Dear Honda, I love my Ridgeline but I have a question...I recently purchased my Ridgeline April 3 2006 and was not offered the $1000.00 incentive at all. I did mention and even showed the sales representative that Honda was offering the incentive. He stated to me under no certain terms that it was only for dealers who sold a certain amount of vehicles and that Honda would pay them $1,000 and it wasn't for use by customers. Is this true?

Auto manufacturers are not permitted to offer certain dealers incentives based on sales. The manufactuer can offer regional incentives or rebates, but all dealers in the region pay the same amount.
The $1000 dealer incentive was nationwide to all Honda dealers. The incentive has been increased to $1500 as of May 1.
This was a dealer incentive not a rebate. The dealer is not under any obligation to pass on the savings to the customer. In your case the dealer decided that the $1000 was better served in his pocket than yours.

I agree with what csimo said. You should have at least gotten kissed first....because you got screwed....outta a $1000 savings on your new Ridgeline.
That's a bunch of crap. But, even though they are Honda dealerships, they are still car dealerships and car salesmen/saleswomen work there. Car sales people would sell their mother if they thought they could make a buck. I almost let my yearning for a new RL blind me on my trade in value. I almost took what they were going to offer, but stood my ground and I ended up getting what I wanted for it.
Anyway, mycruzr, you live and learn. I guess you've learned never to go back to that dealership again.

Out of curiosity, what model Ridgeline did you get and what did you pay for it. Although I doubt it, it is possible that the dealer priced the $1,000 incentive into what you paid.
