Big Honda & More Meet - Pittsburgh - [6.25.06]

Announcing a Meet for all Ridgeline Owners - Sunday, June 25, 2006 - Pittsburgh

You are invited to participate in a charity car meet sponsored by the Honda S2000 Club in Pittsburgh. Also participating will be the Ridgeline Owners Club (national), the Element Owners Club (national), the local Miata, Corvette and classic car clubs for Pittsburgh. Other surprise collector vehicles are scheduled to show.

The meet is Sunday, June 25th, 2006. It will be held in the Monroeville Mall parking lot, by Kaufman's, a recently closed anchor for the mall. There will easily be room for 250 cars and everybody will get enough room to open their doors without hitting other cars.

The event is from 11 AM to 5 PM, Sunday, June 25th. Registration will start at 10 AM.

Registration is $10 will all proceeds going to the Make A Wish Foundation (http://www.wish.org/).

There will also be a charity auction of merchandise donated by local merchants. One of the items will be an Alpine CDA-9856 with their iPodFullSpeed adapter cable, retail value of $260.

We are hoping for a good turn out of Ridgeline owners wanting to show off their vehicles. Maybe you can also pick up a trick or two to incorporate into your truck. We need a lot of Ridgelines to show up. With all of those S2000's there, somebody has to be able to haul the big stuff when needed!

No one has yet has placed this event on the Calender...what happened? I'm still coming though.

Monroeville Mall!, no way My exwifes grandparents live at the top of the hill overlooking it. I would end up running into her, figuretively of course.

I'm in! I plan to be there and will try to get a few other local ( I'm 150 miles away) Ridgeline owners to come. SJMiska, how about it? It sounds like a great time.
My wife has wanted an S2000 ever since she first saw one so this could be a very expensive trip for me!:eek: I have a new job that involves a lot of regional travel by car or truck. Hmmmmmm...........:rolleyes:

Is there a link to the event or the Pisttsburgh S2000 club?

I'm scheduled to work daylight that Sunday... the day before my scheduled vacation. :(
But it's undecided whether or not we'll be working 7days/wk by then. :)

I PM'd outpost4 over a week ago for further info, but haven't got a reply as yet. It's been a month since the original post... :confused:

I emailed Louis just today, asking if there were any additional events and activities added to the itinerary.

If/when I get a reply, I'll post anything pertinent.

Hope I get the day off and get a chance to meet summa yunz guys (and "chicks"). :D

Hopefully, interest will increase soon... "Make a Wish" seems like a worthy cause... and I'd really like to check-out the S2000's! Work schedule is still "up-in-the-air", however. :mad:

I am still planning to be there. How about a head count and a place to gather? I don't necessarily plan to enter or try to show the Ridgeline but it depends on time and timing.

Is the Meet/Greet for Pittsburg still on? I was wondering due to the weather we are suppose to get for Maryland. If the Meet/Greet is still on, they of course I will be coming but if the weather will be a big factor, please let me know. Thanks

I'm sorry for the lack of communication. I was travelling and then real life business took over. Do you want to see what I do for a living? How about installing a home theater system and 6 zone distributed audio system on a 60' house boat. The 50" TV rises up out of the deck. Here is a thread (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24941) on it over on the EOC. I just finished up the job.

Pittsburgh, hmm. That's about a 7 hr drive for me. I'm about 20 miles north of Philly. 14 hour total drive time all in one day. It's all turnpike, but still, that's a lot of driving. Wife will never sit that long. Pittsburgh, hmm.

If you do have a beater winter driver, though, and it needs a new radio, this would be a good one and all proceeds will go to the Make A Wish Foundation.

I'm leaving La Crosse, Wisconsin, within an hour or two. It's a 13 hour drive. Make that 14 with the time change. :) I've spent all morning re-loading XP into my laptop and then putting back in the software. What a pain! As my computer friend who just switched to Mac says, "What do you want, to use a computer or be a systems administrator?" For my work I need a serial adapter and I have to get down to the level of re-assigning the Com ports. How bogus a design is this? It's time for Bill Gates to retire. :D Now watch, whatever motel I stay at won't have Internet access. :rolleyes:

Folks, I'm bailing on this trip. I started getting a headache this morning when I was re-formatting my computer. It's now built into a full blown migraine. I've spent the afternoon on the couch, trying to see if a nap and relaxation would make it go away. It hasn't. I'm not going to drive 12 hours with a migraine. My eyes are killing me.

Just cleaned the innerds of the RL, polished her shoes and will take her for a quick shower in the am then we will be leaving between 10 and 11-- looks like a 2 to 3 hr ride. Looking forward to meeting people!!!
