CHAT ROOM HERE ON THE "ROC"?

Can that be done? Some of US have become great buddies and I know I can never have too many buddies. Can this happen Tom?

Is a chat room not possible here? I don't know the technology side of these sites but it would sure be nice if we could all chat. Many of us have been on here for several months and have built some camaraderie. Just a suggestion. Can someone reply with a yes it can happen or, no it can't, just sit there be quiet J.C.? Any help would be appreciated!! :D

you aren't off of your rocker...................i haven't seen a link to post live chat. guess we would need to reply and recheck messages each time.

It comes down to how this site is hosted, and how it is financed. If Tmac is paying for bandwidth on this site, then adding chat could get expensive.

I wish while I had this site open during the day that I would be notified of a reply to a post. But I really should be working before I have to call all of you and say "Please sir, can you spare a dime?"

agreed about the reply notification...........good idea............lots of us are on according to the little "green light" next to some of the members names..

I just decided not to log out...I think it's all in a cookie on my machine but I find it more convenient this way. So I might look like I'm here but I really am not.

While my wife has chatted and still does with several of her on-line friends, I never have. Guess I just don't have a lot to say. Anyway, if it was here, I'd give it a go. :)

an cheap way to do it is set up a irc chat on here, now that would work. I know of other sites that do that and it dose not have to be a very fast computer to do it either.

IRC has wicked security problems. I'd never allow it on a server I was responsible for.

Chat is something I can look into adding if enough people really want it.

As for the reply notifications, you can subscribe to a thread. Or, just use the "New Posts" link up top which is what I do. It makes it a breeze to pop in and quickly scan which topics are new or have been added to.

Special thanks to everyone for making the ROC such a great site. Please help us grow by spreading word to others.
