5S Dude 03-26-2006, 08:33 PM Lgmendez & I meet out at the El Mirage dry lake off-road park for a “Day in the Dirt.” It was an awesome sunny day with perfect weather and great camaraderie. This is but one of the many advantages of being a member of this great club! Life long friends that you can share your favorite hobbies with!

Photo#1; As you can see from the staging area photo, real ROC-Heads share parking with many “off-brand” trucks.
Photo#2 & 3; You can not imagine how steep and rocky this hill was! Luis had to be very careful with both his buddies here.
Photo#4; My daughter even let Luis ride her new bike!
and the last one of all of us taking a break.
Thanks Luis, for an Absolutely Awesome day!

Way more fun when you can share with your fellow ROC-Heads J.C.
Daryl, You guys are more than welcome to join in the fun as are anyone of the many SoCal ROC-Heads that ride. Believe me it makes you feel young again!:p
gadgetz 03-26-2006, 09:19 PM Thanks Ron! That hill looks a tad bit more advance...for my riding skills.:o

Not an issue Daryl! After my “agrow” hill climbing ride and getting more than a few rock showers from Luis and his 750hp fire belching 450CC quad. (read, many large sharp spinning rocks coming towards you at about a 350mph) I spent the rest of the afternoon cruzin around in 1st & 2nd gear down on the flat land with my daughter. (read, very peaceful) As you can see in the photo, the white area is the lake bed. (14miles long and 7 miles wide.) This dry lake bed is as smooth as your dining room table and May 7th the “Bonneville land speed cars show up and do shake down runs getting ready for speed week. A must see!! Our son will be competing in the stock class with his new Civic Si and we are hoping for a buck fifty. :p
gadgetz 03-26-2006, 09:49 PM Okay, that's more my style...Since I like the utility type quads...Lydia on the other hand is a 2 wheeling wild women.:D

Are there any off-road parks in San Diego where you can free ride or do you have to go south of the border into Mexico?

This was a most excellent day and the start of the El Mirage Riders Club, extension of the ROC. haha.
We had a blast and can't wait to go back, although Carlos needs to fix that clutch on the blaster.
Pablo will know be showing up with a chain permanently strapped to the bike for his keys!!! Can you believe he actually found them!!! Praise the Lord!!!!
As for me, I love going out there and the experience is even better with good friends to share your hobby. The Honda 450R adds to that a little also. haha.
Anyway, I will post the couple of pics I took tonight. We have to plan the next outing soon.
I would have never imagined that because of the vehicle I bought, it would have turned into this. What a deal!!!
Talk to you soon,
Luis

I know what you mean. Sometimes I see pics of me where I look just like my dad. Your as young as you feel!!!
I only hope the older I get, the more I'll love to ride!!!
5S Dude 03-31-2006, 09:26 PM Hey Luis,
I won’t be able to ride this Sunday as usual because my brother yanked the engine out of his bike and is going for the “Big Bore” kit. So I decided it’s time for me to do the same. (Just can’t let him be faster than me!) I’m getting the kit for my bike plus the heavy duty clutch springs, billet exhaust system, larger carb kit with the new intake and lighten flywheel so I’ll be ready to throw some rocks of my own next time we hook up! These two play bikes are gonna end up being race bikes just like in the past, I just know it!!
I hope you get your Nerf Bars & safety nets this weekend! Cause we’ll be ready to ROC again real soon!
Ridin buddies for life!
Ron (5S Dude)

That the Westin bull bar in black with the stainless steel plate. There is another thread under Burtmann Industries with closer pics. It runs $299.00 from him. Install not too bad.

Thanks .. that's not bad at all. You've helped me change my mind. I'm going to get that installed before I buy my running boards.
