I saw the Honda Fit in the showroom a few days ago. If you can not tell from the photos, it looks as if Honda stole the design from the Suzuki Aero.

I can't believe that Honda named one of the trims "Fit Sport" Sport? say it ain't so! To upgrade to the "Fit Sport" trim, you get the same 109hp engine, add foglights, cruise control, alloy wheels, body kit and a spoiler. You may feel sporty, but you aren't :)

One of the photos on the site has a caption "Ultra new! Street legal!" and "Speedy Demon … Whoosh!" Good thing they told me.

One thing that would be worthy to the RL if they brought Fit's "Vivid Blue Pearl" or the "lunar Mist Metallic" colors to the RL. Now your talking.

.... ok, you poke fun at what you love... Honda, not the Fit. :)

The Fit's going to be a hit, I think. The young crowd who like lower-priced cars so they can do mods and add-ons will gobble this one up. Known in the UK as the "Jazz", the Fit already has quite a following. That being said, only time will tell how the U.S. market accepts it.

For mods and add-ons, isn't that what most young people do with their civics with a heck of a lot more hp than 109. I guess the Fit will compete with the Scions. There must be a market for this sort of thing.

If I had 15k to spend, I'd get a Civic over a Fit. If I had 20k, I'd get a Civic Si, if I had 26.5k, I'd get the Ridgeline... oh. :D

Larry checked one out carefully at the NY Auto Show and said he really liked it a lot. We tried to sit in the one at Detroit in January but it was locked because most of the parts were the only ones that Honda had... was still too new over here and they couldn't risk anyone swiping anything out of it. :)

I test drove the fit sport 5speed auto with paddle shifter. The design of the fit reminds me of my old 1992 honda civic, when honda started moving to more fluid designs rather than a boxy old style civics of late 80's. The room inside the fit looks similar and compared to the 92 honda civic, but the the wheel base seems stretch to make room for a full size rear door. Also, the power plant of the fit reminds me of the VTEC-E engine and mixture of power from the old CRX-si engine. Outside comparison to the 92 civic looks striking resemblence in exception to the rear hatch, it doesn't seperate from the glass and lower door, but a one piece rear hatch. Also, like how taking off the front head rest and laying it back to bring the rear seat and make out a long sleeper type couch when driving for long trips or just relaxing somewhere. It has all the basics, air, am/fm/cd/aux/mp3 hookups for the radio and a 6speaker radio. Tweater is set high on the door not near the front wind shield. Intruments looks honda pleasing with tach, speedo, heat dial and fuel dial. Overall, i think its going to be good. The power of the old CRX-Si and the gas milage of the old 92 Civic HX..great combination. Also, like the rear seat that folds flat, so you don't have to take out the seat to make more room, similar to the Odysee's rear bench that folds flat. My 2cent:)

As gas prices creep up so will the sales of this car.

The Fit has been out for 5 years, so you can pretty much rule out Honda copying the Suzuki Oreo, err, I mean Areo. The Fit is sold globaly under both the Fit and the Jazz, depending on location. I saw one a few years ago in Costa Rica, and it is truly an amazing vehicle for what it is. My only complaint is that it took Honda 5 years to bring it to the US.

As far as the seats that convert to "refresh mode", the CR-V has done this since it was introduced in 1998.

As already been mentioned, the Fits been around for a while, we are just not getting it, but it is FAR more likely that Suzuki copied the Fit. What's really amazing about this car is that it's been around for nearly 5 years, yet it is still beating out the BRAND NEW designs in current reviews/tests.

The Fit is a very light car, 2500lbs (relative to today's standards)... sure it doesn't have a lot of power, but being sporty doesn't require that you have a lot of power. Look at the miata.

If you read some of the reviews out, this car will be a huge hit. It's a huge hit globally... there's no reason to think it won't be.

Looks like the wheels are turning for the FitOwnersClub.com - you may have to come up with a different acronym (FOC?).

Made in Japan!!

I think the S2000 is the only other Honda made in Japan.

I'm trying to convince the wife to turf the 2002 Mazda MPV we have and get the Fit.

I'd like to see pics and hear what you think about your Fit. I'll admit I've imagined owning a Fit to go with my Ridgeline so I could have the biggest and smallest Hondas, too. With that said -- I think you know what the first pic should be! :D
