I too await the bio-diesel RTL's. I also asked the same question with no response....anyone with a guesstimate?

I can't answer the milage question, but I read recently in the local paper Bio-Diesel is now about 10cents LESS per gallon than #2. So, I don't think the price of the fuel is an issue.

I would love to see further development of both BioDiesel and Ethanol as a way for us to thumb our noses at OPEC.

I've seen where you can buy the equipment and produce your own w/ used cooking oil for about $1/gal. That's not counting the equipment, I didn't look too much further into as I didn't end up getting a diesel. I saw it on Trucks! on SpikeTV.

$.07 /gallon below diesel today. 30mpg should be attainable and monster torque to boot. Make mine nimbus please:D

Love the way Biodiesel smells. After a long day of sailing if a boat goes by burning that stuff you think of super sizing your meal. I smells just like McDonalds french fries (Eastern Canadian deep fried potatoes).

McDonalds fries probably have a higher oil content though.

Does anyone know if Honda currently has a diesel engine in their portfolio
that would make a good fit with the needs of the Ridgeline? I would be
interested to see what is available.

Something along the lines of the turbodiesel engine in the Mercedes E320 CDI
would probably suit the Ridgeline just fine.

3.2 Liters...201 HP@4200 RPM...and 369 lb/ft torque@1800-2600 RPM.

Honda is designing a Honda Engine Diesel, it will probably be selling in Japan or European countries. Someone had a link and brought it up from previous post. to what i saw from the link; V6 Diesel VTEC, very quiet, Very Low sulfer Emission, and can't even tell if the engine is diesel or gasoline until you fill it up.

I found the thread on this board and also a short article mentioning that Honda has a 6 cylinder turbodiesel in the works. That's good news.

I can even tell you when it will be available here: One year after my current car quits and I have to replace it with a gas engine Ridgeline before the turbodiesel is available.. ;)

With GM, Ford and Dodge charging about $5000 extra for a diesel engine, I wonder how much more Honda is going to charge.

Accords and Civics have been available in diesel versions for a while in Europe. (Learned that on Top Gear. Anyone watch it?)

I want the Honda Turbodiesel with a 5 or six speed manual transmission, please. And make it loud - good rumble and I want to hear the turbo whine! Don't mess it up and make it sound like the VWs over here. I'd prefer to smell it and be able to smoke tailgaters like I could with my Dodges, but I know that's not likely to happen with our efficient Hondas. I'll just be happy with the torque, thank you.
