: Hi from Alberta, Canada
BlackRidgeRunner 05-09-2006, 09:17 PM Hi,
I've been reading on this site for a couple of months. Finally bought a Black EXL w/Navi and have owned it for almost 2 weeks. I LOVE it!!! Slight wind noise coming from the top moulding of the windsheild, but other than that, this truck has been everything I hoped for and more!
Thanks to everybody who has posted on this great site...you guys should get commission on all the Ridgelines you have helped sell!
Cheers!:D
UglyTruckling 05-09-2006, 09:48 PM Welcome!!!:)
Truckin' 05-09-2006, 09:49 PM Welcome as an official owner, BlackRidgeRunner. I can tell you are smiling whenever you think about your truck. Don't you just love the NAVI? Well, actually, I'd like to hear your review of the Canadian DVD. The American one has more back roads than I expected and since I love to explore, that makes me very happy. I sure missed NAVI when we visited your fine province and BC last summer.
BlackRidgeRunner 05-10-2006, 07:01 AM Hi Truckin'
The first time I test drove a Ridge, it was equipped with Navi. Did'nt think I was interested in it until I seen it, then it was a must have!!;)
I am a big GPS user (handheld Garmin 60c), and was very impressed with the detail of the maps on the Navi. A USA map DVD also came with the truck.
You guys in the States don't get a Canadian version DVD?
Truckin' 05-10-2006, 09:44 AM Thank you for the report. I'm glad to hear it is a good version. No, we did not get the Canadian version. I think it's completely unfair that only Canadians are getting both DVDs. There's been some discussion previously of doing an exchange across the border as we upgrade. However, it appears that wouldn't work unless the recipient was not upgrading, as the upgrade changes the OS somehow and you can't go back to a previous version.
I would have loved the on screen maps up there. I had plenty of paper maps that I fell back on, but I'd gotten spoiled by NAV by then and I missed it severely. Here's my review of the trip in respect to NAV:

BlackRidgeRunner 05-10-2006, 10:27 AM Interesting thread...thanks for the link.
I dont understand why Honda includes both discs in Canada but not the US. I mean, with the cost of DVD's and all:eek:
I agree that the nag screen should maybe flash on once letting you know that you have left the map area...but to stay on so the compass on the Navi screen is disabled??? That is just stupid!
Hopefully, these are some of the kinks that will get worked out with later versions of the maps.
Long Gone 05-10-2006, 12:41 PM Hi Alberta! :D

Where abouts wildrose country are you from?
BlackRidgeRunner 05-10-2006, 04:26 PM Fort Saskatchewan (15 minutes NE of Edmonton).
GO OILERS!!
rms56 05-11-2006, 01:22 PM All I can add after last night's game is WOW!!!!!
Oh and that's from Edmonton.
STEVE FROST 05-11-2006, 02:18 PM Welcome aboard, Go Sharks. I thank you for your win last night. I have tickets for my employees and family for game five here in San Jose. If the Sharks would have whooped you both nights in Alberta there would be no game five.
Your guys did a great job, but did you note it took nine periods to beat us.
rms56 05-11-2006, 03:50 PM 12 periods, 1000 quarts of sweat and three of Ryan Smyth's front teeth.
But lets continue with the math. This was your 8th grinding game in a row. You were outskated, out hit and out played in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th periods of this game and quite frankly looked very tired from the getgo.
I'd be getting game 7 tickets if I were you..........but you'll be goin' home disappointed. Oilers in 7.

What he said!!:p :D  GO OILERS!!
Carlisle: The Leafs are hurtin'. IMHO they should have kept Pat Quinn and canned GM John Ferguson Jr..
BlackRidgeRunner 05-12-2006, 09:05 PM Maurice is a good coach. Best move the Leafs have made in awhile.
Go Oilers!!!! What a game again tonight!:D :D
STEVE FROST 05-15-2006, 03:44 PM I want to extend an apology to my Canadian neighbors.
I was in attendance of the Sharks/Oilers game last night.
I was as most, was appalled when there was booing at the Canadian national anthem. It was a minority of fans involved but it was noticably heard.
There were two hispanics sitting in front of me that were involved, I did interupt there boos to remind them that your country cheered our national anthem when sung in Canada. There were many cheering the Canadian anthem last night as well, but it was cut short as they imediatly started God bless Vespuci Land right after your anthem.
It struck me as odd that most of the younger hispanic fans were booing loudly, had it been a Mexican team there would have rioting in the streets if they had been booed.
I hope to believe that they were booing a team not a country.
As for the Game the Oilers trounced us soundly, we were simply out played at every level, our passing game was dismal. I am a Sharks fan but nothing smells worse than dead fish. They passed out towles when we came into the arena, I thought they were for waving in the air, but I guess they were for crying into.
What colors should an oilers fan wear for the rest of the play offs?
hijack204 05-15-2006, 04:34 PM Ya people are ignorant anywhere you go, I believe at one of the games in montreal(might have been baseball) fans were booing the american national anthem. Funny thing about it is all the nhl teams are a mix of lot of different countries. So even tho one team is in canada the other team could be in the american city but have more actually canadians playing for that team.
rms56 05-15-2006, 05:39 PM Don't worry about the anthem thing...it happens to every visiting team from time to time. We have similar morons in our own rink booing your anthem when 5 or 6 Oilers were Americans. Doug Weight, Billy Guerin, Todd Machant, Mike Greir, Mike York, Marty Reasoner to name a few. Matt Greene, Ty Conklin, Brad Winchester on this years.
Oh about the game.....we stunk and still pulled one off. 6 goals on 18 shots. Shorthanded forever and here have this puck....go ahead...we don't want it. The pace was bound to take its toll on both teams. I don't know if the Sharks can bounce back for 60 mins. We shall see.
