Dallas, Texas Area Meet Anyone???

What do y'all think about getting Meet going here in the Dallas, Texas area?

I am totally out of my relm when attempting to organize an event like this:o Is there anyone out there in the DFW are that is willing and able to get the party put together?

One of our members in Plano has a lake home near Tyler. He has offered to host a cookout for Texas ROC members. We of course need to find out how many would come and make alternate arrangements if the group gets so big that he would not have room. I live in a golf community not too far from him. I could get folks who wanted to play golf on our course for only $35, incuding cart and that ain't bad for a private club.

He and I have exchanged emails about this and we agree we need to do something before the weather really gets hot. Maybe a June meet would work and there are a lot of things we could plan. But, as I said, we need to have people chime in here as to their interest in at least a cookout get together at the lake house. If we have enough we'll do that at least and then worry about extra plans and activities. It is a start anyway.

So, all you Texans, would you be interested in such a meet and would you agree to a date in June (probably a Saturday unless you all are retired!!)? If not here, is there anyone interested in hosting a meet somewhere!

Hey y'all, any statue on the original post Dallas Ridge Owners get together? If there is a group I would love to chat and look into add on options and accessories. I purchased Dec 30, 06 at Rusty Wallace, in Garland. To date have had two snow storms (more like ice), and it handles great. The jury is still out on the mpg, and I know it will most likely never see Black Bear Pass in Colorado, but getting there will be much more comfortable then in a CJ.

How about a sort of maintenance meetup on a weekend in February? Is there a really good car wash/detailer with a decent (and not too expensive) restaurant to be found somewhere in the Dallas area, preferably near the tollway or 635?

how about Preston and I think, Spring Creek. (maybe Preston and Plano Pkwy.)......a good car wash and several good resturants in the area. A weekend in February sounds good to me.

I'm in Fort Worth and just found this forum today...Yeah! And here I thought that I was the only one with a squeaky steering wheel, doors that won't unlock and wind noise.

I'd be interested in the detailing get-together. I've had my Ridgeline for 1.5 yrs now and even though it's had more than it's share of washings...it's way overdue for some good ol' detailing.

In the time that I've owned my Ridgeline, I am surprised at how few I have seen on the roads here in the DFW area. In my travels, I've seem a lot more of them in other areas of the U.S. Needless to say, I get kind of excited when I do see another local fellow Ridgeline owner so if you've been honked at, or waved to, by a middle-aged blonde in a red Ridgeline...it was probably me. :D

Hopefully the call listens better than my husband does when nature wakes him up. :o My nature is on a whole different timeframe.

Anyway, back to trucks...I would like to meet up with you locals and see what all you've done to sass your trucks up. Mine is still stock with nothing added and I think it might be time to put a little bling on. :cool: A silver Ridgeline passed me last weekend with some really nice wheels...I couldn't help but lust!

Get to take the Ridges out on a 1.5 mile high banked Nascar Oval.
Cost is 30$ per viehicle for 3 laps. Also can get pictures in Victory Lane.

They have not opened registration yet but normal have one time for clubs to run and onefor general public.

TMC sounds fun. Do they limit you on how fast you can drive the course? (other than the RL's built in governor at 112 I think?)

I would suggest that if you do see a good response and the registration details support this activity; I would open a second thread with a poll requesting if members are interested. If they are go for it!

That would be a ball! I'm all for it!! While you guys run your RLs around that track at a 100mph (mine has never seen 80mph and never will) I will be watching you all from behind the fence, sitting on a chair in the back of my Ridge and drinking a cold one (several in fact).

I would be topped out... easily 100+ mph! plus have a camera mounted in the truck to capture it all. Do they provide a helmet, like if I crash at that speed, a helmet is going to help that much?!?!

Seeing how I am now pretty much an expert at ATVs, how about you bringing it down from the camp and I'll race everyone in it at our track meet? I know I can hit 80 in that sucker!!!

Monsters! You've created monsters!! I'm thinking of getting an ATV for the golf course instead of my Club Car but I don't think they will allow it. I'll have to check. BTW, my flash light did not work the other night and I threw it to the ground in disgust because it worked perfectly until then. Guess what? That's the trick! It came right on when it hit the carpet and I've had no trouble since. If you (or Mike) have any more trouble try smashing it on something and that will fix it for sure.

LMAO, I'm thinking that you need a big ATV in camo with your gun mounted on the front and your golf clubs on the rear. You'll never have to worry about someone not letting you "play through" and "birdies" may take on a whole new meaning. :eek:

What's the update on registration? It would have been awesome to take advantage of the holiday. I'm eager to meet other RL owner's in TX. Doesn't seem like anyone in Waco is on the ROC.
