!! :D

We can meet at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning for breakfast at a designated location ( most likely Chardon Giant Eagle on the hill ) and begin our day from there.

Can I get a list of people who are committed to this meet please?
Just reply here if you are coming?

Ok...this is beginning to reek of a conspiracy! I couldn't attend the first OHIO meet & greet because I was out of town, and now this one is scheduled at the same time as my spring break trip to California.

How about another one this Summer?

I really hate to say this....but I am bailing out.:( I am sorry JC, but I am in a house buying process that is consuming my very short weekends. I just got word I will be assigned to a Florida project toward the end of the month.

Sorry, between these two things, I just can't make this commitment.:( We still need to hook up for lunch when I get back to Ohio though.:)
