Why does the FM work better then AM as far as reception? The Am reception is week, but my FM reception is great. I like listening to my talk shows but half the time I have to turn on FM. Why is that? Never had a problem with AM reception before and that was in my PT Cruiser. But the reception in the Ridge is poor.

I bet it has something to do with the hidden antenna. AM broadcasts are at a low frequency and require long antennas. I don't know where they hid this one, but I'd bet there was some compromise when hiding it and it was probably the AM reception

The hidden Ant has a lot to do with it, being that: AM signals are sent in a sorta like straight line fashion where as the FM frequencies are sent in a Wavey like fashion. Hence why we get FM better then AM, but in the hills or mountains, the AM signals are reached in far better quality. but, yes, it has a lot to do with the Non-existint ant, being it is in the windows edges or somewhere, not a long metal thing whipping around outside of the car.

Wavey like fashion... Is that a technical term?:p
